Raptor could do with some restraint upgrades. What makes me laugh is that a good majority of their top 10 coasters, could be the big attraction for many, many other parks. I am completely spoiled by going to Cedar Point daily when they're open.
I went to the opening for the Magnum XL in 1989 on my honeymoon because I was young and crazy, lol... I have gone to ride all of their new coasters within a month of their opening and I'm here to say I am EXTREMELY spoiled by this park. Through my life I have gone to other parks and have been disappointed just because their coasters never add up or they only have 1 or 2 in the park that can compare. Cedar Point is THE park. So glad to have grown up in Michigan within a 2 hr. drive.
I consider Raptor to be a founding father of the inverts. It’s a lot older so it will have some problems that newer inverts don’t have, but B&M built something timeless
I also have mixed feelings about Magnum. However, I rank it at 4th place in the park and here's why. For one thing, the view from the lift hill is breathtaking and by far the best in the park. As for the ride experience, I find that the front and back are uncharacteristically not the best options on this coaster. I think that the final airtime hills are so oddly spaced and shaped and the train is so long that you actually have a disruption in the usual airtime timing. I find that the third car seems to be the sweet spot for me. The ride is smooth there and it's where the airtime isn't interrupted by the front car hitting thre next hill and slowing. In the third car it is a world class coaster in my opinion. But if you aren't in the third car it's underwhelming and sometimes even painful. The first time I rode it it popped my back just exiting the loading station. So it's hard to give it unqualified praise when it's such a seating dependent coaster. But I like it so much in the right seat that I overall rank it above TTD.
Wow... I thought I was the only one who felt this way about that 3rd car... I always run there and people look at me like I'm nuts. while they wait in the longer front and back lines.. I just smile and click my seat belt :)......... Ride.. then run back to the line because there is barely any que and do it one more time at the very least. 2 more times if I'm waiting for friends at the water park.
That’s interesting that you say that about Raptor restraints and that it’s hard to breathe. It makes me think that you prefer those hydraulic ones like on Valravn and Gatekeeper. In my opinion (i’m small though) those hydraulic ones suffocate me way more and Raptor restraints happen to be just perfect for me
I agree with most of this. One quibble, I like Blue Streak much more than you do, it's surprisingly quick and exciting. Also Blue Streak is the only old school woodie in the park, something any place calling itself "the roller coaster capital of the world" needs. I also like Gemini more than you, it's not a thrill ride but it races better than any coaster I've been on and does so on every run. That makes it really fun. The rest of the list seems about right to me. I even somewhat agree that Rougarou ad Gatekeeper are both better than most enthusiasts give them credit for.
I personally have Magnum at 3, Raptor at 5 and Dragster at 6, but agree with you on 1, 2 and 4. As usual, enjoyed your video. I appreciate that you aren’t ashamed to have different opinions and are able to justify them.

We all know that blue streak is the best roller coaster the air time is the best available and the line are short so you can keep on marathon it. And it’s a fun night ride to.

Hey, I've never been to Cedar Point. I've only ever been to Kennywood, and my #1 is Steel Curtain, followed by Phantom, then #3 is Racer. What do you think would be my top 3 at Cedar Point?
I'm gonna visit this park one day and see what all the fuss is about once and for all. My home park is Six Flags Magic Mountain, the only park that "supposedly" rivals Cedar Point. I don't want to jump to any conclusions just yet so I'll reserve my judgment until after i experience Cedar Point for the first time. Wish me luck.
I am going to list the roller coasters at Cedar Point from my favorite to least favorite out of the ones I rode. Before I get to that, here are the roller coasters I did not ride when I went to Cedar Point: Corkscrew, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Woodstock Express, and Wilderness Run. Now here are my Top 12 at Cedar Point: 1- Steel Vengeance 2- Millennium Force 3- Top Thrill Dragster 4- Maverick 5- Raptor 6- Valravn 7- Rougarou 8- Gatekeeper 9- Blue Streak 10- Wicked Twister 11- Magnum XL 200 12- Gemini
One thing that is kind of sad is that you never got to experience Blue Streak before they modernized it. It would never have topped anyone's list as a major thrill, but I really liked how it used to be. Nothing but a bar and a light, snappy train. The first time I rode it after the retrofit I was severely disappointed in the experience. At best I can now describe it as mediocre. Conneaut Lake Park used to be my home park so I have many rides on the other Blue Streak you mentioned. Probably been at least 25 years since I have been on it though. Considering the state of that park, I should make a point to get back to PA before it closes for good.

