When I first started meditation practice my mind raced like a herd of Zebra being perused by a pride of lions, then I learned a trick. At the beginning of every meditation practice I think these words: "My ego is a million neurons with conflicting agendas." This reminds me my thoughts aren't my mind, rather they're something my mind is doing. This helps create a mental space where I can pull focus away from "little mind" to focus on "big mind." I still have thoughts during the process, but I've learned to run them on a screen at the end of a long hallway. The screen is "little mind" the hallway is "big mind." The deeper I go into this, the more moments of stillness I experience. I can't describe the stillness. Whatever it is.

Hope it works.Thanks.
