Bhaiya just to be clear, aapke jaise engineer banne ke lie phle mujhe apna 12 ache se dena hoga , fir koi v collage se btech mechanical mn krna hoga 4 yrs ,fir 1 year ka GME krna hoga from collages like SIMS ,and Anglo. Bhaiya if u will clear this it will be big relief. :)

Hey 3 saab, ye jo apna sewage vacuum pump hota in STP, ye postitive displacement pump hota h ya centrifugal and why so and if positive displacement, then usme kon sa wala pump hai ?
Bhai centrifugal use hota hai most of the type because of low maintenance and zyada space bhi Nhi leta hai.
Positive displacement toh yaar maine dekha nahi hai abhi tak.. woh mostly gear type ya roller type hote hain.. which I haven’t seen till now. But I will ask my seniors..

Hey 3 saab, hm jab STP backwashing by air or SW krte hain during to, sludge hm kahan daalte hain, overboard ya grey water tank ?
Bhai when you are out at sea you can discharge overboard. When you are near land 12nm or in port.. you cannot discharge anything outside the ship. It has to be stored in sewage holding tanks.
shall not be discharged instantaneously but at a moderate rate when the ship is en-route and proceeding at not less than 4 knots
So, it means, if ship speed > 4 knots then we can discharge backflush sludge of sewage during sailing to OVERBOARD , right ?

No bro, technically we cannot do that.. because annex IV states that “No discharge of untreated ship's sewage into the sea (MARPOL Annex IV) if it is discharged from a holding tank approved by the administration with a moderate rate of discharge and the ship is en route with a minimum speed of 4 knots and not less than 12 nautical miles from the nearest land”
