- After closing the gas outflow from the LPG bottle, placed in the trunk.
The next step is to disconnect the gas hoses connected to the filter and disassemble it.
Note some gas left in the installation so do not use open fire.
In the case of dismountable filters, the mechanic unscrews the casing, removes the old cartridge and mounts a new one.
In the case of non-removable filters such as mine, we install a whole new filter and new clamps.
For installation, we will use a new filter and a 7mm spanner. I have a socket for convenience. In the event of damage to the gas rubber hose - replace it with new ones.
Do not forget about the direction of gas marked with an arrow on the filter.
How does the gas shutoff valve work? How many turns does it take to close and how many turns to open?
My LPG system was done about 4 or 5 years ago, I don't think the filter has been cleaned or changed, gas tank is full, but the other day, it will not now switch over to the gas, it tries but it keep carrying on as thought the tank is empty. I am going for the reason being the filter is crapped right up, and so blocking the gas getting into the jets to the engine. Is this a reasonable theory ?
It's now to late to answer your question but for the other readers...Your filter is not good for sure after 5 years not changing it,but if so ...first problem would be engine hesiteting on LPG,poor mileage and only then that problem.You need to change vapour filter(dry)anyway.Every year or 10-15.000km.
