- Sir Alexander Chapman "Alex" Ferguson, CBE (born 31 December 1941) is a Scottish football manager and former player who has managed Manchester United since 1986. His time at the club has led to Ferguson being regarded as one of the most admired and respected managers in the history of the game.
Ferguson is the longest serving manager of Manchester United, overtaking Sir Matt Busby's record on 19 December 2010, and the longest serving of all current League managers. He has won many awards and holds many records including winning Manager of the Year most times in British football history. In 2008, he became the third British manager to win the European Cup on more than one occasion. He was knighted in 1999 for his services to the game and also holds the Freedom of the City of Aberdeen.
On 8 May 2013, Ferguson announced his retirement as manager of Manchester United. During his 26 years at the club, he won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League and two UEFA Champions League titles.

Many people have split opinions of this man as a manager but think about this. His first years as a manager he won a title with st mirren. Then turned a struggling aberdeen side into a European force, beating real madrid to win the European cup winners cup. Releaseing celtic and rangers grip on the Scottish title winning it 3 times. Then going to man utd who were in mediocrity under ron acinson. When in 1999 he brought 3 major trophies in one season one a European cup. Making the comentators say the greatest team in the world have arrived. Under alex old Trafford truly was the theatre of dreams.

I am a pretty new member of the Manchester United fan club. I just started following the premier league since the start of 2018. That has been the best decision of my life. I have never felt so passionate as I feel when I watch Manchester United. I am so sad that I couldn't witness the days when the legend himself was at the helm. His legend is so intriguing and fascinating!

People like Sir Alex Ferguson come by once in a generation. It will be hard to find someone of his caliber and Busbys style. I couldn't stop thinking of the Busby Babes during this vid. Maybe it was due to the song The Impossible Dream. A dream that started 64 years ago and continues to this very day. Titles have been won over the years, titles in honoring the #Legends Sir Alex never forgot and brought the Busby style during his years as a manager. Sadly, I wasn't able to see all the PL games here in the States. Man Utd is and will always be my team.

Aside from all the success he achieved at Man Utd, let’s not forget what he achieved with Aberdeen taking them to two European trophies beating Real Madrid in 83 and also beating them European champions Hamburg for the Euro Super Cup in 83. Arguably an even bigger achievement with what was a small provincial football club is nothing short of astounding

From a Liverpool fan here, i admit, he's undoubtedly unmatched by any other Premier League manager, even Klopp! If Klopp has to do that, he needs to be at least for another three decades at Liverpool, but unfortunately it's not gonna happen 😂

He has been like a Second father to me . Not only did he show the way as a manager but also as a human being . I will tell my kids , my grand kids and for as long as i live proudly , that i was and will always be a part of Ferguson's Red and White army.

This is fantastic it was not all about Sir Alex's teams winning it was also the heartache some teams went through too, captures the emotion , the spirit , the determination of the man to succeed his way the Manchester United way, attacking and scoring so many late goals that brought joy to millions around the world
It is not just the "Fergie time", he was fearless - no matter what Manchester United was attacking and scoring, never afraid of losing but risking for the win! Just think how many player did he develop, not bought but created! I am Bulgarian and started following Manchester United about the time Sir Alex has become a coach there, not because of him but because I liked the name. And I cried when he went for a last time as a coach, cried with tears and I am not ashamed of that! And the greatest time of my sports life was when I went to play at Old Trafford once! Unbelievable, same turf Sir Alex walked on!!!
