I always assumed Jormuntide Ignis wouldn't be good for combat. As far as a base Pal, he's amazing. My 4 Star Lucky/Artisan/Serious/Work Slave JI can bake a cake in about 4 seconds.

I'd say in my opinion hes worth breeding to be a chef/smelter at the base but not really worth it for combat. He lacks the speed or flight to give him the ability to dodge, and ends up being too much of a glass cannon to survive the hits he ends up taking.
And they're just too big. Consntantly getting stuck on things and can't attack because their stuck being too busy movin around trying to find space in the battle :/
I'm really glad to see this. It does seem like he hits harder but his lack of defense really hurts him more than you'd think huh? Though I still think the big thing that hurt him was the cooldowns and if you did the dismount thing it would've helped him do way better (Unless they patched that out) But it's good to see blazamut IS in fact stronger overall still. I think it's not as much the defense though as his half dragon type makes him neutral to ice vs resistant like blazamut. If good grass mons existed he might do considerably better but I'd say overall blazamut not having that issue is seemingly just what he needs to overtake the dragon. As always a fine video!
@@GamingFanatic-bx7fl Well you gotta think of it this way. during the cooldown of your attacks you can either dismount and let it run its own set of moves to get some damage in the time he isn't able to be ridden or you can just run around, take free hits and be open. When you dismount you also are taking some pressure off your mon because the boss has to split attention so it helps defensively as well as offensively and that's big for glass cannon mons in general. and ofc while on foot you still can shoot the boss too like you did spray in some shots there
@@rovvy221 well yes that's what i'm suggesting. it leaves a WAY lower "duck window" so to speak which is really important for certain elements that really have bad cooldowns such as fire or dark
I see your 100 across the stats on ignis with pure flame attacker passives and gave up on mine as of now Might make a chef/ smelter one instead. RNG on my game just hates me. Still having problems with Helzeph passing on full stats with Dark whisp to eventually pass onto Frosty Noct and Shadowbeak.
I feel like the comparison between Blazamuth and Jormuntide ignis comes down to a few factors and situations: Jormuntide having less defense actually does kinda balance out with the 2k extra health, as your pal passively heals during battle and Jormuntide will get more health each chunck than the blazamuth will and I'd say the worst defensive part about the Jormutide is actually his size and speed rather than the actual stats. The real difference comes from the matchup: for example frostallion will be a worse matchup for Jormuntide with him being part dragon, so he'll get 1x damage while blazamuth wil resist it and take only 1/2, but the opposite would be true when you're fighting a dark Pal, for example Shadowbeak or Necromus, so I still think there is an argument to be made to breed both of them. His best use is still going to be as a smelter/baker though. Nice video keep it up
that is a beautiful Jiggy... This one is a no brainer for me, it might even be the first pal worth getting 4 star. The biggest bottleneck in Cake is actually cooking the cake so having a Max Jiggy pushes the whole process forward. More cake is more eggs, and more ability to do everything else in endgame. Honestly if I had to restart the game I'd get to 20, then go spam Huge dragon eggs on the volcano so I could start spam breeding these guys as my first 4 star. Jiggy's combat stats are irrelevant in light of Cake.
I notice that in combat Jormuntide gets launched in the air a lot. It is maybe the most important base pal, but it just doesn't deliver in combat enough.
For the raid I like him over the mut as he can do both phases. For raid switching out flame for lucky + def food or Burly + atk food allows him to match mut (according to your video here) but with more versatility, note you wont be riding him. Riding him attack priority take more attention then mut due to size, on to of the atack timing with only using seed when you will have a fire skill up in time to take adv. Some sick hair dodging evasions there that 4:54 XD
Maybe swap out ferocious for burly body? But yeah it looks like for fighting Blazemut is better, so just get the best passive skills for work speed on Jormuntide Ignis and have him be your best cook/smelter at base
I Would, But i like to know what each pal does and how it runs and what the stats are b4 i give a good run down on them. Ive done full breakdowns of Pal sections like Weapon pals, healing pals, ext. Im working on applied damage pals atm. and then Elemental Enhancement pals after, but i ended up mixing up some of those in these passed videos. i fell like if i haven't bred, fought, worked, and have had a good few hours to analyzed the pal. Then i fell like i would be doing an injustice to the pals and the views if i give my thoughts on it. I could watch other ppls stuff but they could get something wrong or something they might have not see something. Ill see What i can do tho.
I have to admit i wish i never unlocked those goggles for ivs lol got plenty of 98 hp 96 att 97 def jormuns now but getting them with all 4 desired gold passives is a nightmare
Cant wait for flamethrower so i can ride my Jiggy or Suzaku and burn everything down. Hoping it works like that hahaha. I wonder if anyones tried the elemental grenades while riding on a pal that enhances elemental dmg?

Reminder rider pals can do more attacks when you are not riding them (separate cool down)
Yes But you lose the Buff for Fire attacks

Just use all the CD, dismount and remount.

Who is faster movement/to evade, Jormantide ignis or blazamut. i think that the movement speed will be a big factor
J tide is just a huge target as well. Blaza i think is faster. i really have not tested them side by side to see whos faster but as a guess, blazamut.

Jormuntide can be bred now. all you have to do is breed flame emperor into a blazehowl, catch or breed a Jormuntide and breed those pals
