I have wheels from the R230 SL65 pre-facelift. That's because I have a 2005 SL65 AMG, thus what came with the car from the factory. ;-) I did have an issue with one of them clicking like it had a nail or rock in the tread. The bolts holding the two piece rims together were loosening up. I retightened them and all is good now.
I bought a 2011 e63 amg W212 a couple months ago and you inspired me to start a channel about it's ownership. There's not really anyone out there doing videos on what the ownership experience is like on these, in the current day so I figured I'd stop compaining about it and start making my own videos. thanks for the inspiration!
You’ve got one of the best looking E55 out there. I too prefer the OEM look and the SL550 wheels you have perfectly compliments that. Anything else, it looses its elegance. If you upgrade, it should be purely for performance and a light weight wheel should be considered. Have a look at the V2-GT rims from German tuner Väth. This would look good on your silver E55 and not loose its elegance. Don’t mess with the OEM look, you’ve got one clean car and the other wheels you spoke about wouldn’t be good if you’re willing to retain an OEM look.
Man I love all the content you put out! You help me so much on my research for buying a e55. I’ve been wanting/waiting to purchase one for a couple of years now. My lease is finally up this week in my daily car and I have definitely been inspired by you to get one as my daily. I’m a 800hp supra owner but I’m looking forward to joining the w211 e55 community :)
The CLS55 AMG wheels are the best looking factory mercedes wheel for a W211. The problem is they are weak and lack the reinforcement lip on the inner barrel most newer wheels have and prone to bending and cracking.
ToyTricky Cubs I was wondering why so many cls55 wheels that I see listed for sale are either cracked or bent. Kicking myself for not hopping on a low mileage set on mbworld last month but now I’m wondering if they’re even right for me 🧐
W211's look sexy with staggered deep dish wheels, I have some mht forged 2 piece wheels on mine, but you'd definitely have to roll your fenders in the rear since yours is lowered, mines are 20x9 front and 20x12's rear. I do like the concave AMG style wheels tho.
I always recommend these sl550 wheels on e55.. looks perfect. I have w212 e63 18x9/9.5 on mine with 265/35 285/35 and spacers in the rear to make up for the high w212 rear offsets. Also a good subtle oem look
Do you know if 2013 e350 sport rims fir my 03 E55? Offset is 48 on w212 rims vs. 30,39 on my e55. I dint have any experience swapping rims, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have a 05 e55 with the 5 spoke wheels , you showed . I have the cord showing on the front tires , from the inside . My mechanic said , either something is rubbing while turning , or the angle is wrong and wearing on inside from mis -alignment . Got any knowledge on this , love the look of these 5 spoke rims , but have had to replace 1 wheel from rear and 1 front wheel from cracks ,and tire replacement from pot holes and slow leaks on rims , said rims are 19 " , as it came stock with 18 " rims . Slow leaks have ruined 3 tires from run flat , and not noticing it , I fly airplanes and now do a pre drive inspection every time I get ready to drive . Any suggestions ? Brilliant silver and black , cause it has two sunroofs , incase you wanted to know , one of the nicest cars Ive ever owned , but my area where I live is pothole city .
Great vid beautiful car. I have a w207 e550 and am thinking of moving into this older car for better performance. Do you recommend using links or is a lowering module they sell on Amazon any good for these cars?
Hi AMGmeister, I'm looking at a set of SL63 SL65 rims for my 2005 E55, i don't know what years those rims are from, these rims don't have the little bolt heads going around the rim like the rims you show here
With the lowered suspension it looks like on any bump the tires would hit the fenders. Do they have the freedom of movement in all directions with this size?
Can you do a video on inner edge of front tire wear with negative camber on the W211 E55? I'm tired of throwing away new looking Michelins at 25% of supposed treadwear life. No Problem on rears. Dealer says my alignment is fine and negative camber on front is there by design. Thanks.
I have the same problem........my wallet is also tired of paying one set of front-tires every summer :( . I HATE IT!It's very dangerous too!........going high speed on autobahn up to 300 km/h in a car that is built for high speed......wtf did they think of!!!!! There must be a solution for this DANGEROUS problem.
Love your car, thanks very much for sharing the information. I haven't had any luck finding a set of SL550 wheels unfortunately, or SL65 for that matter. Since they look like factory wheels, just with more aggressive offset, I should be able to cheat the look by adding a...5-6mm?...spacer? Let me know your thoughts.
@@AMGmeister Yes, unfortunately but since I can't find the SL wheels I will have to settle for the smaller tires so that I can at least have the look...you were very luck finding those wheels! Do you agree with the approx. 6mm spacing?
I have a CL55 C215 with ET44 8.5 x18" fronts and 9 x 18" rears. Can I put SL55 AMG alloys on the CL if they are ET28 8.5"x19" fronts and 10"x19" rears? Any help appreciated.
What wheel setup do you have or would like to have? Leave a comment.
Hey do you get rub when turning sharply? And how much lower is your car than stock. Thanks!
sorry just a stupid question, would stock e55 rim fit a 285 tyre? simply want a bit more grip but hard to find good ang rim local. thanks