I’ve been to Cedar Point at least 5 times but I’ve always been to scared to get on the Top Thrill Dragster and in 2 weeks I was supposed to go again on an end of the year school trip, my friend and I had a bet going on over more than 6 months to see if I’d get on it and I’m really bummed out that it’s not going to happen this year.
I usually like going to places at off-times. But if I end up going on a weekday in May, will I need fast lane? Do I run the risk of rides not being in operation?
Yeah, I'm goingvto give it to you over Raptor. I'm 6'2" and it's comfortable to me. Raptor isn't just one of the best coasters at Cedar Point. It's one of the best ANYWHERE! Rougarou above Raptor? I have to question your judgement.
And btw could you please give me a good seat on Rougarou? I have ridden once in the middle and hated it but am very open to reride whenever Cedar Point is open again. I’ve heard front and back so can you confirm?
Blue steak being ranking where it is pissed me off, but when you had Rougarou ahead of Magnum and Raptor. Literally one of the worst rides in the park!

Yes, some of them jiggle your organs so bad, Gemini kills you. While I love Gatekeeper the restraints push on your hits so bad its painful. Also RIP Mean Streak
I rode gemini for the first time in the front seat in the red car iirc, it wasn't jerky at all, it was a smooth ride thru and thru, the mean streak on the other hand was near migraine inducing
Love the list! And I wish Magnum would be super consistent. My first ever ride on it, I was almost afraid to ride again, and then later that day I got two ride in row that were incredible. Now when I think of Cedar Point, going over Magnums second hill with a cool breeze, looking at the full moon on the lake, is one of my favorite moments ever at the park

The problem with your ranking system is that you identify a complaint about the ride that is unique to your visit or your situation and then you emphasize it with a ridiculous ranking change. It makes you look silly.

