This was a huge help. Made enough money to buy fields 19 and 20 just from mowing around the starter field. Turned them into grass and since then I've been able to buy fields 10, 11, 15, and 17. I use 15 strictly for corn for the Big X for more silage. Fields 10, 11, 16, and 17 all are dedicated to wheat, barley, and canola. Also, if you upgrade the front loader tractor at the biogas plant to the T6.160 you can use a 45,000 trailer and move it easily. The conveyor belts made doing all of it even plausible, so much easier than using a bucket. I have the Big L mod and totally agree with you on the ridiculously increased grass yield and super cheap price so I took it upon myself to raise the price to $500,000 to slightly even it out. I worked out some math and the Big L produces worlds more than the Big M in mowing the same area. Overall one of the best FS15 tutorials I've watched, thanks!
Just wanted to say thank you for helping me getting started with FS15. Your channel have been a huge help. Today I picked up FS17 on sale for 40% off so on to new adventures :)
I was making small chunks of change just harvesting the same field over and over, I never paid too much attention to the silage and stuff like that, I was doing pretty good and I had 40 hours into the game. I watched this video and I made the same amount in 5 hours!! Thank you so much man. You just earned yourself a subscription and a like😁
The most complete video i saw about silage till now!!! gongrats!!! just a tip..the numbers showed on the bottom left screen when harvesting is measuered in liters which means the volume collected
Great video. TY. My son and I have enjoyed Farming Simulator 2015 for some time, he's young enough to just enjoy sitting watching me doing stuff. I have no clue what I'm doing most of the time, but we have laugh and use it to tell some great stories to mum afterwards. This video has been a great help. Even though I cheat with money, we can at least make silage and feed the cows in a farm, and not just rely on the tutorials.
I've been playing for awhile so I know a lot of the "guidelines"/tricks for starting up and maximizing profit. This video is by far the best tutorial for silage and making money in game. The only thing I would recommend different is to start out logging then move to silage so you can afford to start with better equipment. Great video, thanks for taking the time.
I really like your videos and I really don't mind your kids coming into your videos. I have it for the PS3 and I found this video by searching up fastest ways to make money in farming simulator 15 and that's when your video poped up and I clicked on your video and I watched it and unlike most of the TH-camrs I watch you are SO understanding and that's why I like your videos.
Thanks for the tutorial. You can tell you are knowledgeable about the equipment and you deliver it concisely. Allot of others ramble on. My wife and son love the solar collector money stream, but I’m out to prove the silage way is the best 😅. May the sun shine in the week and rain on the weekend….
+cj labrecque - yes and no - you CAN hook up trailers. You CAN'T go do something else. The Silage Harvesters will not allow you to hire a worker with an attached trailer. Hope that helps.
This combined with watching your "no mods" challenge helped a lot. PS4 here. The tip in there that the Tectron can suck silage and dump it instead of using a loader is a life saver. I'm one of those guys that gives up on using the forestry stuff because I can't lift the logs for anything. I cut the trees in my way and that's it. I just drive the trailer into the lake to dump my logs and reset the trailer to the farm :P
I just started playin' FS15 again after a long break. Great video by the way, very informative and easy to understand. I'm currently movin' grass with the 148hp Ursus tractor, with the mower on the front and the Pottinger forage wagon on the back. I have 4 fields in Westbridge Hills right now and trying to keep my farm as old fashioned as possible by growing a little bit of everything. And cutting enough grass to feed my small flock of sheep and cows plus fill up the bunker beside the cows to eventually start feeding them silage along with the grass. I doubt I'll get into chaff or TMR because of the investment in quipment, at least for now.
Thanks for the tutorial. I got interested in the farming game on another channel, but it didn't have enough information. I looked up the game in search and found you. I played a few videos of your gaming and that sold me. I bought the game from Steam and started my own game. I remembered your biogas videos and watched them and now I'm getting ready to start farming for the biogas market, at least until I get more familiar with the controls and have a good starting bank for more and better equipment! Thumbs up! Oh, I already subbed and set for notifications. Thought you should know.
