He says he drinks a glass for the benefit and the rest of bottle for the buzz lol. He's 90 and still tries to do yard work. Keep drinking man😃

Hello John This soil series has been awesome love learning about the soil, you seem to be one of the few videographers trying to convey the science, the hosphorous lock up would be interesting to delve into a little more as I suspect like me there are laots of people with elevated levels which is tying up some micro's and in Europe nearly everything contains phosphorous perhaps you could explain the MG and Cal relationship the view from your property is amazing keep showing us as the snow creeps ever closer, once again great series many thanks

I'd be interested in the CAL - MG tie up you spoke about and adding Sulfur and explaining that process a little more. I think that would be another great vid on the science side of things. My soil tests I sent you 2.2% OM an my CEC Sandy Loam 8.2, But I have a high CAL 1362ppm to a low MG 133ppm and low K 103ppm with a PH of 7.7 just like yours. Just want to make sure I understood your recommendation, Add Gypsum and use Potassium Magnesium Sulfate but I am unsure on the amount I need to add of each per 1K. Of course I still am hitting my lawn with your Stim Pack about every 6 weeks, 0.0.2, Humic 12 all year except Winter, Spring gets Air8 and RGS, Fall Gets Air 8 and RGS, skip those in hot summer months and use 0.0.2 only July/Aug. Some of the problems with fertilizer is the industry and Marketing to push the use of fertilizer onto consumers for profit. There are some Marigold flowers next to my house and I do little to them and the blooms are amazing as the church people commented. I used 1-1/2 inches of bagged garden soil, a tablespoon of Fish/kelp fertilizer and I really do not water them... I'm interested in your RGS/Humic because of my prior experience with liquid Fish/Kelp fertilizer and studies into low nitrogen input on turf. People laugh when I put down 1/4 lb on N on my lawn citing its not enough LOL

Thanks for the video. I'm seeing alot of people hauling away their leafs and some mulching. Thinking you probably recommend keeping that material around to help build up those layers? MN Sandy soil. The cores I pull from the yard have the soil looking very similar from 1 to 7 inches. Maybe 2 layers with the first 2 inches just being slightly darker... Idk maybe I'll pull another tonight and take a photo
Awesome! I'm coming up with my overseed plan. Back in May I did my soil test for a area. pH was at 5.7, but I do recall the Phos was high. Changes I did after that test included applying pelletized calcitic lime and changing my fert from Milorganite(phos) to Lawn Restore(no phos). I did purchase the soil activation pack last month and started Air8 and D-Thatch combination. For overseed fertilizer, I was going to use a combination of Greene Effect and the rest of the Lawn Restore. I was wondering how quickly phos would deplete in my scenario.

Not a test yet has came back requiring anything less than 2lbs per 1000. I spent thousands without P and it failed miserably so I’d rather spend $12 for a bag of 0-45-0 than spend thousands failing. Great concept for great soil, there are some here that are but certainly not the the norm. I only use it at seeding no other time.
Seriously if you soil test the soil in your crawl space and it shows natural levels of phosphorus, you can be assured that at some point your lawn probably had manure added as an adendum. Over time the rain and snow are going to bring that phosphorus level down naturally.
Scott Godwin if I test that stuff and it has phos, it’s because that element is present in the rock. I think it will be calcium, magnesium, and who knows what else in massive surplus. It’s just rock dust. But... could be a fun experiment.

Up here in Idaho my soil pH ranges between 7.8 and 8.0. The big difference I have, from yours, is the buffering. I have a lot of free lime. My garden space is about 1/3 of an acre, and a half dozen years ago I incorporated literally 2000 pounds (1 ton) of elemental sulfur into it. (It took a year just to get it all down.) But with my soil's buffering capacity I see no change in the pH! My course of action now is my own guess... spoon feed amonium sulfate, and spoon feed "available" phosphorus (blue cool aid) to get what I need for my plants. Do you have other suggestions?
Is it wasteful to continue adding your humic throughout the winter dormancy for Bermuda in an attempt to add much needed organic material to my horrible, lousy, nutrient-free, pH 8.2 yard in preparation for a big Air-8 attack in early spring? I’ve got a lot on hand and would like to work year round on correcting this horrible soil, but not if it’s wasted. Thanks in advance!
A few of my soil reports indicate pH values in the 8.0-8.4 range. UF EDIS report (ifas.ufl.edu SL256/SS480) indicates elemental sulfur has short lived changes in pH. How frequently will you be adding elemental sulfur? I have started using annual Peat apps this past year to help with St Aug Take-All through lowering of pH. So pH managment is almost a program itself. Any suggestions are very welcome.
Is there a chart for ideal ranges? I did the Ward lab test too, and I have no idea what it means, except in relation to yours. Funny my suggestions were for N and P.

Mean Green I like mulching them in but not if it’s excessive. If you can get through the leaves and really grind them up, then do it.

Bird Dog it’s amazing as a stand-alone and you should put it out at 6 ounces per 1000. Let it go to work on your soil. Nothing needs to be with it
Lawncology When I ordered I told Brad just send me a bunch of everything. Humic confused me the most as all the other products had humic in them.