I love the fact that Maverick proved you don't need the tallest, fastest, most inversions, etc. to make a world class ride. Just be really REALLY good at what you do.
Good list! Very different from mine as Raptors restraints don’t bother me, where the vest restraints kill Valravn for me and I found Blue Streak to be quite good and Gemini is in my top 6.
the wicked twister is honestly one of my favorites. its in a great spot, there is never a line, and i think its super fun to sit in the seats at the front or back
Awesome vid, and great footage! Cedar Point is my homepark and I love to see what others think of our coaster lineup. Here's my list: 15. Corkscrew - who IS a fan of Corkscrew anyway? 14. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - good scenic ride, works really well as a family coaster 13. Iron Dragon - the forest setting is nice, though the pond-dive is for sure the best part 12. Rougarou - it's grown on me over time. A little rough but very forceful and unique layout 11. Gemini - yeah the drops are a bit jerky, but they're an intense kind of jerky, and it's awesome when it races 10. Wicked Twister - still freaks me out to this day. Great launches and weightless twisting 9. Blue Streak - fight me. 8. Valravn - I like its layout and it's pretty intense. Still prefer SheiKra 7. Magnum XL-200 - everyone has a love-hate relationship with Magnum 6. GateKeeper - forget forcelessness, the layout is just long, creative, and super engaging 5. Top Thrill Dragster - I'd rank it higher if it weren't for the downtime. My dad calls it "STOP Thrill Dragster" 4. Raptor - I have a soft spot for Raptor. It was my first CP coaster and one of the rides that made me an enthusiast 3. Millennium Force - it's got a great mix of some intense moments, some graceful moments, decent airtime, and fast af 2. Maverick - Maverick just kicks ass. 'Nuff said 1. Steel Vengeance - I mean, how can it NOT be #1. It's pure insanity embodied within a roller coaster
Nice to see a ranking in the comments! Not enough people seem to put their rankings in videos for all to see. I'd surely put mine, but I haven't been to Cedar Point yet. If you've rode the kiddie coasters, where would they rank? Also, while Pipe Scream isn't a roller coaster, but Cedar Point thinks it's one (to claim 18 coasters), and it is fairly common on lists. Where would it rank on yours? Sorry for being curious but I'm collecting CP rankings and comparing them to see which coasters are liked more than others, just for fun.
Definitely some surprises in there! It's all good though. Personally, I find Valravn to be basically the most disappointing coaster I've experienced. It really does nothing for me and I rank it at 12 in the park. I do hate to see Blue Streak that low. It's number 8 for me. I usually get a very good ride that is pretty thrilling with decent floater air, my dream is for them to bring back the old trains it used to have which had a single lapbar, no seat dividers and no headrests. I also love Magnum, it is 4th in park for me, but I can understand some of the criticism it gets.
Yes, the valravn is crazy overrated. My friends made me wait 90 minutes for that ride and it was a waste and I was so mad because magnum had a 5 min wait but when we got off valravn it went to a 50 min wait. Let's say I wasn't that happy that visit
I'm with him on a lot of things. Magnum is probably the most painful ride I've ever been on, it felt like my legs were being torn off. I've also experienced the same less breathless feeling on B&Ms before too, not very pleasant when you're waiting on the final break run for 5 minutes.
I was like "yes I agree with all of this!" until I saw Dragster at #3. I'm obviously not mad at you for having an opinion, but I really don't get the hype around Dragster and Kingda Ka. The launch is pretty cool, and I guess the top hat is ok, but there's really nothing to rides like Dragster. They're over in like 20 seconds. I loved and agreed with the rest of this video, but I'll never understand the hype for dragster/kingda ka.

Imo nothing beats the Maverick, the sheer extremity of the speed and acceleration makes it one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. Steel Vengeance comes in a good 2nd place tho.
Cedar Point is officially on my 2022 itinerary now, with a visit to a cousin I haven't seen in about a decade who I used to take to Kings Dominion when he was a kid. I'm easily looking at 100 new credits next year. I've always absolutely loved roller coasters and considered myself an enthusiast, but this is the first year that I've ever planned travel specifically for theme parks.
My opinion: My experience at cedar point was fantastic coming from California, however I’d say Gemini is very rough, wicked twister is better than Valravan because I felt it was more forceful and magnum XL200 is my least favorite by far but other than that I had a blast and this park is my favorite amusement park I’ve been to
You definitely got the top 4 right, maybe just placed differently than my list. Then again, coaster rankings are very subjective due to differences in height and weight from rider to rider, then other variables such as weather, time of day or season, etc.
I have the same exact views as you do, except I’d probably put dragster at 1 and then I would put corkscrew at 17 because I hate it that much. I think you only put the kid rides last because they’re kid rides, but I think Woodstock Express is a pretty fun ride. My friend and I go on it as a joke every time we go and I think it’s way better than corkscrew. That ride hurts so bad that I wish they would demolish it, but it looks so nice over the midway, especially at night!

I haven't been to Cedar Point but I've been collecting people's rankings to compare coaster popularity and for fun, and since Cedar Point thinks Pipe Scream is a coaster (though it isn't) and it's on many people's lists, I decided to include it. XscreamThrills yeah I took a big road trip this past summer at the beginning I had 76 credits after all the road trips I ended with 240 total. I’ve visited all the cedar fair parks except CGA, Knotts, and Canada’s Wonderland and I’ve visited all the Six flags parks except for Magic mountain, Discovery kingdom, La ronde, and Mexico. For hershunds I’ve visited Dollywood, Seaworld I’ve visited BGT, BGW, and SWO, Privately owned or small company parks I’ve visited include Hershey park, Kennywood, Kentucky kingdom, and Family kingdom a small boardwalk park in Myrtle beach SC.

