    I needed invisible stitches on a section of a quilt I am quilting on my sewing machine. I just happened to remember that I had a spool of monopoly thread from years ago! So I thought well, it’s worth a try. I don’t even know why I had the spool. I didn’t have much so I wound it on my bobbin. Colored thread on top was ok to use for this project. I wound the bobbin on a slow speed hoping that would prevent any trouble. It was wound perfectly. Placed the bobbin where it belonged and did my quilting. Everything turned out perfectly! I’ve since watched quite a few videos about invisible thread. I ordered a spool of clear and smoke. I am looking forward to using then on an appliqué project! Thanks for your expert information. Oh yes. The thread net. That is a brilliant invention too. I ordered some as well.

    Thanks Corey, for the tip about the thread net. I never knew that and never figured it out on my own! Sad but true. So glad you're around.

      You two are the bomb! Always fun to watch. Makes me MISS y’all and Texas! Great info. As a beginner, I discovered winding my bobbin with nylon caused the size of my bobbin to change 😱 That happened with Bottom line too! Learned my lesson, loosen the tension on my bobbin winder and adjust with my Towa gauge. Hope that helps any newbie reading this thread. (Pun intended! 😄) My go to is now Bottom Line or Sew Fine in the bobbin.
      Thanks again guys! 💞

    I use Superiors thread to machine sew labels on quilts.

    I've been making rope bowls & used Coats & Clark Invisible in bobbin too, but on 3rd bowl the bobbin started to jam. Would the Superior Poly work for that taking into account you can see the outer bowl which is the bobbin. My machine likes 60 wt thread in bobbin. I read somewhere that if using a plastic bobbin invisible thread can cause bobbin to warp. I don't want to see the zig zag on most bowls. Any suggestions are helpful...Thanks & great info. I love Superior Titanium needles.

    Hi, I have a project where I plan to use a Sulky 30 wt cotton Blendable in the bobbin to match my backing. The top is raw edge fusible applique and I want to use the smoke Monopoly from Superior Threads . Do you think that will work? Thank you.

      I apologize for missing this question! The 30 wt may be a little too heavy with the 100wt monopoly on top. I would advise use a 50 or 60wt in the bobbin:)

    does this thread do "old"? i have some from years ago and even have a full bobbin from years ago. should i go for it or pitch it. i know you sell thread but wondered if you had any experience with older thread?

    When using Monopoly do you loosen your upper tension? Did you say you use a size 18 needle? Thank you for the great videos!!

    • @LindasElectricQuilters

      Hi Terri! Yes, use a size 18 and I would start with the tension that you already have set and lower if necessary.

    What is a size 4.0 or 5.0 needle size. I'm used to 90/14 or numbers like that.

    I'm doing a Quilt with a Red Background, an the top is red too, but it has white large snowflakes on the top, I'm not sure what to do here ? she doesn't want any white on the back, but i need to quilt the White snowflakes, can it look good with the Mono on top and red thread in the bobbin ?? Can't figure out how to accomplish this ?

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could do that, just make sure to use a poly in the bobbin case like Bottom line or Glide. Do a tester piece first to get your tension good.