Just want to say big thanks for this, was watching your videos (and just started checking the 1 year challenge) had just got into silage from watching your vids (specially like this one) had got upto, don't remember 70k or something, then got great demand (had taken more then half of silage when it came) was around think ended at 190k with rest, had time to get another upto 12% full and fermitaed, now at 450k (plus bought telehandler to be faster)
Arthur chapman, I found it easier where I bought the SmartTrax with front mower and the biggest LoadingWagon and just driver around the map and it fills up quite quickly. Time consuming but worth it. Love the videos
It's a good idea to use the FollowMe mod when doing this with grass. You cut the grass, and have a worker follow you with the pickup, then you just have to drive the truck when it's full. Very nice guide, I have never used the Krone Big X before, but now I will !
+Olivier Martel That is why follow me is so cool. I am not sure, but I don't think follow me was around when I made this video. Its one of those things where I wish I could update the video in place and add that stuff in, but TH-cam doesn't let you do that. Vimeo does...

Hi Arthur, Love your Tutorials, I would like to point out that if you watch the video on the Real Big M, the narrator mentions that the Big M has a dryer built in to dry the grass. I tried and was amazed that this model Big M does NOT need to be teddered for hay. you can collect right from the Big M and use it as is for Hay.
Hi Arthur, I believe I used this one, let me know if it works, also, I am able to tow a loading wagon behind it. www.farming2015mods.com/farming-simulator-2015/combines/krone-big-m-500-v-2-0-combine/
I've just bought FS15 about a week ago, so I've yet to experience the more expensive ways to make silage, but so far the first mower-wagon-combo has been a nice activity while my workers cultivate and sow the fields. Tedious, yes, but less annoying than having to correct minor mistakes I always make when I do fieldwork by myself :D Same goes for the selling of the silage, with the little JCB skidsteer

ravenwda007 Part if it is repetition for me - I have been doing FPS since Wolfenstien, and I am sick of it. Also part of it is relaxation. I don't find stressing out trying to win and getting angry that much fun anymore. I usually play to relax.
Thanks for the videos. Since there is so little instruction with the game I depended on TH-cam. Now, I'm playing on the Xbox One so mods are limited to factory DLC's. I have needed up purchasing all but the Lamborghini tractor one and because of that I wanted to update some info on this tutorial. If you want to do silage I started like you by mowing then getting the pottinger tractor header. The difference was my next step up. I used the Russian forage harvestor, the Rastelmash or whatever it's called. From there I upgraded just the header to the Kemper one that came with the New Holland DLC. I tried the Krone header and the harvest or would move it with no issue, problem was it would not pick it up fully and it would drag on the ground so that one was out. I eventually upgraded to the New Holland which can use the Krone header. You also have to replace the straw collection header because even though the Rastelmash would attach, it wasn't able to lift it high enough. Unlike the issue I mentioned above, this one did lift, the issue was when it was in the down position it would cause the harvest or to slide kinda like if you ran a front loader with the bucket all the way down. My next major purchase came for collection when cutting corn. I let the worker drive the harvest and I found the JCB tractors to be the best for the money when needing the horsepower and have never needed a weight because of the balance. This let me overload them until I took this next step. I purchased the Holmer Terra Variant and the grain tank. Combine that with two Flegel Bulls and it gives you a grand total of 89,000 Liters. It has no trouble moving it up or down hills. Also the four wheel steering makes reversing with the double tipper configuration very easy. Only downside was I needed a weight to attach the Bulls. The other option that works well without the weight is the large Flegel with the dolly. It can be a challenge at times to keep it away from the header because zoomed outyou barely can see the last tipper. For the front loader to load the silage, I started with the JCB skid steer then eventually upgraded to the JCB front loader (best buy for the money). There is one other thing that makes silage SO VALUABLE that you didn't mention (at least not in any videos I've watched). By using silage at the biogas plant, you also make FREE SLURRY! NO need to have cows unless you want solid manure for the greenhouses. I actually just realized this. I wondered how the slurry and got full before I bought cows. I watched it slowly increase right after scooping a bucket into the Hopper. That increases the value of silage that much more. Its amazing how in depth this game is in some ways, yet lacking in others but most of all lacking in direction. Thanks again, love watching the videos and hearing you spend time with the kids, reminds me of my house. Both of my boys 10 and 14 years game with me. Would love to see an update to the silage tutorial, would be happy to help any way I can.
