Poppet Pouch Sewalong - Day 1

Note: This is a complimentary video tutorial that goes with my Poppet Pouch pattern. So you need to pop to my shop (link in description on main channel page) and grab a copy before you start.
Welcome to the first Poppet pouch sewalong! Today is all about preparation.
We're going to quilt and trim your pieces ready for assembly!
✨️ So the first job is cutting all your pieces and fusing the interfacing and fusible fleece to the relevant pieces. I know it seems like overkill using interfacing too, but honestly, it makes for a much sturdier little pouch. It does work without and I accidentally did this on one on my Poppets but you will end up with a floppier version.
✨️ Basting spray is best for holding your layers together. Pins are okay if you haven't got it. You don't have to quilt a diagonal grid like I have. If you'd rather freestyle, use a quilting guide on your machine or use a hera marker rather than draw lines with a fabric pen then that's absolutely fine too! You may also consider hand-quilting which I did on my scrappy poppets. Don't forget you will be trimming back the panels so if you're hand-quilting leave a gap of ½" before the edge.
✨️ I keep losing my corner template so I've gone back to my OG shaper, my vintage pin tin! The gusset base is NOT trimmed. I've allowed for shrinkage on this piece as I didn't want to interfere with the edges because of the way the interfacing is positioned. You can neaten up the edges a little if you like though.
