What I really love about this pedal is that you can make a micro pog out of it with the right settings. Just dial in a octave delay sound with zero delay time and use the secondary controls to set the level of the low and high octave.
I came here looking for info on this pedal, but after reading some of the comments i have to weigh in.......it turns out i know Joe personally and i will say this: 1. He's probably one of the nicest guys one would ever hope to meet, 2. I'd be willing to bet he's one of the most accomplished guitarists and musicians one would ever hope to personally meet, 3. He's toured Europe and Asia on the strength of his own compositions, 4. He's backed up some pretty high profile people all over the world as a guitarist. Just wanted to put that out there to balance out some of the more negative comments, which were pretty unnecessary.
Calling it now - it'll be out in one year and all of the secondary features will have their own knobs, plus a full sized tap tempo switch. Probably about $100 more.
@@Dr.Jekyll Pretty sure that would be impossible but thanks for the suggestion. Also, I'm more partial to "short" sleeve shirts, but eh, each ti their iwn.

W3R3W00F, there is a very distinctive difference between an autocorrect typo and a spelling error that stems from lack of education or a mistake. Apparently you don’t know the difference. Look at your messages and you’ll see they are full of those types of errors, yet you made fun of my one mistake. Maybe you decided to copy this video and are wearing a scarf that’s causing a lack of oxygen. My typo is fixed, so now whaddaya got?
Dude! Flip the switch-plate around on that Junior/Tele; you won't have to reach for those volume-swells. You can trade places of the vol and tone pots if you want. This gets the vol knob in reach of your hand ~while~ picking.....
Art C, many did or else he wouldn’t have worn it after day 1. Also, CC Deville wore a similar hat at the same time. In any event, this guy is 6 inches of cloth away from wearing a burka. Wtf is he trying to hide? What gender is he? Or she?
Hi, a couple of questions about secondary knobs function. For example... When i turn knobs in secondary mode, does this changed settings remain in the standard mode when i return to it or just stay in that secondary mode? I ask this because of chance to ruin or screw up default settings in standard mode with messing in secondary, without memory how it was before messing with controls in secondary mode. Further more, does the pedal memorize the knob position of the settings in the secondary mode when you return to it later, or behave in „one time only“ manner? To be more specific, when turn knobs in some way in the secondary mode, then return to normal, turn the knobs in a different position, then return to secondary, the sound remains like I leave it before returning to normal mode or apply automatically the new position of knobs, which I change in mean time, to sound? Both questions are about same thing with different approach. And one more thing ... Does pedal change, in any way, original, dry sound of an instrument when engaged? I mean both on first stroke (first note or chord than you strike) and delayed, repeated one? Or there are no changes in continuity, tone of sound, delayed or not? Apologize for so mush data and questioning. Please help. Thx in advance!
I love EHX and I love the concept of this pedal but I can't see myself playing it live. What if I set my tape delay to sound really old, then for the next song I set my pedal on the shimmer, and then I go back to my tape delay? Would it still remember my settings or do I have to set the tape age again? And the most important thing to me is: is it really that hard to add a toggle switch to set the pedal on Loop mode so we can still choose a delay or reverb mode from the pedal to play with?
Whitenacho, Right? He’s OBVIOUSLY wearing a winter hat and scarf in a blatant attempt to be different. He might as well tattoo “I’m different.” on his forehead. It would have the same effect.
The bypass on the canyon is a clickless switch and is a tap itself, the tap input is there if you don't want to put the wear on the switch. So technically you can have 2 taps.
Hi, Nice video.. I have a question...at 1.51 you mention that the Tap/ Divide would not work with the looper mode switched on, which means you can't play a dotted eighth note over your loop on this pedal even if you have an external foot switch ?
Maybe someone can help with this but idk, I got one of these and whenever I play it on a delay setting its literally a delay, the first note that I play doesn't come through the amp until a set number off beats/seconds later. But whenever I see in a video someone is playing it, the note that they play is played exactly when they play it and then the delay comes after. how do I do that? I seemed to have messed mine up I guess. idk. if you don't get what I'm saying, go to 3:05, when he turns up his delay, the note still plays instantly after her strikes the string, and then delays after. mine only plays the delays afterwards and not the note I play initially. anyone know what to do to get that first note back?
Not exaclty. It will just be processed through a digital circuit, but it will not convert your analog pedal's tone into a digital version of it. You could use an analog overdrive with a digital delay and keep the "analogness" of your other pedals. Your tone isn't analog or digital, it just goes through analog and/or digital effects, but its always an electric signal on its core
There is just so much to make fun of though. His terrible demo, the scarf, the hat, the fact that he's wearing them indoors... The only thing missing is a Starbucks venti Sugar-Free, Vanilla Latte fagaccino with soy milk an extra shot and caramel drizzle at precisely 120 degrees.
Krookiemonster it's a reverb and delay pedal tho I think the loop function is sort of a bonus...maybe it was supposed to be something else and they just threw it in last minute?
Krookiemonster I agree and also wish the other functions could be used with the loop function. I'm thinking if that happened tho it might be a bit too awesome for its own good