It may be a translation error by the developers, but you use the whole plant to make silage, it just gets chopped up. The more mass per area you get, the better. Thats why corn is used, as it is a lot of plant in short time on a small area. Just using the husks just wouldnt be enough. Frohe Weihnachten und einen guten Rutsch! (Merry Christmas and a happy new Year) to you and your family from a german Farmers son!
I see that now. I noticed it in the product demo video. Thank you for the info again. You have been quite a great source of information :) Happy New Year!
Arthur Chapman also a good way to make money is to put the oak trees (cost 7k) near the lumber mill cut them down and sell them (u get around 45+k on FS 15 on all consoles)
Man your videos are so informative and awesome! i've watched a lot of your tutorial videos and they've been such a great help and get me even more excited about fs15. i think i'm going to try and start earning money to do the silage at the biofuel plant. i know its gonna take a lot of time but it'll make the most money in the end
This is probably the best method for getting yourself out of debt. Probably takes a while to acquire, but if you invest in a Loader and Krone Combine, it will be worth it. You could have a $200,000 loan that needs to be payed off, and with a Bio-Gas Plant silo at maybe even 10% capacity, you will get it payed and if you are lucky, still have enough money for a new tractor. And that's when there isn't a demand for it.
+Calvin"Gnar Nation Ski Co." Vize - there is Ethanol, but I don't think we use it for heating or electric, but for use in motor vehicles. I think in Europe they are using corn for heating and electricity, which is something I don't believe we do here. But you are correct that Ethanol comes from corn, and it is the same procedure as far as I know. I am starting to see more Foragers in Ohio for sure.
I am from bc Canada and we have one of these Bio gas plants and it is not making bio fuel like ethanol or bio diesel it is making natural gas. We clean the gas and sell it to the gas company. But most use the raw methane to fuel generators
I am assuming you are playing 15 - if so... 1. Harvest your first crops and sell them. 2. Use your cultivator and seeder to plant grass on all your already owned feilds. 3. Sell all your equipment. 4. Buy a New Holland T6-160, A mower, A round bale machine, and a round bale wrapper. 5. Mow the grass, bale it, wrap it and sell the wrapped bales at your bale barn. Rinse, repeat. You will be a millionare very quickly.
Hey Arthur, thank you for a very informative video. I've started farming silage, I sold all my equipment opted for the John holland t6 with front mower and rear forager combo. Slow and tedious yes, but loading the silage into the bins is a much more painful. Can you give me the link to the conveyor mod please? I think it's hard to find these days... I hope not Thanks anyway loved the video
cheapest start up for silage I found was a front mounted mower and collection trailer yes your cutting area is not the biggest but saves doing mowing raking and collecting
Greetings from Lincolnshire, United Kingdom! Your Silage tutorial was very useful and I can now earn some serious money, thanks. If your interested to know where I am silage for bio-digesters were introduced last year. My area now has two small bio plants and the big farms are growing corn for them. Unfortunately they haven't yet built silage pits so our fields are dotted with giant plastic sausages until they have fermented!
Just want to say thank you for this. I have been wondering how to sell silage. As i just learned can cover it and stuff. I just need learn how make more slurry.
