It's funny when you think about it. Having Earplugs Lv5, you - a Horn main are literally a Beethoven.
Earplug isn't for the monster, it's for the atrocity that's about to be playing.
Love this headcanon for the Earplugs L song... It must be so bad, you go temporarily deaf.
hehe this was such a good and fun build. but I do have some recommendation for the upgraded version. i called it ultimate healer lol. this build and set basically for late game and iceborne, since it needs some of IB mats for upgrade and such. okay so I will list the build:
1. for armor: you need Kulve Taroth Beta + since equipping this full sets will give you: Guts and Free Meal Secret bonus skill. And also please augmented the armor so you can upgrade it even more.
2. and for decor, since we're using the beta armor set, we can get a lot of decor/jewel slot.
Headpiece: 2 Earplug+4 and 1 satiated jewel 1
Body Armor: 1 Earplug/Vitality+4 and 1 Brace jewel 3
Armguard: 1 Sonorous jewel+4 and 1 Steadfast jewel+4
Coil/Skirt: 1 Brace/Vitality jewel 4 and 1 Flawless jewel 2
Footgear: 1 Brace/Vitality jewel 4, 1 Steadfast jewel 1 and 1 Satiated jewel 1
3. For weapon: you can bring any of your dooting equipment and with whatever the decor! since you need to change weapon often to exploit the monster. but I do suggest to augment your weapon as much as you like, either for attack, affinity or so. more stronk.
4. For charm: just used the Friendship Lvl 5 charm as OP suggested.
5. For Mantle: I suggest bring something that will help you, not the party. like vitality+ or element-proof mantle etc.
6. Item to bring besides OP recommends:
a.) Greatsushi fish scale+, I heavily I recommended this. you can bring 5 but with free meal skill it will hold out much longer. it restores full health, natural healing boost and stops bleeding. and you just chew it not chugging it, much faster.
b.) Whetfish fin+, if you're like me who likes doing Echo Attack. The weapons sharpness drains a lot, especially if you're low on white sharpness bar. with this item, you just need to sharp once and restore full sharpness. While your team bullying the monster, this item will quickly make you stronk once more. And sometimes it didn't decrease when using. You can bring 5, but its more than enough.
so this build will give you:
Defense: 1101
Earplug: 5
Wide-range: 5
Stun resistance: 5
Health Boost: 3
Critical Boost: 3
Peak Performance: 3
Free Meal: 3
Speed Eating: 3
Flinch Free: 3
Horn Maestro: 2
no slot skill wasted :D
and you can be a friggin bardbarian who hit like a truck while also keeping your teammates safe by buffing (horn) and healing (item). so no time wasted also! I use this for Alatreon and carted once lol, so I think this build is okay. hope it helps for those dedicated healer haha

Even just the chestplate, isn't it better if you build the alpha one instead of the beta? while the rest of the armor would still be all beta
@@terrone6142 hello, thank you for your input. for me i rarely use alpha set else if the skill bar in alpha is more advantageous. i like using beta set eventhough with somewhat less skill but give you more decor slot. and im kind of an OCD skill slot lmao. kinda annoys me with empty slot even if its just one. and tbh i havent tried using alpha set yet, maybe I'll try it so thank youu
but if you prefer to mix and max your own build then its okay, since i know that decor farming can be hell, i know that feeling of that damnable rng. its just that i showed my comfortable and best set of healer for end game player hehe

@@aquCHAOS in defense of the mushroommancer skill, consuming a shroom is as quick as popping a might seed, witch outplays normal health potions if you wanna just top off a peak performance player. also I think devils blight still works with WW, so you can prep mounters with slower stamina drain to stall a mon by just sitting on its back, toadstools would be great for ruiner nergi and other bleeding bois, "does it also provide antidote? idk" I can't speak for nytro and perra cause I don't know if they fixed it so it can stack with seeds, so if you wanna pop shrooms, id recommend either lv1 or lv3.
Toadstools at least in my experience don't work exactly like Astera Jerky which has 3 effects: remove bleeding, heal all recoverable health (red portion of the bar) instantly and make your health recover faster for a short period of time. In my experience it works exactly like an immunizer, so toadstools do not heal bleeding or recoverable health instantly they just give the recovery speed effect. One of my favourite things is to combine this immunizer effect with the Recovery Up (L) melody. The healing rate is ridiculous, but the downside of course is that it only heals the red portion of the bar so 50% of the damage that you take. Unless you have Super Recovery. And no, Nitroshrooms don't stack with Might Seeds since they're the exact same effect. Might Pills and the armour counterpart of this also override the seed effect, so when the pill runs out 45 seconds later you need to reapply the seed/Nitroshroom which has simply led me to never using them despite the fact that on paper then seem really good for a Wide range user like me

