If you have a small allen key and have a top load stem like me, use the little hole at the end of your wrench to put through the end of the allen key so you can tighten it. This makes it sooo much easier to tighten stuff.

Spring and sharpened steel dowel, screw for a bolt handle, put a bolt and nut through the bar right behind the spring, slot cut into the handlebar to operate it, another dowel section with .25" hole drilled through the length of it for a 209 percussion cap and 1/16" hole drilled through the di. to screw that part to the handlebar and to prevent the insertion and firing of fixed .22 ammo, then once you get it all put together with the percussion cap in, put in about 90-120 grains of black powder, just barely melt and pour some melted candle wax over that, drop in a 5/8" steel ball bearing, pour some melted wax in over that and there's your mobile self-defense cannon. In many States, even if you get locked up for carrying firearms or concealed weapons, well, antique firearms are not firearms, cannons are not pistols, revolvers, rifles or shotguns and I dare you to TRY to conceal your bar ends. It'd look too goofy to pull off smooth if you tried. So you can have 2 cannons on your bike. Maybe do a bar-spin trick-shot with no ball, powder or wax at the skate park lol
Here's another tip for putting your bar in in your forks for footjams if your bar end is to small you can wrap tape around it till it's thick enough to stay in your forks
