You know, ever since I saw Clannad, I never even gave Kanon a second thought. But playing the Visual Novel and experiencing Kanon again has made me appreciate it more. It honestly is just as great as Clannad, in terms of writing. Will definitely rewatch the 06 anime sometime, it has been so long since I had first seen it. I feel like I'll enjoy it more. You know, Key, the company that draws and produces the anime, makes such moving, sad stories that really change your aspect on life. Clannad, Kanon, Air, and Angel Beats are all prime examples of moving stories. I love it all, and I'm glad to have seen the majority of them.

I thought is would be romantic like Clannad i was wrong ever time he fall in love with some one they always disappear before his eyes.If i was him i would leave that place i mean really i thought him and that girl who was supposedly to be angel would be boyfriend and girlfriend.But that was before i found out she was angel. Is that town cursed or something? I mean like some one is always dying,hurt, or not human I mean like i always thought when your dead your dead people coming back but as angel.Also fox can turn to human what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But i still like this anime.

I love this anime, I just need to watch/ listen to the opening song and so many emotions react, I openly cried with this, its just so beutiful. Lately I have started getting manga and sudenly I was reminded by how Makito bought all those manga and I couldnt decide if I was happy or sad over remembering her. I have watched Clannad since, but I think I was still affected by Kannon more.

Jun Maeda works for Key, and he pretty much single-handly created the stories of clannad, kanon, angel beats and air. He actually wrote the music and lyrics for the animes and games, too.
Why are so many people arguing? Animes weren't made for the purpose of being better than the other. Clannad was made to show people the importance of family and since I just started watching Kanon, I don't know what the message is yet, but I bet it's teaching us something too.

Kanon, Clannand, and After story were by far the best series ever... they made me fell connected to the characters in only 24 episodes while other animes take like 100s of episodes...

its about the boy called yuuichi (sp) and he goes to this town where it constantly snow's and he dosent remember anything but as the story progresses he remembers more things, its amazing =D
that's completely fine. Everyone has different experiences and different likings. The reason i love clannad so much was because of clannad AS episode 18.

And the few scenes in Clannads intro in the first season suddenly becomes insane spoilers if when you finish watching Clannad After story. Key is just amazing, there's no question about it.

kanon 2006 comes in 2nd for the best anime ever created... Clannad + Clannad After Story destroyed me whole. it was amazing. it should be life. it was depressing it was sad, but it showed true happiness and gave me hope for the future. the emotion and drive behind it was unforgettable. Kanon 2006 just was missing something for me unfortunately but is still amazing in its own way.
Finished this series today and I thought it was amazing. Just wished there was more after that, maybe a second season or something. But that was definitely worth watching, maybe even a second time...
@LordofCruxis Yuichi is the male protagonist, the rest are support characters one is a guy the rest are girls usually pertaining to another specific main girl, an example is Mai and Sayuri, who are rarely seen apart, or Nayukis mom
i haven't seen clannad yet, but i am a huge kanon fan and i just love yuuichi aizawa. i can't really say whether tomoya will be a better lead male role, but i thoroughly enjoyed yuuichi's different relationships with all of his female friends. i don't think a person's suffering determines their worth, but rather what they do with themselves regardless of their situation. you can't say yuuichi hasn't been through a lot - he lost his memory for 7 years because of what happened to poor little ayu.
Kimi Ga Nozomu eien Is also another Romantic/Tradegy/Drama like Kanon it actually brought a few tears to my eyes at some points, which is hard for me to admit considering im a 16 year old boy who didnt even cry when my uncle passed away, (and yes we were very close.)
Love this song so much...I have the full length version on my iPod. Series is wonderful, of course. Definitely a tear jerker...love Ayu's and Mai's stories especially.
CLANNAD made me cry my eyes out!!! This story Kanon was just touching. I didn't cry or anything... But damn. For those who haven't, watch CLANNAD! Its so sad but has a happy ending.

Key Visual Arts are good at making tearjerkers films. Such meaningful stories and spectator visual. Totally recommended.
