I have a 2019 Epic (large). I weight about 86 kg, so using your 1.8 factor, the rear set pressure should be 155 psig, which seems too soft (just when peddling it around on pavement). I did the auto-sag adjustment twice which resulted in a repeatable 200 psig set pressure. I road the bike around my neighborhood on the pavement and found that there is too much 'bob' as I pedal. Due to this, I decided to give 235 psig set pressure a try. On the pavement I do get less 'bob.' I looked at how much travel the sag is set at at the 235 and it looks to be about 20%. I'll try it this week on the trails and see how it performs.
Thanks for the feedback. The 1.8 is a great starting point. I also found the auto sag being a lot more than the 1.8. Do ypu ride your brain on soft or firm ?
Also about 30 psi low for me which is huge. Autosag was pretty close to my weight in pounds which is about 2.2x Kg not 1.8x. Maybe works for lightweights? Just do autosag.
Hi. Its n number that I use and have been testing over the years thats been working pretty well for myself. I always felt the settings and pressure they advise to use was too sluggish for myself. But Ive used the 1.8 multiplier on many other riders and they also enjoyed the setup. What would you use on measuring your pressure. I always love hearing the plans other riders make.
@@RuanvanderLinde i tried it now, and spot on for me as well! Thanks for sharing your recipe :) ride safe always man! Big shout out to you all the way from here in the Philippines. Cheers!
Hi. Unfortunately not. Mine still new so have to send it in for services to cover the warranty. But believe me. As soon as thats over Ill be taking it apart 👍👍
@@RuanvanderLinde doesn’t the new 2021 specialized epics ( with brain suspension) come with a free two year service plan included in your initial service?
@@RuanvanderLinde air spring service is every 125 hours and damper service is 250 hours of riding time. Specialized have really stepped up to this issue and it confirms the confidence and reliability they have in their new brain suspension product.

I agree. Autosag works best if you've got it. Have you worked it out to kg ?
Is this the same for the 2021 shock? Don't think it has the sag valve
Hi. Sorry for only replying now. Not on the platform as much as I would like. Should be the same principle.
Nice vid! Just wondering, for the rear suspension -- where does the 1.8 weight multiplier came from?

Hi. Yes. Just make sure when you buy that the bike shop explains the service intervals etc

Thats great to know. They bumped up the hours I see. It used to be less if I remember correct?
Front seems way too much this way. rear seems way too soft.
