In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan.As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, courageous samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands resolute. As one of the last surviving members of his clan, Jin is resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.

I love how the mechanics of the wind and the birds are integrated into the story itself. "Your father is the wind at your back. Your mother, the birds in the trees." It's so cool that its essentially your father that's guiding you towards tour next destination in the duty of being a samurai, and your mother guides you off the beaten path to curious discoveries.
50:37 yep you’re meant to follow that fox as he leads you to the shrine. ☺️ that keeps up throughout the whole game whenever you see foxes.
10:18 "Sorry, I'm just enjoying the music right now.." That opening sequence is so thrilling, and the music is a big part of that. IT sweeps you into the story and prepares you for adventure. Glad to be watching you guys again. I only like to watch other play games I've already played, so it's been since Horizon: Forbidden West. Best from Chicago.
A bit later: I first played this game shortly after RDR2, so I kept jumping off the front of my horse early on.

The game is using Sucker Punch's own engine. Sony's older first-party studios all have their own technology and engines which is really great in my opinion. That variety is priceless.
The scene with the opening title when you ride onto the clearing/meadow is so amazing and beautiful. Had goosebumps all over. And what is brilliant about it, that most games would make it as a locked cutscene, but here it was done with the player controling both Jin and the camera. And yes, it is risky because some people may "ruin" it for themselves even unintentionaly, but they made it in a way that it nicely guides you to the right place and just in the right way for all of it to unfold in front of you nicely. One thing i don't like is when game showers you with tons of preorder/deluxe edition items, especially in games like these where i feel it ruins the progression both visually and also in gameplay. Like you are supposed to look destroyed and slowly get better armor/upgrade/craft/find new ones and games then give you some incredibly baddass armor right from the start of the game. Also i would feel like cheating :D At least its optional in this game so people can decide, some games even force you to use those.
I wish the deveopers would kept the camera and the hourse movement locked until the credits finishes. Ive seen too many players not know what to do that some would just stop riding. Thats annoys me to no end when players mess up that part.

45:50 this is an interesting take: on my playthrough I’ve ambushed a whole lot of people already since I kept running into random encounters and sidequests that the cutscene mentioned Khan that Jin has been stabbing his people in the back (literally). But here you didn’t have this cutscene.

56:00 I got the deluxe alright, but I just use the regular stuffs just to add to the challenge. :) (I didn’t even get the digital deluxe horse, I got the white one as it reminds me of the white Arabian in RDR2). I’m now way far down the act 2 (might be going act 3 as it’s building up to that point) btw, so I hope you’ll enjoy this game as much as I do (RDR2 will still be my no.1-imagine I finish RDR2 3x already).
I think I’m going to love this game, first two hours and I’m already invested! With I’d gone with Nobu for my horse though!
@@GamingAfterBed yeah you can’t name your horse as much as you want like in RDR2 because Jin’s actor needs to voice or speak the horse’s name.^^
I named my white horse “Sora” so we should be fine with this name kinda. XD
Best hat in the game is the Bloodborne hat though. “Yarnham Hat”.
