    I do not require accessability features but for somereason my second hand switch is saying screen reader enabled and I cannot find anywhere to disable it.
    Mainly wanted to say that your video production quality is outstanding. Excellent work!

    Hi Carrie.
    I’ve been wanting to get an Nintendo switch for a while now, but it’s very very sad to see that there is not very much accessibility for the console. Thank you for your review and helping me to make a sound judgment before I spent my money on something that I wasn’t gonna be able to use.
    I also noticed that you mentioned that you are no longer be doing live public Unboxing. I will definitely miss those videos. Sending you lots of love and big hugs.

      Hey Steven! It's always so great to hear from you. Yeah, it's frustrating that Nintendo does not consider accessibility. It really is. I really wish they would. The Xbox and Playstations have a screen reader. I hoenstly haven't really used them so much, but I've heard decent feedback from other users that are blind and use it. :)

    My blind friend Sammy used to have the Nintendo PlayStation as a little boy Carrie!
    It has VoiceOver too! Julio

      The playstation does have a screen reader even though its a bit limited. But the Nintendo does not. It's very disappointing.

    I’m low vision as is my husband and I just bought a switch today (5/9/24) it’s the first “console” I’ve owned since WII. Hubby has owned a PlayStation 3.
    I’m not tech “dumb” but this is a new experience as I set up all the devices as my husbands vision loss is different then mine.
    I have glaucoma and he has star guardt’s.

      Thanks for sharing about you and your husband. :) I hope that you have a good time with the Switch... At least it has magnification, but I just wish that it also had speech to text!

    Yeah, it's just really sad when it comes to Nintendo. People have been complaining about their accessibility issues for years and it seems like they just don't care. The Nintendo switch 2 is coming out soon and I don't see any improvements happening in the accessibility department. 💚

      Darn it. C'mon Nintendo we wanna play too. See us.

    I've never tried the Switch, and was wondering how low vision friendly it is, so this was a very helpful video to me. Also, I exercise a lot when trying to read text on the big screen too :D

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah.. I mean, it's doable. It's what we have. It's what Nintendo decided to give us... so you can... but I think Nintendo could do so much better.... :)

    The Pokemon Community had so much hope for Pokemon scarlet and violet to include voice acting since they included in the new Pokemon Snap game but Nintendo did not go through with voice acting for the new games. Here's hoping for voice acting in generation x! Fingers crossed emoji

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Voice acting would be great, but honestly, even a TTS or text to speech voice would be nice. Just read it for me. lol. It's text. It's the easiest thing to make accessible. I don't get it.

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh. And I also did get scarlet. It's a really, really, hard game to see.

    It's hard being a low vision Nintendo fan Nintendo is always so stuck in the past when it comes to... Everything, basically.😞 I use that magnification religiously because it's really the only thing I can do

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes... it's what we've got. It's really frustrating though. I want more. I expect more. They should do more. Come on Nintendo!

    • @ToughBeifong
      @ToughBeifong 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't know if you are aware of the company Nintendo but they are a video game company that makes gaming consoles and video games. The switch is their latest gaming console so far.

      @@ToughBeifong Oh, I've only heard of a text adventure game that accessible. You can read what you need to do in the game. One of my friends told me about the game. I've never tried it

      Yeah. The switch is a handheld gaming console device. It's unfortunately not all that accessible.

      @ToughBeifong 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mayapatel62442yeah, there are lots of games that are accessible now but at the same time there are a lot that still aren't. I usually just Google accessible games for the blind to find out what I can play.

    I made really similar experiences like you. Theagnofocatoon isn't well optimized. I would love to see a detailed review like that for the PlayStation or the XBox, since I've never tried them.

      Right now, we don't have a playstation 5, but my. but my brother does have an Xbox, so that might be a possibility to do! Thank you so much. :)