19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 10 rears Rotfiorms with a +35 offset.
do you remember how much you adjusted your lower links?

Bro, your smoothass voice with that soothing music can lull any nigga to a blissful dream. No homo
I'm running Konig Renform wheels on my 06 E55 AMG, so much lighter than stock. My problem is I kept cracking the stock wheels

Option one that you mention are the bomb for a w211 and the second option will i take for the winter.👍🏻
my tire setup is really bald tires in the back, err i mean racing slicks
My favorite stock wheels ever are the SL600 wheels, popular with the VW crew unfortunately...

w211 facelift amg sports package offered also nice 18" wheels. Similar to the cls55's wheels.

The w211 is a great car, you can use stock airmatic suspension or you can go for coilovers.
@amgmeister For daily driving in Los Angeles, would you go with 18s or 19s?

Question. Putting bigger wheels, don’t you need longer bolts? If so, can you recommend some please. Thank you
You should do another updated video on this
Front Wheel Size:19" x 8.5" 30mm Rear Wheel Size:19" x 9.5" 31mm will these numbers work?

Tony A. Stop buying Michelins, look at Achilles tires.

me too man, Achilles tires are $150 for a pair, Z-rated. thank me later.
Getting cheaper tires doesn't solve the problem....
Its the way the car is setup, its not really a problem. I've put 100,000 miles on mine in 3 years, its just part of ownership.
Bro what do you think what is better for daily drive, C32 W203 or E55...Fuel economy is not a problem both fit 17 litres/100km...
would the special SL65 that are 19x10 in the rear with a more aggressive offset fit the w211?

Yes you could, although you would still be stuck with the smaller tires width wise.

boosted300 try 6mm front, 8mm back

I love AMG monoblock wheels.
There are the same design wheels I am looking at and they are 8.5 and 9" with an et of +44 all around. Will these fit my 04 e55??
Would a 19x8.5 ET 35 and a 19x9.5 ET42 work ok with a stock suspension? Thanks for your help!!
Instant like
What is the diameter of the front brakes on the e55? I know the rotors are 360mm but what is the diameter including the brake caliper?
Can you make more driving videos? I like your videos
Aaa Zzz WORD
haha i second that :D
What do you think about Carlsson 20in RS DE turbines?
Have u got a full tour/review of your e55 AMG?
which brand lowering links did you go with?
Any comment on how the 2007 sl550 wheels on your E55 would look on a non-lowered E55?
How is yours ride quality on this? I just lowered on links and the ride is nasty.
Sexy E55! AMG BABY, YEAH!
Do they fit o. E350?
What about the vossen cv3?!
Issa nice Benz. Plain as it could ever be. But fu#k it looks so damn good.
Do you have the part numbers on those wheels by chance?
are you on coilovers?
Does anyone knows how much each stock e55 amg wheel weights? front/back
What do you think of aftermarket setups like bbs, rotiform, etc?
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
can i do 225/45/18
Umm u could just put spacers on the e55 rims
That's true but it's always preferable to run without spacers. Also, the wider rims allow you to have wider tires without them bulging too much.
Love you videos but the taste for wheels is soo year 2000 :D
