  • I got the opportunity to experience the world's highest and lowest tides whilst on a "The Ultimate Bay of Fundy Tour Experience" with the brilliant Anna-Marie Weir of "Roads to Sea" Guided Tours.
Whilst on the tour, Anna-Marie was able to demonstrate to me how a Maritimer eats their lobster. Good Luck!
My tour began and ended in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Actually, I have my own "fool-proof" method of eating a whole lobster but, I do enjoy watching other's approaches to tackling the king of crustaceans. Your video is one of the best. Thank you.

My work put on a lobster feast for us in Vancouver, BC. One of the guys there was from Burgeo, a fishing town in Newfoundland. He must've devoured about four lobsters, innards and all, while the rest of us were still fumbling around trying to break the claws off. 😂

When I remove the tail from the shell I use a dinner fork and work my way down to the very end. That way, when I remove the tail the meat from the flippers comes with it. I admit the only part of the lobster I like better than the tail is the tomalley. Bravo! She knows the secret of lobster meat hiding in the pockets on the inside of the body. It is something I have known about for decades and wish I could remember how I learned about it. I will have to wait until July 4 before I dine on steamed Maine lobster, the best meal ever and a grand way to celebrate Independence Day.

I'm from AZ and love lobster, next time I get the chance to have some probably my birthday because it's so dang expensive here, I will try and remember the body and tail fin meat. Already knew about the legs which is good too. And I know about the tomalley (almost autocorrected to tamale, a Mexican food haha) and yuck! And I devein the tail too. I've gotten one almost as big around as my pinky once 😖

I liked watching Gordon Ramsey using a rolling pin to get the meat out of the little legs and looked much better than squeezing it out with my teeth. I also devein the tail. Oh, I live in Tucson while my sister lives in Connecticut. She gets lobster for $8 a pound. I sure wish I could, too.

Ya know, I'm not from the Maritimes, but I get every bit o' meat outta one of those. The legs + the body meat can be up to, and even over 1/4 of the meat, especially on hard shells, not shedders. Tomalley is fine for flavoring bisque, but I don't really crave it. Same with coral...not necessarily my thing, but the rest of the meat is mine! Anything less would be to disrespect the lobster.

Lobster is very good. King crab legs are even better, in my opinion. Lobster is cheaper. I'll give you that.

      Hi there!
      Here are the details:
      Harbour View Market & Restaurant
8598 Main St, Alma, New Brunswick E4H 1N5, Canada
I believe the locals know it by a different name and there is also another seafood restaurant across the road but Anna-Marie definitely recommended this one and it was worth it :)
You can go there directly (on your way to the Bay of Fundy) or take a tour with Anna-Marie who was an AMAZING guide.
      Enjoy!

When I eat lobster or crab legs, I always use a surgical scissors to remove the shell. Try it some time.

Terrible. 2 minutes just to get a claw open. Tearing off the baby legs she ain't even gonna eat.. why bother with them at all?
A lobster that small you eat the claws and then some of the body meat and save the tail for last, the rest is for the trash. Not worth the effort tearing those little legs off and stuff.

You clearly didn’t watch the entire video. She did eat the legs. Sometimes it’s not about the quantity but the process of eating shellfish. Some people like eating all parts and some just focus on the chunks that are in the claws and tail. To each their own. If you don’t like the video, you should keep your negativity to yourself. Especially since you don’t have a video up of your own.