@@Wesley-76 personally, I haven’t experienced pipe scream at Cedar point. I did not get the chance to do it in the two days I was there since I was mainly focusing on the coasters. I have a ridden similar attractions though in terms of a Zamperla disco. I have ridden Dizzy Disk at Dollywood, which has a slightly different layout, but I think the attraction is a fun and border thrilling attraction in the case of dizzy disk at Dollywood at least. In terms of Swamp Fox, I think it is a fun Classic PTC woodie. I wish the first two airtime hills weren’t trimmed, but I imagine that they’re trimmed because of safety and rider comfort. However, the return trip after the second turn around is rather thrilling. The airtime you get off the low to the ground bunny hop is almost border line unsafe you get flung so violently out of your seat. Keep in mind Swamp fox operates with a single train with a classic Buzz bar which leaves you with a ton of room. The first few times I experienced in that moment I literally thought we’d derail and fly off the course, and the helix going into the brakes is also really fast paced. You can feel the upstop wheels spinning on the brake run after the brakes are applied. In general it’s a good classic woodie, however I don’t rank it as high as I would Screamin eagle at Six flags St.Louis or Racer 75 at Kings dominion.

Yes, I've ridden one more like Dollywood's as well, the one at Wild Adventures called Tail Spin, and it's quite fun, my 3rd favorite ride there behind their Boomerang and SLC Twisted Typhoon. Swamp Fox sounds pretty fun! I was wondering because I'm in SC for college and I looked up to see if there were any amusement parks in the state I could take a trip to one day, and Family Kingdom came up. Unfortunately, it said 4 hour drive, being way out at Myrtle Beach. Didn't think it was possible to drive straight for 4 hours from where I'm at and still be in SC. Oh well then lol. Waiting for Carowinds to open, it's only 1 hour 40 min away from here! Never been to a Cedar Fair park before.
Man I freaking love this place! I visited from England last year and had the trip of a lifetime. To show how much I love the place and how awesome it is I made a 1000 word poem and video to showcase almost everything it has to offer. I haven't ridden Steel Vengeance (and I obviously didn't ride the kiddie coasters) yet so for now my favorite coaster is Millennium Force followed by Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, Gatekeeper, Valravn, Raptor, Rougarou, Wicked Twister, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Magnum XL 200 (too rough), Mean Streak and Gemini (I got really sick on that ride somehow).

Possibly, but why would Cedar Point invest a good change of money into a coaster that has poor ridership? My guess is this would never happen.

I'm gonna visit this park one day and see what all the fuss is about once and for all. My home park is Six Flags Magic Mountain, the only park that "supposedly" rivals Cedar Point. I don't want to jump to any conclusions just yet so I'll reserve my judgment until after i experience Cedar Point for the first time. Wish me luck.

I am going to list the roller coasters at Cedar Point from my favorite to least favorite out of the ones I rode.
Before I get to that, here are the roller coasters I did not ride when I went to Cedar Point: Corkscrew, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Woodstock Express, and Wilderness Run.

One thing that is kind of sad is that you never got to experience Blue Streak before they modernized it. It would never have topped anyone's list as a major thrill, but I really liked how it used to be. Nothing but a bar and a light, snappy train. The first time I rode it after the retrofit I was severely disappointed in the experience. At best I can now describe it as mediocre. Conneaut Lake Park used to be my home park so I have many rides on the other Blue Streak you mentioned. Probably been at least 25 years since I have been on it though. Considering the state of that park, I should make a point to get back to PA before it closes for good.

I’ve been to Cedar Point at least 5 times but I’ve always been to scared to get on the Top Thrill Dragster and in 2 weeks I was supposed to go again on an end of the year school trip, my friend and I had a bet going on over more than 6 months to see if I’d get on it and I’m really bummed out that it’s not going to happen this year.

Yeah, I'm goingvto give it to you over Raptor. I'm 6'2" and it's comfortable to me. Raptor isn't just one of the best coasters at Cedar Point. It's one of the best ANYWHERE! Rougarou above Raptor? I have to question your judgement.
And btw could you please give me a good seat on Rougarou? I have ridden once in the middle and hated it but am very open to reride whenever Cedar Point is open again. I’ve heard front and back so can you confirm?

