They did the movie bumpers for WOR 9 in New York AND the Forty Years of Fine Tuning graphics for WNEW in New York! So awesome to see where they came from!
the 5:15 one is a brazilian logo of a tv show called fantastic / fantástico and it was broadcasted only on sunday, it would show a lot of news and funny horsies talking in portuguese about brazilian football teams.
Way before DreamWorks Animation acquired Pacific Data Images several years later. DreamWorks Animation is currently a division of NBCUniversal whose companies include NBC and Universal Studios.
5:15 Fantástico, programa de jornalismo e variedades da TV Globo, exibido desde agosto de 1973,cuja vinheta desse vídeo foi exibida entre 18 de Setembro de 1983 à 2 de Agosto de 1987.
Kinda insane to think about that this was the same agency/company that got purchased by Dreamworks later on only for it to go defunct in 2015. Really interesting that what was later on a division of Dreamworks used to make a whole lot of stuff for networks or any other type of brand in the 80s.
That is the first station ID when its callsign changed in March 19, 1984 from KBTV to KUSA (-TV). And on September 10, 1995, KUSA changed affiliations from ABC to NBC.
This video probably has the best, cleanest, versions of all of the early tv computer animations that I have seen in all of TH-cam!
2:27 This “NBC Monday Night at the Movies” intro from 1985 reminds me of my early childhood!!
And the 720p has it really shining through, exactly as it was in '85!
That's really good. At this time, PDI transitioned from a DEC VAX 11/780 minicomputer to a Ridge32 supercomputer.
Right, Jim.
Thanks a million for sharing that reel with us, especially the NBC Movies intro. The quality's amazing.

I Remember watching The Fantástico opening when I was a Child. Thanks for the memories.
PDI please come back
Yes, we won't tease you anymore for those "flying logos".
well i mean, they're just dreamworks now
Also also, super clean Joust video game promo at 2:56!
I think i've never seen such high quality VHS tapes, incredible !
This came from a 1 inch Type C open reel machine, the VHS quality isn't even close by a longshot. This is true broadcast quality.
@@KylesDigitalLab That explains a lot ! However, seeing the master quality here, its incredible how much loss there is between broadcast and tape
outstanding! thank you for uploading these

Yep my mom and dad watching this program every sunday night later coming to the sleep!

That was the era that everyone wants to have rede globo graphics, like hans donner did in 83.

Essa é a epoca que todas as tvs queriam ser a rede globo kkkkkkk

wow, what a great quality!
Would you like to see the 1980 Image West demo reel with the 1980s TBN Praise the Lord intro featuring the 80’s TBN logo
I don't think Image West made bumpers for Trinity Brodcasting Network, well prove it by looking at Image West's demo reels
I definitely saw KUSA in Denver, and this was back when Channel 9 was an ABC affiliate.
The KUSA logo treatment is one the best as far as I’m concerned. 👍
That will be from 6:14 to 6:20.

Impressive!, now I wonder if you have a 3 Ring Circus (3RC) demo reel from 1997 and 1998?
I do not have that one, but I do have one from Image West that I am working on right now ...
@@BenKirb I have a 3RC Demo Reel Tape from 1996 that was given to me by Curt Doty, I saved it on a flash drive.
@@BenKirb I’ll have to look. I may have another PDI reel, but from a 3/4-inch source, which is not great.
@@JHollowayNetwork Wow! Can you upload it?
@@BenKirb I can't without Curt Doty's permission, but I can send you a MEGA Link.
fantastic! too bad about youtube's compression artifacts.
Finally in hq
Glad you approve! Sadly, I had to cut out the Monday Night Football open as the video would have otherwise been blocked due to a copyright claim.