Slurry in 15 is automatically made at the Biogas plant, when you sell silage Drive a slurry tank up to the big tank just right of the front gate and you see the slurry level - Cows also make it.
Can't you make a connection of conveyor belts from the silo to the bio plant ? :-) And with the Krone chopper, you can put that on Hire Worker and drive next to it with a tractor with a large trailer
agreed - at the time I made this I didn't know that you could get silage prices for bales - also the nice thing about that method is that you don't have to wait for the bins to unload - you just sell the wrapped bales at the bale sell point.
it is a smaller chopper but the rostselmash chopper that comes with the gold edition can hook up to all tippers even the semi trailer with the dolly and will not miss one corn stock if you hire a worker
In the border region of France and Germany there are a lot of people with German names living in France and French names living in Germany :) And then there's Switzerland which is bilingual (trilingual actually). As to selling silage to biogas plants: never seen it in the Netherlands, and live near a farming community, grew up in one as well. But there is a LOT of cattle farming, and those farmers need a ton of silage to turn into feed for their cattle. Maybe it's different in other countries of course, and the game is German after all. Of course most farmers here are either very small and poor, or very large and rich. The small ones tend to take subsidies to NOT use their fields, making more money from letting their fields lay fallow until late spring/early summer so ground nesting birds aren't disturbed than they would from that first harvest they're missing. And the large ones don't bother with silage because they make a lot more money from other crops, wheat, rye, tulip bulbs, things like that. And then use the income to buy feed for their animals (if they have them) on the open market, usually imported soy pulp.
They didnt put it into header because headers dont blow out the stuff they pass it to the body if you will. I dont know the terms in english, but the patenger (or how ever it is spelled) blow it out to the trailer, thats why its not a header and its a harvester.
whiteandnerdytuba Found out I was violating about 10 international laws by hosting those, so I didn't put them back up when my site got hacked but you could always go to www.gameworld.artkatpc.com/download - and don't tell anyone about it ;)
Arthur Chapman sorry to hear that. wish you could have helped me. i still say bs on the laws since torrent sites are still "legal," i enjoy your videos and keep up the good work
+si barsby The Big M is really a neat mower - makes things go a lot faster, unless you have to ted the grass, lol. But yeah, Its a cool mod. I bet we see one in FS 17
How do you detach the harvester header from its trailer? Just bought a Superflex Draper 45ft from New Holland for my New Holland CR10.90. I have the game on my PS4. Im not sure what to do with it.
excellent channel I just bought this game for the Xbox one and I cant put it down. I was watching this video (@22:21) you stated you needed a lot of horsepower to run that method. however I found out you can run it with the Red SAME tractor you buy for 142,000. I haven't ran into any issues with it so far.
Yes, the same does have 190 hp (which is high for its price). I wouldn't try the setup on anything smaller. The only issue you will run into on the same is that it will slow down quite a bit on hills
Where did you find the mod for your silage conveyors? I've downloaded a few more off of the official farming sim website but they don't really have a good selection and I'm not sure if I can trust downloading from other websites.
+Jordan Davis Modhub is a great site as it has few adds and doesn't make you click on a bunch of stupid stuff before you get to your mod - here are the conveyors I use. www.modhub.us/farming-simulator-2015-mods/multi-fruit-conveyor-belt-pack-v1-1/

I have found the new holland loader is more stable when moving silage if you lower the rear weight
I just got the game and i like it so much, very good content you got there... Gained a sub!❤
Welcome to my channel Marleek!
Very interesting video thanks for making it
Thank you Darragh
the bit about the European horn vs American horn made me LOL hard :) lived in both US and EU, and he couldn't have been more accurate :D
lol - glad to make you laugh :)
The Big M was in Farming sim 14 on the 3DS, really liked for the bio plant in the game!
So glad to be of service Rick! Also glad you are enjoying the game. There is just so much to it!
