But Dejohnette, no way. There's just no figuring out what he's doing most of the time (for me anyway). I actually got through the first chorus or so of the studio version of this tune before I gave up. Crazy stuff. Love that line up!

It is a tribute to Osby and to the composer of "EzzThetic", George Russell, who came up with the only truly original, complete music theory - The Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization - which has been very influential on many improvisers. It may sound atonal, but it is neither tonal nor atonal, precisely - The Lydian theory is quite involved, and you might get a kick out of researching George Russell.