thanks so much for this build! I can understand those of you arguing for a pure offensive HH build, b/c you're good at dodging roars, and never getting hit so no need for earplugs and stun negate. So many times I'd get stunned leading to 1HKO. Public teammates invariably have the pure offensive meta, and they're always getting stunned and carted.
Fighting Shara Ishvalda with the offensive build led to 0% success rate (out of 5 or so hunts) - frustrated, when I tried your build (replacing the head piece with bazelguese for earplugs, since I didn't have access to MR Zorah), out of 10 Shara Ishvalda hunts (for those tenderplates), total of only 2 carts (therefore 1 cart every 5 hunts), due to my constantly healing the team, leading to 100% success rate. We forget that we don't have brilliant hunters when we go on random hunts all the time!
Lastly in defense of aquChaos, this is a fountain of life build, and does pretty good damage, of course not at the level of expert HH speed runners - again this is for the average player like me. The note prior to echo note is about 100, and each hit of the echo note also appeared to be around 100, doing 600 in that combo, which is pretty respectable damage.
I just noticed my team doing incredibly better when they're not carting all the time. I also feel kind of a bad ass when I heal my almost dead teammates on my way to playing echo note on the monster's head!
It's always argued that if you want healing support, main SnS, but at the same time, unlike the HH, SnS can't buff the team's attack and defense by 20%, which is the beauty of the HH!

Thank you for this build @aquChaos. At the end of the day, people need to play what and how they want to play. Some have squads that could use a little support to push them over the top and i think this will be very beneficial to them... Especially when learning the new monsters as they come out. Keep doing what you do and don't let anyone tell you that you can't!

i tried this build. 90% similar but still a walking fountain. such a godsend variety of utility, but after constantly playing this. i sure have to tell you guys. my skills have diminished so greatly that i have adapted to always getting hit when running different sets lmao

Awesome build! Made a little tweak with safi weapon to get Divine Protection 5 for more godlike feel, loving it!
So, imo your support HH build is pretty good, you have all the right skills etc, But imo it wouldn’t be a bad idea to fit in some offensive skills too to balance out your dmg output. Like say the way I changed your build up here is this: replace the Tigrex chest piece with the Rex Roar Mail B+, (for attack boost 2 and weakness exploit 1, plus you keep the same amount of slots and the free meal secret.) then replace the stun resist jewels and the earplug jewels you have slotted in for 3 Crit boost and 2 Tenderizer. So with this build the way it is with the tweaks I’ve made to it you keep the wide range 5, speed eating, and free meal 3. But gain Crit boost 3, weakness exploit 3 and attack boost 3, improving your dmg output greatly while keep the esthetic of the build in tact. Hope you see this person who made this build. I think your build great but also felt like it needed to be tweaked a bit.
Crit boost is not really effective unless you got 100% affinity wich i doubt he has
Vincent Tribout true, but when he does crit he’ll still deal more damage than if he didn’t have Crit boost so I think it still helps. Especially since this is a support build so you can’t really fit in Crit eye without sacrificing other stuff in the build.
Imo i don't think Hunting horn is a good support weapon it's great at damage but the second you put it away to heal your teamates you lose so much damage
Vincent Tribout Yea, the SnS is allot better for a support weapon because you can use your healing stuffs with your weapon still out. Pretty, while with the HH yea the buffs are nice to have but you can get stuck trying to perform a song (yea you can side roll out of it but you still have to deal with the sheath time.) you can’t quickly react to someone taking dmg with the HH as quickly as you can with the SnS.
Black _Heart74 i didnt even consider the brute tigrex stuff i hadnt unlocked yet, i was feeling kinda the same about this vid as well. I have a build (made up of tigrex and blackbelt armor, giving me capture master as a sided bonus) that has the free meal 3, health boost 3, wide range 5, speed eating 3, item prolonger 3, partbreaker 3, earplugs 3, horn maestro 2, attack boost 4, mushroomancer 2, and i think something else and i felt like my build was really up there in terms of utility. However, realizing i havent even unlocked everything makes me want to grind out the lands even more so i can experiment even more with armors.

