Yes, it was different. In the original game, Kerrigan wasn't playable in this mission. Originally, she said, "*You'll* need to hold off the invaders *by yourself.*" I guess the change makes sense. Why would all three fleets who want revenge on Kerrigan converge on a Zerg platform if Kerrigan wasn't even there.
Well they have a planet sized one called Aiur. Plenty of stuff there to throw a mothership together from. At least he didn't find the Spear of Adun to take a stab at the zerg with.

I wonder how Mengsk catched the transmission between Kerrigan and the cerebrate? Shouldn't they communicate through telepathy? And how Kerrigan catched up with the UED remnants while they ran ahead of her? They could have jumped anywhere. Each of the 3 fleets force must have been substantial on their own to dare attacking the Zergs alone. Yet all of them still defeated. Pretty strange.
nah actually it makes sense a little with how the zerg swarm and how fast they supposedly go from larva to egg to zerg monster. The protoss and Terran have a limited amount of soldiers they can send. While Kerrigan can literally make new zerg on the battlefield. Thats supposed to be what makes the zerg scary. As long as Kerrigan has time and the battle is slow, Zerg always wins the war of attrition. For Terran and Protoss, they need to hit hard and fast, the longer the battle goes on, the better it is for zerg.
Interesting thing to ponder: Kerrigan recognized the “dark threat beyond the horizon” aka Amon. The Xel Naga artifact de-infesting Kerrigan was what gave Amon enough power to come out of the void, and Kerrigan wanted to destroy the artifact. That’s why Moebius Corp wanted to stop her. So really, the OG infested Kerrigan was right all along. De-infesting her then turning her primal was merely the way for Ouros to get revenge on Amon
Original: "You'll need to hold of the invaders by yourself" Here: "We need to hold of these invaders together" I think it feels a bit out of character to having Kerrigan helping out here. In the original she just taunted the enemies and then left the cerebrate abandoned on the platform to clean up her mess.
It's an optional "extra hero appearances" feature. They're after her specifically so she's not really trying to help out anyone but herself. Admittedly Kerrigan sincerely using the word "together" in any instance is a bit out of character.
Well, Kerrigan was probably under threat during this battle. She basically meant that her immediately available forces were under the supervision of her Cerebrate. She didn't have much available and seemed to be caught off guard. It would make sense for her to actually be observing the battle or participating a bit in it, as she was fighting for her own survival.
Hope Nemesis was made as SC2 base. Dominion having Marauder's prototype (black Firebat(SC1 styled) with 90 HP and 1 armor, anti tank "Hand"gonne with range of 6, 16 explosive damage, and Slowing enemy on hit, and being medium size unlike Other Infantries) and UED should have Spartan goliath with Aegis guard's shield ability(and 200 HP, able to attack ground and air stimultaneously) (to compensate the lack of siege tank) and Vessel with reparing ability.
It was at this point that Kerrigan could have further pushed against either the Terran or Protoss to destroy them, and that could have been the end of starcraft then and there
if I remember correctly, Kerrigan was not playable in this mission back when I last played this mod, glad they added these hero units in the last mission. This is also the last mission you will encounter the UED, in the 1st protoss mission of Into the Void epilogue Duran said that the terrans should have been wiped out in their cold forgotten world (most likely he's referring to Earth), did Blizzard killed them offscreen?
I like Kerrigan better like this. No Amon, no Overmind, just Kerrigan, a cold hearted and ruthless killer who gives no Fs. I hate how SC2 took away the agency of her own actions and said it was Amon or the Overmind... like that makes BW Kerrigan far less awesome and it's more like she's shifting the blame to someone else. If you really wanna redeem Kerrigan that badly, at least have her face what she's done instead of "Oh that was all Amon."
Dugalle : you vastly underestimate me, my dear Kerrigan : Considering how the commander I'm pitting against you has proven their ability to devastate numerically superior foes with bare minimal resources SEVERAL times in JUST the past month, I think you may want to reconsider your current approach.
I think this mission would much harder if player fought not three factions, but one or two hybrid terran-toss enemies. Imagine AI recalling siege tanks or sending zealots supported by medics.
Looking through these campaigns again uhh...did it really matter that nobody made it back from the UED? I mean in their campaign they were pretty up to date with what was happening somehow and they even had their own propaganda movie at home about their achievements so communication seemed simple to do...and than they wanna say that the UED fleet just blew up and nobody noticed it on Earth?
For a game meant to be purely multiplayer focused, you gotta admit that SC1 had pretty good and actually dark story. I like sc2, but this whole 'save the universe' vibes are tiring.
That's a bit false in a way. At least in terms of SC1 that is as some really old maps had absolutely horrendous balance. Even if they were actually used in real tournaments. It's quite understood that it never was meant to be this massive franchise at launch.
Damn....I played this mission a year ago and Shield of Aiur can kill Kerrigan directly with Vortex! WTF! I don t uderstand why she finished out UED but no the protoss and Arcturus( this guy still do not study tactic corectly and the protoss too because they were able to burn whole planet and just leave.
Sometimes protos were able to burn out whole planet but today the dont have much inteligence to burn little station. Second think is that nukes didnt harm the instalation so it just fall and burn in atmosphere.

