This song just chokes every new song in the album. It's actually one of the best studio songs Mayer has ever recorded. It's sad but you can dance to it. It's a mix of JJ Cale, Clapton and Knopfler with a pop vibe. It's really fresh.
@PeaceSeeker049 I’ve heard it enough times that I can hear both solos in my head. By memory. Any song that has that claim - it has been listened to many many many times
Many years ago, Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton had a baby. That baby grew up and went on a Scuba Diving trip with instructor JJ Cale. There she hooked up with another deep sea enthusiast named John Mayer. Nine months later, this song was born, with the help of delivering physician Don Was and nurse Paul Reed Smith. And they lived happily ever after next to the ocean.

@@TC-lk2ev What is it about KGLW that transcends across various genres? Also Sufjan is great. So is Dallas Green. As is Prince or Bowie in the past - but John's ability to connect to the 60s to the 80s to modern music - I can't think of any other artist with such capacity of versatility.
@@tawsifakkas Hmm, good question. I think they cover a lot of different genres in each album. All is pretty related to rock - Surf, Punk, Garage, Psych (which are kinda similar) but then they go in Metal, Blues, shuffles, krautrock and every so often, electronic and doom-metally. Their latest album is very very synth heavy. On top of this they use a billion different time signatures. Combine all this stuff and you get some hugely varied music.
@@TC-lk2ev I think a lot of bands do shift around various genres within their own parameters - which is brilliant of course. Where JM stands out for me is not just versatility in terms of his own music (Born and Raised vs. Continuum vs. Sob Rock all have different sounds) but also how he manages to work with artists from completely different backgrounds and still manage to make it work. Common, Khalid, Travis Scott, Grateful Dead, Tony Bennett - it's insane.

Thank you John Mayer
I was lost and now I’m found.. This is the part where we get in the car and take a drive on the Highway 101 in LA.. this is where we get out of the car to dance because we’re finally free of the sadness of loving someone for years and they never cared..damn.. I’m extra..
Its 12:30 and I'm on my back porch listening to this amazing album we all have waited so long for. I can say I am not disappointed one bit. Sob rock is mom rock because this momma is jamming with the frogs and crickets in the background while it's slightly raining. Perfect! #SobRockbroughtbackthe70's
Dire straits meets the eagles meets Fleetwood Mac with John’s style all over it. Love it
Yes John Mayer is the fill in singer for Fleetwood Mac in this one.
Just got my heart ripped out by the lady of my dreams, this came in handy. Thanks John Mayer
Best song of the album.