Love the list! And I wish Magnum would be super consistent. My first ever ride on it, I was almost afraid to ride again, and then later that day I got two ride in row that were incredible. Now when I think of Cedar Point, going over Magnums second hill with a cool breeze, looking at the full moon on the lake, is one of my favorite moments ever at the park

Good list! Very different from mine as Raptors restraints don’t bother me, where the vest restraints kill Valravn for me and I found Blue Streak to be quite good and Gemini is in my top 6.

the wicked twister is honestly one of my favorites. its in a great spot, there is never a line, and i think its super fun to sit in the seats at the front or back

15. Corkscrew - who IS a fan of Corkscrew anyway?
14. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - good scenic ride, works really well as a family coaster
13. Iron Dragon - the forest setting is nice, though the pond-dive is for sure the best part
12. Rougarou - it's grown on me over time. A little rough but very forceful and unique layout
11. Gemini - yeah the drops are a bit jerky, but they're an intense kind of jerky, and it's awesome when it races
10. Wicked Twister - still freaks me out to this day. Great launches and weightless twisting
9. Blue Streak - fight me.
8. Valravn - I like its layout and it's pretty intense. Still prefer SheiKra
7. Magnum XL-200 - everyone has a love-hate relationship with Magnum
6. GateKeeper - forget forcelessness, the layout is just long, creative, and super engaging
5. Top Thrill Dragster - I'd rank it higher if it weren't for the downtime. My dad calls it "STOP Thrill Dragster"
4. Raptor - I have a soft spot for Raptor. It was my first CP coaster and one of the rides that made me an enthusiast
3. Millennium Force - it's got a great mix of some intense moments, some graceful moments, decent airtime, and fast af

If you've rode the kiddie coasters, where would they rank? Also, while Pipe Scream isn't a roller coaster, but Cedar Point thinks it's one (to claim 18 coasters), and it is fairly common on lists. Where would it rank on yours? Sorry for being curious but I'm collecting CP rankings and comparing them to see which coasters are liked more than others, just for fun.

Definitely some surprises in there! It's all good though. Personally, I find Valravn to be basically the most disappointing coaster I've experienced. It really does nothing for me and I rank it at 12 in the park. I do hate to see Blue Streak that low. It's number 8 for me. I usually get a very good ride that is pretty thrilling with decent floater air, my dream is for them to bring back the old trains it used to have which had a single lapbar, no seat dividers and no headrests. I also love Magnum, it is 4th in park for me, but I can understand some of the criticism it gets.
Yes, the valravn is crazy overrated. My friends made me wait 90 minutes for that ride and it was a waste and I was so mad because magnum had a 5 min wait but when we got off valravn it went to a 50 min wait. Let's say I wasn't that happy that visit

I'm with him on a lot of things. Magnum is probably the most painful ride I've ever been on, it felt like my legs were being torn off.
I've also experienced the same less breathless feeling on B&Ms before too, not very pleasant when you're waiting on the final break run for 5 minutes.

I was like "yes I agree with all of this!" until I saw Dragster at #3. I'm obviously not mad at you for having an opinion, but I really don't get the hype around Dragster and Kingda Ka. The launch is pretty cool, and I guess the top hat is ok, but there's really nothing to rides like Dragster. They're over in like 20 seconds. I loved and agreed with the rest of this video, but I'll never understand the hype for dragster/kingda ka.