I must say "I've become Queen Bitch of the universe" has been my fav quote of her's
¡En taro Nral!
Protoss theme 3 will always be an epic classic
I like Kerrigan better like this. No Amon, no Overmind, just Kerrigan, a cold hearted and ruthless killer who gives no Fs.
I hate how SC2 took away the agency of her own actions and said it was Amon or the Overmind... like that makes BW Kerrigan far less awesome and it's more like she's shifting the blame to someone else.
If you really wanna redeem Kerrigan that badly, at least have her face what she's done instead of "Oh that was all Amon."
Dugalle : you vastly underestimate me, my dear
Kerrigan : Considering how the commander I'm pitting against you has proven their ability to devastate numerically superior foes with bare minimal resources SEVERAL times in JUST the past month, I think you may want to reconsider your current approach.
Why does Kerrigan wear armor?
I always thought it would be cool if on hard Raynor showed up as well, lending his aid to the protoss.
Who made that model of Kerrigan? I love it's accuracy to the original Brood War look.
Hm, I wonder where Duran could have gone off too... if only there were a mission to tell us that...
That text with alexiei s vodka was in mission or in mission brefing ?
Damn....I played this mission a year ago
and Shield of Aiur can kill Kerrigan directly with Vortex!
WTF!
(Campaign's blue Vortex effect changed to kill a unit directly instead of absorbs nearby units.only exists in the editor)
I still recorded it at 17:00

Executor Nral, i love you !
Let's be honest .... 3 v 1, that *really* should have worked. I call plotarmour.
👏 That was impressive!
"You see at this point I am pretty much the Queen+Bitch of the Universe"
Well she basically became a God so was this foreshadow? Lmao
Not really, it just went she could do whatever she wants and nobody had the means to stop her.
They made this mission a lot harder
Also didn't Kerrigan say u have to take care of the fleets by yourself?
I don t uderstand why she finished out UED but no the protoss and Arcturus( this guy still do not study tactic corectly and the protoss too because they were able to burn whole planet and just leave.
Doesn't Mass Recall contain the hybrid bonus mission?
It does, I pinned the link in comments
@@ExecutorNral Ah, I see.
was kerrigan's "together" in the mission briefing spliced in?
Yes
I still wonder what happens to the cerebrate after this. :(
Celebrates probably evolved in leviatans but not sure
He went to Hawaii and chilled to the sunset while drinking Pina Colada from a coconut
Sometimes protos were able to burn out whole planet but today the dont have much inteligence to burn little station. Second think is that nukes didnt harm the instalation so it just fall and burn in atmosphere.
Does Mass Recall also includes the last extra mission when Zeratul finds a nod to the hybrids?
Yes
Yes, and they used the SC2 Hybrid Chamber model for the part where the adjunct explains the hybrid, with a close up to it. It really sets a omnous tone, the doom and gloom of these creatures.
so this is the sc1 campaign played in sc2?
Yep
5:43 We shall be watching you
.....LAUNCH DETECTED......!
LOL
Right...
secret mission?
