Learning Your First Wakeboard Flip with Cole : Wake Board Invert

- Does going upside down on your wakeboard sound intimidating? Ride alongside with Cole as he takes his first wakeboard set behind the boat AND goes for a flip at the same time! He's ridden cable in the past, had some inverts at the time, can do a standing backflip, and a great all around athlete. My challenge to him was to make a flip today and I think he can do it in 3 or less tries!

Awesome! I can remember the mental barrier on my first flips. Cole was really laying them out on his first attempts, that was awesome to watch!
He's been doing inverts for 2-3 years at the cable park. So it's a bit different than your first attempts probably.
Just a year at the cable park when he was 12-13. But does make a difference. But I think the fact that he can do a standing back makes the biggest difference. That's way harder in my opinion

I ride in the obx behind a small flats boat, gonna try this one next time I’m home! Wake is a bit smaller and I haven’t done a backflip before any tips?
Sick! If you have a trampoline park w a foam pit around, that's a great way to learn a backflip to help give you air awareness.

About a year on cable when he was 12, so some, but first time behind the boat. Either way, I was impressed.
So I can easily land a standing backflip. But I can’t get the landing down on a tantrum. I feel like I’m landing with too much weight on my back foot. Also I’m riding behind a 07 ski Natique since I’m on a waterski lake.
Good question Kyle. How you land is generally how you takeoff so get more weight on your front foot on the takeoff. But smaller wakes can make tantrums a bit harder so I'd suggest the same flip Cole did here because it's so much easier on small wakes than a tantrum.
