- Solo van travel. Wild camping only! Off grid. I quit my job in Whitby and thought it's time to do Scotland... So, I'm thinking maybe I'll do the whole coast? Maybe...I need some work to refill the coffers! I'm heading west towards Inverness along the top ledge.

Hi, my name is Si.
In late September of 2021 I decided that I was a little bored with my small business selling antique and vintage furniture based in South Wales UK which we started 4 years ago from the ground up. I fancied doing something else completely, something fun and a new challenge, and that new thing is full time van life.
So, currently, I've closed down the business and I'm now living in the van partime. I have a Ford Transit SWB medium top van and that’s pretty much it. From here on out I am going to be filming my journey into full time vanlife, the van conversion (no experience) and everything it takes to get there. A kind of before and after video series of how I finally (no guarantees) got to where I want to be.
I am hoping to have the conversion done by summer 2022 (this didn't happen! maybe summer 2023?) and then travel fulltime around the coastline of the UK working along the way to fund the project/lifestyle. I may head to Spain first though? I have no idea what is about to happen... :)
Join me in that process (warts and all) and hopefully I can inspire someone else to do whatever it is they wish to do from the absolute ground up.

I stopped drinking 30 years ago, saved me a fortune and a lot of grief. Hope you get a bit of work that suits you, to tie you over and help move on your way. Love the van vibe, way to go, re-purposing old pieces of furniture, salvage, thrift and 'bric a brac' household items.
Nice one! 30 years! I have considered that also. For now, I'm ok with a somewhat reduced intake :) glad you like the van. First time converting one. I originally bought it to transport antique and vintage furniture :) should have got a medium wheel base lol

hiya Simon, just watching this video has inspired my imagination for travelling a lot thanks buddy its 29/07/24 I had no phone credit to answer your text, saving every penny and every pound....im finally not going to allow the mundane..the hours of driving study each day no tv just study and listening to podcasts I'm not going to allow the hamster wheel to take my soul...im cultivating all my energy religiously and it seems to be paying off ..oh yea ive not smoked this month, dealing with the mood swings was like being in the boxing ring ..so super van vagabond keep posting changing the world ..mark Maloney

@@SuperVanVagabond not easy on a budget. Park in a McDonald’s car park and use their wifi, or next to a library. If you have your laptop still go into the library 🤙
@@tezzaskayakfishing I use my phone 4g. Its mostly OK but sometimes it goes flat. Especially being in a metal box. I might get some kind of arial or something to help boost signal

Yeah right nightmare! I think a rat has chewed a cable or something when I parked the van for 2 months while I was in Thailand. I've been crawling through that space for months now! 😀
Great to see another video Si..We stayed nr Bamff a few years back on holiday. I see you got one of my favourite beers..love an Abbott or 3 lovely drop of ale that. Hi there mate, yeah I definitely will do. I've got a load of footage to edit. Have managed to get some work, so that is eating into my time quite a bit and when you're finished all ya wanna do is crash. I'll make the effort 👌 💪 thanks for the motivation 😀
Love what you're doing, but if money is tight (as you say) then cutting out the beer will help you greatly & you'll also be healthier.
