Hello Jayani. It is so nice to hear from you all the way from Sri Lanka. I am so glad that the sewing tutorials are helpful. Merry Christmas, and happy sewing. 😍
Thanks Sherrill! Do you have to quilt the table runner? I bought a thanksgiving runner a couple of years ago. They used iron on interface and two pieces of fabric. When I washed it for the first time, the interfacing was all lumpy, because they didn't quilt the two pieces together. I took off the back, which was a solid brown, and I put a fall piece of fabric. The front was a beautiful turkey on each end with leaves all around. I put it back together and I sewed veins in each leaf so it would stay together.
Hi Annette. I usually spray Scotchguard on my runners, and/or spot clean. I don't like to put them in the washing machine/dryer. But if you prefer you can use cotton batting and do quilting stitches. I have done it both ways. But no mater which I make a table runner, I never place them in the washing machine. I hope this helps. Merry Christmas, and happy sewing. 😍
Hi Dcwatashi. Cut you fabric 4" larger than the top fabric so that you 2" extending out past the edges of the top fabric on all 4 edges. Hope this helps. Merry Christmas, and happy sewing. 😍

Why did you say to allow 4 inches all the way around with the backing fabric yet clearly in your video you only have 2 inches extra?.

@@TheSewingRoomChannel oh, okay, got it!
@@TheSewingRoomChannel Does this mean with 1/4" seam on each side, you end up with a 1 3/4" border to the main center piece?
