My pal is an independent auto electrician & has spent the last 2 years upgrading security on JLR vehicles at many dealerships. It was the only way dealers could sell cars because many UK insurance companies refused to insure them.
Great video. We have two jags and have always kept our keys in Faraday pouches so with 4 keys we have four pouches which were given to us free by the Police at a car show.
@@xk-r-us Here's the process for the XF, (also worked on my wife's 2019 XE) - To turn Keyless OFF - 1.Open driver's door 2.the fob must be inside the car 3.Press the Headlight button (on the fob) three times 4. then press Unlock on the fob. to turn Keyless back On - 1.Driver's door must be open. 2.Fob must be inside the car. 3.Press the Headlight button (on the fob) three times. 4.then press Lock on the fob. That's it - hope it works for you too!
I understand that Toyota's work the other way round where there car puts out the signal looking for the fob which can't be hacked. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't know about this, but I see that the Toyota option uses an app to access the key's function. maybe this helps with the signal from the car to Fob
With some newer cars(I’ve seen it happen with acuras, ford, Chevy) it won’t matter if it’s in a faraday bag😪 Reddit is littered with stories of this happening
That is really good to know. However, we are talking about Jaguar and Nland Rover here, so it still applies. I really appreciate you are letting me know - thanks

Sounds like he is on a good wicket.

I don't know about other JLR models but on my XF you can turn 'keyless' on or off with a certain sequence of button presses.
Interesting. Do you know the button presses -I'll try on the XKR

The absolute worst lazy-driver aid ever invented. Pointless and dangerous.
It is an issue