I have wide range and mushroomancer in my build. True you can't use mandragora on the team but it is useful if you need to heal yourself in a pinch. You can also use the other mushrooms effects to buff the team even more, Toadstool - Immunizer, Nitroshrrom - Demondrug, Parashroom - Armorskin, and Devils Blight - Dash Juice. I understand you can use Armorskin and Demondrug drinks, but the mushroom counter parts are easier to farm. Although this is an amazing build for both Attack and Heals.

Carried so many teams with this build
This build helped me a lot, I tried it last night and it's effective, we managed to finish a quest with only 1 cart (after tempered zinogre oned shot my team mate) and the rest was smooth. I just need need to hit zinogre when he's down because I'll not get any reward if I'll just buff my team mates alone.

great build but for your items add whetfish fin+ one of them lasts me a full mission most of the time and makes sharpening mid fight real easy as its like having max speed sharpening without any wasted slots.

I've found out that ice res, defensive focused builds laugh at that banshee's wails, it's normal moves only tickled me and its heavys only provide a patheic pimp slap while i'm stacked with buffs. and if you're worried about solo damage then pack in some palico rally, and if you got a fire kinsect ready then spam your buggy friend over the monsters face for 80 dmg per pop "if you've set it up properly, check out Weiss video on true imortal if you still have questions""

Hey, there! Always great to see another from the doot doot crew! I personally don't like support horn, but I won't try to dissuade you from it if you're having fun. I've just always liked being more of the bardbarian.
As far as the health boost melody, it's not a bug. The melody is treated like buffs gained from nutrients/max potions/canteen meals, so it'll stack with vitality gems and nothing else. It's generally a worthless song, since everyone should have max potions anyway. Red/blue has a really good song set regardless.
I dont find it entirely worthless. If the song is inactive and you play it when someone took damage, it heals them for a bit. I generally dont encore it so the buff wears out, as encoring it only extends the effect, which is not where the initial heal comes from. It is also useful for those times someone does cart, and you can't be sure if they did use a max potion to top off their health, leading to the snowball carting of the one already struggling. It is super niche but i find myself playing it more often than wind pressure neg(very very useful on some fights, generally unplayed though).
Look at the vaients availible. Ive been using a similar setup thats a mix of Tigrex/Brute Tigrex with Garuga legs for much more offensive potential while keeping the wide range build. Going to suggest you look at other Horns though. You only need attack up, def up and hp/stam increase are not very good in the long run. Elemental res up far out performs def up for example.

the health boost notes are counted as eating for health - you still need the health boost skill in your equipment
5:24 health boost song, food, max potion, shrooms etc are not supposed to stack, it's not a bug. the only way you can reach 200 max hp is by using 3 vitality decorations

How do I get the Zorah headgear B+? I'm at the guiding lands and I still don't have it.
i know its been ages since upload, but I just came back and wanted to try horn support from my old main HBG, but i cant tell what the consumable's is anymore, could someone help?
I reconize the healing pots/honey, traps/tranq bomb, talisman, but the "wide-range" buffs is gone from me
HH is my fav weapon :D You can also use GS or SnS for support and get tons of damage.
I do have a question if you or anyone can answer. but why use the sforzando 3 when you can use the sonorous eisfyl which has MORE attack and it has the exact same notes? Yes, it might have a level 4 slot rather then 2 one slots but if you have a level 4 steadfast wouldn't it be better to go with the better weapon? or is it because of the augment slots could be different?

Hey everyone! i know its probably a long time since folks watched, but i have a question. I do not currently have the sonrous 4 jewel, but i do indeed have two smaller doot jewels. would i be able to acheive the same effect by replacing the vitality with another sonorous jewel? thank you!
you probably already got the answer, but by sacrificing the health boost you get fewer health bar, default heath bar is 100 if im not wrong, then you must eat before battle to boost your health, if you choose the max50 hp food then your temporary health would be 150 which is quite decent in fight.
so i think its okay to replace but you must remember to eat before quest or eating max potion/ancient potion so this build would still the same even though you sacrifice the health boost. cheers and play that sweet sweet music peeps

I really like to try mix tigrex's free meal and gold rathian divine blessing, but looks like we need some expensive lv 4 jewel for it 😅. I agree, the stun resistance is must go for me ;-;

I use the trex set plus diablos set the new weapons let me get to slugger level 4 so gg