Wally Brando soon he will become some kind of mummy

This guys straight out of the desert to doing pedal demos
yes and the desert it really does get cold at night lol
Not enough scarf, not enough beanie. Dislike.
Actually im just idding i bought this pedal two wees ago so thanks for this demo it really does a lot.
You bought a scarf and a beanie too, don't lie!
Alex Spots Wood ha haha

The best delay pedal ever made.
He really needs thick gloves with the finger parts cut off to finish the look
Must be really cold in tha studio

And after that the Grander Canyon. Then following that the Grandiest Canyon.
lmao as soon as you buy one of their pedals they release a better version of it. marketing genius
Thanks for showing clearly what this pedal can do .
Love Electro Harmonix complete legends love this delay and the memory toy delay

I sure do wish they made this Canyon pedal in stereo
They do now it’s called Grand Canyon
ironically, I find that the plate reverb in canyon is much better than the one in Oceans 11 reverb pedal.
this is freakin nuts so many great sound and options with this 1 small pedal
i picked one of these up recently, it's a great little machine
John Wright, the scarf or the hat?
I never care about stereo options until I care about stereo options.

I got one just for the Shimmer Effect love it Great Video !!!!!!!!!!
The Shimmer effect is the best I've heard. However I'm not crazy about the rest of the pedal, I have one.

it’s not just delay though, you can replicate reverb pretty well too, and wow 2:45 you just read my mind 😂

Buddy looks like a Starwars character in that outfit.
This thing needs a momentary switch spill-over mod for doing huge delay and/or reverb swells. Call it the Canyon Trail.
Hope your head gets better soon.

Clicked for the scarf, stayed for the pedal

It retains settings across presets so you can essentially dial in a sound per setting and just recall those presets at will.
Thanks, mate. I'll have to check that out :)
4:18 was great
I guess you need a scarf and hat when you’re on a canyon. Must get pretty windy up there. 😉
Is a sandstorm approaching?
... the best delay pedal ever
so you can't loop with the delay on?
Correct.
Check out Bill Rupurts review at EHX as well... killer pedal. I must have.
I'm literally writing down what tones he's putting on the knobs since I don't know what to do with 75% of the functions of this pedal.
I agree. I have the pedal but I think it's too much for me. I'm considering selling all of my pedals apart from 4. Life was easier without them.
Cold in there, is it?
Pleeeeeeaase tell me where you got that head piece of yours. Coolest I've ever seen.
What kind of guitar is that? Dig it.
Dude just play single notes so we can hear the pedal. Some of that was hard to hear cause you’re playing along with the delayed signal.
What guitars he playing?
Fano sp6
wonder if they will make a deluxe model and make it STEREO
They did!
I wanted to hear the reverse delay but it looks like the video just plays in reverse…I get it but it doesn’t seem accurate to what the setting will be
I'm confused a scarf and a beanie denotes a chill but a t-shirt?

Which would be the best settings for playing Radiohead
Would buy this just for reverb
1:38 that was U2 isn’t it?
Sounds great
Guitar???
You ever figure this out?
What kind of guitar is he playing?
Les Tele Jr.
Fano, great builder out of AZ www.fanoguitars.com/store/p20/Fano_SP6_Standard.html
Is this more of a weird toy or can i really use this effectively as my main delay pedal?
Yes!
The first thing he plays really reminds me of the song New Chlorine by Tera Melos!
Nice demo...
is the scarf included with the pedal?
I got under the dakar race to make a demo, well a demo attempt.
Needs more scarf.
ckchambers, can you ever have enough scarf? What’s this guy trying to hide?
I GOT A FEVER..!! 🤣😂😁😇😎😎😎

That guitar would be fantastic if it didn't have that yellow stripe in the headstock.
What is the brand of your guitar?

I'd prefer this one to Obscura. Plus it's so much more beautiful! I own Polara though, which is a great echo pedal by DigiTech.
Obscura's saving grace in my opinion is the tape delay mode.

No, in loop mode, other effects are disabled. The rotary mode switch allows one effect at a time.
Does this oscillate?
