The US has told the UK that they are no longer considered an elite fighting force. Saying that the army isn’t tier-one, it’s barely tier-two. It’s believed that the UK’s war-fighting capability has declined to such a level that the UK can no longer defend itself or its allies. The US added that it would take 5 to 10 years for the UK to build up a single division, and that the UK would turn up under strength in a conflict as well as being unable to defend its airspace.

They'll just have to buy it from the US when there country is about to be over run like WW2 that they just finished paying the US back a couple years ago haha
Doesn't the UK produce moat of its weapons? It's not the quality they're talking about, it's the quantity of it.
Do some research before you talk.
This is what America does all over the world. Sell weapons and in some cases by causing conflicts. For example they will send Ukraine some weapons and show them ‘oh look we are giving aid to Ukraine’ but then after giving a few samples they will force Ukraine to buy western weapons

Didnt the uk force america to surrender in a wargames exercise in 2021?
That was then and this is now. A lot of things have changed/declined/degenerated/pussified
The US also lets people win all the time, the point of those war games is so that US soldiers realize they can lose. Also, the US is place on very heavy handicaps for almost all war games. Japans navy can't beat ours ever, but in war games they did. For Christ sake the Germans beat us back in 2010 or so when in reality the national guard of Rhode Island has a better equipped and trained force than Germany.
@@pedanticchicken2117going to press x for doubt on that last one
Yea thats true. America has firepower and numbers. often in those wargames exercises some of their tactics and leadership gets exposed but thats what the games are about.
War games are specifically manufactured in such a way that the US or NATO (If its NATO vs Russia or China type war games) is given every form of disadvantage possible. This is to test how well the armed forces would do in case of the worst possible scenario. War games are also massive publicity stunts for the other nations', so that more people are inclined to support and join the other nations' military.
In reality, the worst case scenario is not very likely. But the saying is "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best"

Most of the UK would agree, to be fair. It's actually a huge problem in Europe that became clear with Ukraine, as said by some Europeans I have seen/chatted with.
Europe became comfortable with the idea that America would function as the front line should conflict emerge and invested more substantially in their own economies (and corruption lmao, Russia especially paid a LOT to politicians for their own power)
Now, with America relatively fractured on its own in terms of focus and agreement about conflict, America isn't going to be an eager front line, and much of Europe lacks the production capabilities and manpower to return to being the threats they were previously. Tbh UK has been in shit for quite sometime they got too comfy and screw themselves over by brexit and then fought basically amongst themselves to see who is bigger idiot
Instead of solving thier problems
To counter your argument, the UK isn’t anywhere near as invested (this isn’t a “duh” about defense spending), but as far as *technology* is concerned, this clip is *accurate*
Plus being how close America and the UK are most of the technology we develop is either jointly shared or purchased from us at a much lower price than others countries are offered
I'll take 10 guys with knives over one dude with a pistol.
Yeah, this has been a while coming. There have been a lot very strange choices made in the RAF. It's kind of one of those "I'm so desperate to prove I'm not racist that I accidentally did a racism." They lowered their admissions AND passing standards to "improve diversity". Somehow it didn't occur to them that they were basically calling POC inferior. Needless to say, this did not encourage skilled POC to join the RAF, it just caused the overall quality and competency of the military to degrade.
Why would it? British Army had a policy of martial races. We've always relied on a diverse roster. From Indian troops of the Raj to Polish fighter pilots in the Battle of Britain. Not a weakness, it's a strength.
@@ronaldcarr5686 The actual diversity in the UK is neither a strength nor a weakness. It's irrelevant. If the RAF allows every qualified person to join, then they will have access to all the people in the country that can meaningful and contribute. Those people will come from different backgrounds and so much the better.
What they did was lower their standards. That's rooted in the soft racism of lowered expectations. POC did not need the standards lowered. They just needed to do more outreach. By lowering the standards, they let in substandard recruits from every background including native English people who were not suitable for military service. As a result the RAF is no longer a 1st class military force.
Put the standards back, do community outreach. It's gonna take years, but it's imminently fixable.

For the most part, our military serves to "fix" whatever crises our intelligence agencies cause, and if we got rid of those too, we'd rarely need a standing army. As for Europe on the other hand, you guys desperately need strong militaries right now, and I think we should financially support them.