Only thing I would change is have Friendship Charm 5 and replace the friendship jewel with quick sheathe so I can react faster XD. And a Satiated/Expert for extra damage XD
So this build is a nice beginners build. For those that want to min-max here's my upgraded version which provides everything in this build and added defense for even more survival. This is only possible thanks to the Safi-Jiiva update. The best thing about the Safi Horns is that the elements are not hidden which really opens up a lot of opportunities.
The weapon of choice is the Safi's Bindhorn for the paralyze status ailment. But you can go for whatever suits you the best. The awakened abilities I chose for it: Attack Melody III which gives you the same music list as the Sforzando III
Slot Upgrade IV
Tigrex Essence which allows us to equip better gear (only slightly)
Status Effect Up V
Defense Increase V
Augments - Defense Increase I, Slot Upgrade I, and Ele/Status Effect Up I. We don't need regen as we are relying on potions
The helmet is the Damascus Helm B+ which we use for the defense up level 3 which is much more valuable than flinch free 1 from the Zorah Magdaros Helm B+ in my opinion.
Next we Keep the Tigrex Mail B+, Fellshroud Braces a+, and the Tigrex Tassets B+. I only use better decorations.
Next the Greaves we use are the Esurient Greaves B+ for one extra skill, just for the min max. we don't need tigrex greaves since we have the safi augment. Lastly we upgrade friendship charm to V.
The decorations
Weapon - Steadfast Jewel+ 4, Defense Jewel 1, Hard Defense Jewel 4
Helm - Earplug/Vitality Jewel 4, Sonorous jewel 1, Gobbler jewel 1
Mail - Earplug/Medicine jewel 4, steadfast jewel 1
Braces - Cooling jewel 2, Satiated jewel 1 x 2
Tassets - Hard Fire Res Jewel 4 or Brace 3, Vitality jewel 1 x 2
Greaves - Satiated/Evasion Jewel 4, Sonorous Jewel 1
This gives us
Defense Boost 7, Earplugs 5, Wide-Range 5, Stun Resistance 3, Health Boost 3, Recovery Up 3, Flinch Free 1/Fire Resistance 3, Free Meal 3, Speed Eating 3, Horn Maestro 2, Heat Guard 1, Stamina Thief 1, and Evade Window.
You can change the Hard Resistant Element Jewel 4 for whatever monster you are fighting or Use Brace 3 for the flinch free 1 which is less important in my opinion. This build specifically is for the Safi Siege. You can change the cooling jewel for warming depending on which area you are in. Same build but tankier and has options for better quality of life. @@Darrys this is a supp build so youre not really attacking much. as this build is under the condition of you playing with dumbass randoms that just run in and attack like mongoloids. still you can go what you like. this is just my preference as i really only play with randos

Here are some HH tips:
Health Boost just maxes out your life bar (like a max potion) and heals 10% of the teams life when activated. It's not a bug.
Songs you've played do NOT trigger on other players when initially out of range. You have to replay them when they are in range. (There is a small, blue icon which shows you if they are. wide range lvl 5 has the same area of effect lower levels of wr has a significantly smaller effect area)
The dragon echo wave is heavily affected by the dragon attack skill and element up songs and has the same base damage as the elementless + its element damage on top. It does not crit tough. Timing and using your movement while performing is key. know your movement options.
It can also be played thrice and then empower it to wake up a monster with a very powerful hit. You can hit around 1.1k with an highly offensive set.
The Echo-Spin is very powerful. If a monster evades it before you start spinning you can roll out of it. Unlike the echo wave it is affected by crit.
If you play support make sure your team doesn't suck entirely. Or you just waste time drinking potions all day without upkeeping your songs. I see it alot that HH supporters just struggle keeping the buffs and heal. People get too dependant and careless with item suport.
Health boost is HIGHLY recommended, as well as stun resistance (depending on your hunting horn)
Kushalas wind pressure is only negated by the song "All wind pressure negated" not "wind pressure negated"
Earplugs S = Lvl 2
Earplugs L = Lvl 5
Fun fact: The Wolf-Shamisen is the only weapon in the entire game that can get to 100% affinity without weakness exploit. It just needs one Affinity Augment, Crit eye 7 and attack boost 4 or 2 affinity augments (but i prefer life steal)
@Alexander Smerz Kushala has a special wind pressure unlike lunastra. You can still get knocked back by it's aura if you just play wind pressure negated and not "all wind pressure negated". Just some of it's pressure is less obnoxious.
New Kulve taroth beta makes this set possible: horn maestro 2, widerange 5, free meal 3, speed eating 3, enduring 3, peak performance 3, critical eye 7 & critical boost 3, none element boost & boulduger (charm)