Imo nothing beats the Maverick, the sheer extremity of the speed and acceleration makes it one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. Steel Vengeance comes in a good 2nd place tho.
Cedar Point is officially on my 2022 itinerary now, with a visit to a cousin I haven't seen in about a decade who I used to take to Kings Dominion when he was a kid.
I'm easily looking at 100 new credits next year. I've always absolutely loved roller coasters and considered myself an enthusiast, but this is the first year that I've ever planned travel specifically for theme parks.
My opinion: My experience at cedar point was fantastic coming from California, however I’d say Gemini is very rough, wicked twister is better than Valravan because I felt it was more forceful and magnum XL200 is my least favorite by far but other than that I had a blast and this park is my favorite amusement park I’ve been to
You definitely got the top 4 right, maybe just placed differently than my list. Then again, coaster rankings are very subjective due to differences in height and weight from rider to rider, then other variables such as weather, time of day or season, etc.
I have the same exact views as you do, except I’d probably put dragster at 1 and then I would put corkscrew at 17 because I hate it that much. I think you only put the kid rides last because they’re kid rides, but I think Woodstock Express is a pretty fun ride. My friend and I go on it as a joke every time we go and I think it’s way better than corkscrew. That ride hurts so bad that I wish they would demolish it, but it looks so nice over the midway, especially at night!

I got some head banging in the corkscrew and overall comparing it with the other Floorless coasters I’ve rode it was kinda meh but I hope my opinion changes when I go back. #112 out of 240 for me
12.Gemini Very fun Arrow coaster, great airtime, and overall an enjoyable experience. #118 out of 240 for me

XscreamThrills yeah I took a big road trip this past summer at the beginning I had 76 credits after all the road trips I ended with 240 total. I’ve visited all the cedar fair parks except CGA, Knotts, and Canada’s Wonderland and I’ve visited all the Six flags parks except for Magic mountain, Discovery kingdom, La ronde, and Mexico. For hershunds I’ve visited Dollywood, Seaworld I’ve visited BGT, BGW, and SWO, Privately owned or small company parks I’ve visited include Hershey park, Kennywood, Kentucky kingdom, and Family kingdom a small boardwalk park in Myrtle beach SC.

@@Wesley-76 personally, I haven’t experienced pipe scream at Cedar point. I did not get the chance to do it in the two days I was there since I was mainly focusing on the coasters. I have a ridden similar attractions though in terms of a Zamperla disco. I have ridden Dizzy Disk at Dollywood, which has a slightly different layout, but I think the attraction is a fun and border thrilling attraction in the case of dizzy disk at Dollywood at least. In terms of Swamp Fox, I think it is a fun Classic PTC woodie. I wish the first two airtime hills weren’t trimmed, but I imagine that they’re trimmed because of safety and rider comfort. However, the return trip after the second turn around is rather thrilling. The airtime you get off the low to the ground bunny hop is almost border line unsafe you get flung so violently out of your seat. Keep in mind Swamp fox operates with a single train with a classic Buzz bar which leaves you with a ton of room. The first few times I experienced in that moment I literally thought we’d derail and fly off the course, and the helix going into the brakes is also really fast paced. You can feel the upstop wheels spinning on the brake run after the brakes are applied. In general it’s a good classic woodie, however I don’t rank it as high as I would Screamin eagle at Six flags St.Louis or Racer 75 at Kings dominion.
@@RockyTopInflatables Ah okay makes sense. Yes, I've ridden one more like Dollywood's as well, the one at Wild Adventures called Tail Spin, and it's quite fun, my 3rd favorite ride there behind their Boomerang and SLC Twisted Typhoon.
Swamp Fox sounds pretty fun! I was wondering because I'm in SC for college and I looked up to see if there were any amusement parks in the state I could take a trip to one day, and Family Kingdom came up. Unfortunately, it said 4 hour drive, being way out at Myrtle Beach. Didn't think it was possible to drive straight for 4 hours from where I'm at and still be in SC. Oh well then lol. Waiting for Carowinds to open, it's only 1 hour 40 min away from here! Never been to a Cedar Fair park before.
Man I freaking love this place! I visited from England last year and had the trip of a lifetime. To show how much I love the place and how awesome it is I made a 1000 word poem and video to showcase almost everything it has to offer. I haven't ridden Steel Vengeance (and I obviously didn't ride the kiddie coasters) yet so for now my favorite coaster is Millennium Force followed by Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, Gatekeeper, Valravn, Raptor, Rougarou, Wicked Twister, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Magnum XL 200 (too rough), Mean Streak and Gemini (I got really sick on that ride somehow).