Did you know about producing slurry at the biogas plant every time you shovel in a scoop of gold....I mean silage. :-)
Rick Frazer Yessir - Free Slurry - you would be surprised at how fast you run through it. I have used up that entire tank on 3 or 4 fields.
Great job on the video. I plan on watching more of them.
Glad to have you aboard Belelusat
BTW have learned a lot watching your vids. I think they are the best out there!!!!
Glad to be of service :)
We have ethenol/biofuel plants in the Chicago area. We do a lot of the work in them as pipefitters. They have been around for a long time
I am not sure our ethanol is the same as the European Bio plants where they burn silage directly to make electricity, but I could be wrong about that.
thank you for making this video. I learned how to do silage from this video
Excellent! I am glad I could help.
Really?! That definitely wasn't the point of the video.
Merry Christmas to you too Arthur
Merry Christmas Mason!
Merry Christmas and good luck
+Matthew Campbell You to Matthew! Thank you!
Marry Christmas Arthur !!!!!
You too Bugz :)
It is also possible to create Chaff from straw by using the Krone Big X 1100 and EasyFlow 300 grass collector head. Superb video. :)
very true. Glad you enjoyed it!
I am surprised that this is in my recommended great video nonetheless
Glad you liked it!
Bro this guys is really smart man! And ur vids are great! U just earned a new sub
Thanks Bayley, Glad to have you onboard
Arthur Chapman also a good way to make money is to put the oak trees (cost 7k) near the lumber mill cut them down and sell them (u get around 45+k on FS 15 on all consoles)
Man your videos are so informative and awesome! i've watched a lot of your tutorial videos and they've been such a great help and get me even more excited about fs15.
i think i'm going to try and start earning money to do the silage at the biofuel plant. i know its gonna take a lot of time but it'll make the most money in the end
:Still the best darn way to make money! Glad you enjoyed the videos
never actually knew how to do this been taking corn to here thanks
No problem!
Finally I found a video explaining silage! Thanks so much. You're awesome!!
+david garcilazo You are very welcome :)
You are awesome in this game and knows very much, im new with farming simulator i just follow the helpline lol
Glad to be of service!
@@kingarthursims did you really sort this all out for us? wow
+Mathew Godfrey so true. A bit less tedious than lumber too.
😂😂😂😂😂 im 20 hours into fs15 and I just found this video. I have a truck 2 tractors 2 harvesters. Gonna try this.
Have fun!
Thanks this really helped!
Glad to be of service!
Great video! Very informative and entertaining!
Thank you Danny! Also be sure to check out my Silage tutorial for Farming Sim 17 as many things have changed.
+Arthur Chapman I have this game and know what to do
Kenny Kiers
Glad to hear it!
how did u know my name ?
+Arthur Chapman we should play with echther
I am from bc Canada and we have one of these Bio gas plants and it is not making bio fuel like ethanol or bio diesel it is making natural gas. We clean the gas and sell it to the gas company. But most use the raw methane to fuel generators
can you make a video of how you start a new farm then go into silage coz i would love to give this a try
I hope not
Thanks anyway loved the video
+Mr Smith Sure thing - here you go. www.modhub.us/farming-simulator-2015-mods/multi-fruit-conveyor-belt-pack-v1-1/
+Arthur Chapman many thanks
cheapest start up for silage I found was a front mounted mower and collection trailer yes your cutting area is not the biggest but saves doing mowing raking and collecting
+Nathan White Agreed - If you are getting into it with a starter farm its really the only setup you will be able to afford.
+Thomas Bellamy I see the plastic Sausages here too lol. No Digesters in the States though.
Great tutorial. Thanks! Should be worry free with courseplay.
+ravenwda007 You are welcome :) Glad to help!
@@kingarthursims thank you so much sir!
Can't you make a connection of conveyor belts from the silo to the bio plant ? :-)
And with the Krone chopper, you can put that on Hire Worker and drive next to it with a tractor with a large trailer
+lepaul26 lol, that would be a lot of conveyors, but it might work.