I just built this and only got speed eating lvl 2. How did you manage to get lvl 3 with only one gobbler decoration?
I tried this build and I'm SO squishy! Elder dragons are a no-go, Ruiner Nergigante and anything tempered just... laughs. It's nice having practically unlimited potions, but I spend so much time running and chugging that I can't get any damage in.
I'm sure once I practice HH more and can "do the dance" this may improve (I've played IG almost exclusively until now, so I've got some work to do on I-frames since I've been able to just... fly away for my whole career.), but man! taking 50% of my health for every moderately strong hit is a DRAG.
However, my team ALWAYS stays alive, at least until I cart and "the fountain" has to run back to the fight :P
I still don't have MR Zorah helm. Is there a helm I can use for this build for the time being? Thx!
actually any 3 slots helmet can be the replacement, the Zorah does not contribute too much besides its slots
Can also go vaal beta for that 2p regen, not much but can help.
Since you don't have blight res, could go slot augment on weapon and use velkhana helm for coalescence. 90 sec atk/ele/status buildup boost after every abnormal status recovery.
Otherwise aim for a helm with a t4 slot for dual skill deco and helpful stats to alleviate decos used or go for crit boost or weakness exploit to outweigh the swapout of elementless.
Guiding lands opens the door further with gold rath and brute tigrex pieces, can slot in miasma resist for further uninterruption.

Health boost (L) song stack only with Health boost skill. But not with max potion nor kitchen health buff. That not a buff.
So it's not useless as some people don't take hp buff before entering the fray.
Ok, probably dumb question from a player who has never played HH. Why did you choose the HH you did for this build? I see there are different notes available to different horns, is this simply the best one for the notes you need?

The skill widerange/friendship turns you into the team cleric/healer. You can literally out heal the monsters' damage faster than they can deal it. Unless it's a one shot hit.

If you want to get good at horn, dont use a support build. I mean, you can if you really want to, but horn best supports the team by killing the monster real fast. I'm a horn main and I always hunt solo with horn anyways, its easier to get KOs solo and you can just focus on dps
This is nice video but having 1800 attack doesn't necessarily define to outputting considerable amount of damage. A weaker hunting horn with 50% affinity, tenderizer and critical boost will outdamage a horn without those skills. Simply adding weakness exploit to an armor set will significantly increase your dps. Not trying to be mean or anything but I'm just stating that there are other variables that affect damage than one piece of information shown on your weapons current attributes screen.
You can achieve "50% affinity, tenderizer and critical boost" along with all the support skills too!? Where's this build, I must have it!!!
@@6kunio8 My comment is referring the video stating "do tons of damage to the monster" whilst also mentioning having 1800+ attack. This information is misleading since there are absolutely 0 offensive skills on the armor set. But if you really want to build support set with damage, I would recommend Lunastra's HH tree, the Soulfire Chorus "Blaze." It has innate 20% affinity, a level 2 slot and one level 1 slot. And the only skills you really need for support are widerange and speed eating.
@@db-xz8ng aaaaahhhh, shucks. It's true, as a stat it doesn't mean much since alone it doesn't determine overall dps/effectiveness. Yeah, I missed the "tons of damage" quote, an exaggeration. But comparatively to other support builds, bigger numbers maybe I guess?
@@6kunio8 Any horn with attack up large melody at base can be encored to Extra Large or XL giving "all" weapons in the party including palicos a flat 20% increase in base attack. Arguably the most beneficial song for a party and solo (if you decide to use a horn). It's not limited to maximum stat caps such as elemental attack up. So, as far as this build presented, it is only for support. While I feel you should be able to play anyway you want, complete reliance on support roles will hinder oneself from gaining experience on how to avoid attacks verses "tanking" through it.

With the randomness and diversity of players knowledge and skills, not everyone is going to be able to handle their own, for whatever variety of reasons. Build to your style and to your situation/team. This type of build/play style is definitely not for everyone, but helping others that aren't that good/serious succeed can be rewarding/gratifying.

Are you sure you have Satiated up to level 3 and the 3 parts Tigrex for Free Meal Secret? There is another set of armour now that gives free meal secret from Master Rank Kulv Taroth. This might be worth getting.
@@Windywoo yes i realize the set you posted was set b even tho it gives the secret it does not give the free meal, set a does, i got set a and now working on mixing it with mushroom manser and friendship to have multiple options since the mushroom manser items are instant is faster and mixed with the free meal its basically instant heal instead of short period, in end game groups my group cant die and the buffs stack up so with music reg potions buffs and manser buffs its ridiculous
