Acatenango is pretty challenging because it's a grueling climb of one day, while the Inca Trail is over 4 days and you have enough time to acclimatize. I have hiked both and I think the Inca Trail is gentler. By the way, I have three groups going next year to hike the Inca Trail should you want to join us, you can find details on www.travelwithtrekkingpals.com
This is very helpful. Thank you. Definitely learn something new about trekking poles. How much does it cost to rent trekking poles there? Can you give some ranges $?
@charalambosmichael4678 Not our favorite month to hike the Inca Trail. I’m organizing a group trip for March and one for May. If you’d like to join any of them please send me an email Wearetrekkingpals@gmail.com
@TrekkingPals thank you so much for your reply. I looked at your itenirary and it's very interesting. So like mid nov to end, it's OK, not rainy? It's when your trip starts
@@krazykara1327 The first group trip is sold out. The second trip is from Nov 19th to 29th. It’s a good time to hike. I hiked the same dates in 2018. Here’s the link for more details: www.highonpeaks.com/itinerary-peru-1-1 Feel free to call me 🤙 415-364-8438 for any questions.
@alexanderparson3374 March is right after they close in February for maintenance. The trail will be a bit mudy but people still hike in March. We have a group forming for May. If you’d like to join us please email us wearetrekkingpals@gmail.com

Yes 🙌 most accept USD and exchange it later. It’s easier for them with the local currency but if you choose dollars make sure the bills are crisp and in good state so that they’re accepted by the exchange office or the bank.

What a nice little info-video! I do agree that the burden of travelling with a bigger sleeping back isn't worth the money used to transport it and take up packing space, etc...

Absolutely gorgeous presentation, helpful and brilliantly presented and narrated!
Thank you 🙏
I am turning 18 soon and will hopefully be doing this hike. This vid has helped a lot. Thanks
Will chewing coca leaves or drinking coca tea make me come up positive on a urinalysis? This trek looks like a great time.
Brilliant guide, and very helpful. thank you
I’m glad it helped
Thanks for the information doing my trek in September 😊

Be in high country three days minimum before taking the camino Inka

I've hiked the volcan de fuego hike in guatemala and it was pretty challenging. Is this trail as difficult, or would you say it's a bit easier?

Glad it was helpful!
My rental included tent, sleeping bag, and trekking pole for $100. Steep but I sure wasn't going to pack my own and pay for extra luggage!
Great video! How were/are the mosquitoes there in November? I’m an absolute mosquito magnet!
It’s not bad if you protect yourself by wearing long sleeves and long pants and applying big spray or cream to exposed areas
Is there a tour for late November early December?
Yes there is. Please check the dates here www.travelwithtrekkingpals.com
Great tips! Would you recommend the Inca trail during the rainy season?
Thanks. Which month are you thinking exactly?

What about using the restroom while on the trail; especially for females? It appears that everything is out in the open 😢
With our group trips we offer portable toilets private to our teams to use at each campsite.
It works really well for our female travelers.
Hi, isn't it the rainy season in November? Thx