I mow the grass, use a tedder, windrow it, bale it, then wrap the bales and sell it. It's a lot faster.
agreed - at the time I made this I didn't know that you could get silage prices for bales - also the nice thing about that method is that you don't have to wait for the bins to unload - you just sell the wrapped bales at the bale sell point.
This popped up in my recommend
Same
Love your enthusiasm! Great video
Thank you Peirre - glad you enjoyed it!
DYK If the conveyor belts are still available for sale in XBOX ONE on FS15?
a good way otherwise to know if it is full, is if he pipe does not move, to track where the trailer is, then it is full.
Very good tutorial, thanks !
it is a smaller chopper but the rostselmash chopper that comes with the gold edition can hook up to all tippers even the semi trailer with the dolly and will not miss one corn stock if you hire a worker
That is correct - the video was made LONG before the gold edition came out :)
In the border region of France and Germany there are a lot of people with German names living in France and French names living in Germany :)
And then there's Switzerland which is bilingual (trilingual actually).
+CaptainDuckman That sounds a lot like where I live in Ohio - its either really small farms or giant corporate farms. Not a lot of in between.
you have good videos thx for makeing them
austin white Thank you for your compliment, Austin :)
They didnt put it into header because headers dont blow out the stuff they pass it to the body if you will. I dont know the terms in english, but the patenger (or how ever it is spelled) blow it out to the trailer, thats why its not a header and its a harvester.
That does make sense. It cuts AND spits :)
Hi from northern Ireland
clicked the link above, but didnt see the option for the farm simulator mods, what am i missing? also great tutorial.
whiteandnerdytuba Found out I was violating about 10 international laws by hosting those, so I didn't put them back up when my site got hacked but you could always go to www.gameworld.artkatpc.com/download - and don't tell anyone about it ;)
Arthur Chapman
sorry to hear that. wish you could have helped me. i still say bs on the laws since torrent sites are still "legal," i enjoy your videos and keep up the good work
whiteandnerdytuba hint hint - check the link I just sent you ;)
Arthur Chapman
i got it, thanks. its the conveyor that i am most glad about, other ones i downloaded didnt work as well. thank you
Hi Arthur. Enjoying the vids. You as excited as I am for 17 to come out?
Pre Ordering it ASAP. I should get my money in this week.
did i hear you correctly you can get chaff from wheat and barley as well? what would you use to cut it
Yes - you use the same header that you use to mow grass
Got fs15 last day and have been playing it for just this morning and i already have the big x 1100.
Glad to hear it. Great machine for making money right!
Muco gracias Nerdmigo - very cool guide
+Jaz 249 lol - Your welcome :)
Shame the big m isn't available on the xbox! Excellent tutorials by the way!
+si barsby The Big M is really a neat mower - makes things go a lot faster, unless you have to ted the grass, lol. But yeah, Its a cool mod. I bet we see one in FS 17
Need one for the xbox!!!!
How do you detach the harvester header from its trailer? Just bought a Superflex Draper 45ft from New Holland for my New Holland CR10.90. I have the game on my PS4. Im not sure what to do with it.
+Robert Epperson LOL Never mind. I figured it out. LOL. Thanks anyways.
+Robert Epperson LOL - glad to hear it. They fold up like aircraft landing gear, but you have to select the header and then press x I think.
excellent channel I just bought this game for the Xbox one and I cant put it down.
Oh and glad you are enjoying the channel :)
Happy 2023🥳
Happy new Year!
capacity is measured in liters and work width in meters
subbed thanks for this guide fella very informative
+Andrew Ambrose Glad to be of service!
Love the vids! I want 15 bad! I'm still playing 13 😢
hehe - we are on 17 now ;)
Tell you what - next time 15 goes on sale on steam, let me know - I will get you a copy.
Anything you can do to speed up the growth of corn or at least any activity while waiting?
Logging for sure - You could also speed up time to 120x and wait.
