  • Hey everyone,
So for this week’s video, my mum and I have returned, as requested, with a part 2 to our ‘Am I Ready To Study Abroad & Move To Germany’ video! This was hilarious to film, and I definitely learned something along the way, and maybe you guys did too.
Please let me know whether you played along, and if you passed the challenges better than I did! I love reading and responding to all of your comments :)

If you haven’t seen part one of the challenge, here it is:
    • IS MY GERMAN GOOD ENOU...
Here is my last video (First Year University Review):
    • FIRST YEAR OF UNI REVI...
Finally, I hope you guys are living well and staying busy doing things you love during this peculiar time. As always, I finish with a Bible quote that has uplifted me this week, and might you too:
    Psalm 121:1-2
I lift up my eyes to the mountain - where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Mööp, grammar police here ... excuse the pedantry but it's: "ich bin gefolgt" for the physical motion or "ich habe befolgt" for the non motion cases like "followed rules , orders or advice" and the like. But unfortunately there are some exeptions as usual ( because German has a bad rep to uphold xD ) as in "ich bin Deinem Beispiel gefolgt"
Great Video though - I especially enjoyed the tounge-twister section =)

What a lovely mum, she is amazing in explaining, really good, so prudent and calm. What is her job?
Which city or part of Germany you like to go for studying?
    Her an easy one,
"Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut und Brautkleid bleibt Brautkleid"
    Please enjoy, wonderful video!!
    Take care.
On 23rd of May nothing really happened, they used in
West Germany the 17th of June from 1954 as the national day, because of the revolt from the workers in East Germany one year ago that ended on the 17th of June with tanks from Russia, it was a kind of solidarity.

Haha so she is actually a teacher which I guess fits her pretty well ;). The plan is Berlin but let's see what happens...
Thanks for the history too :)

I wish you the best of luck.
It's my hometown so can definitely recommend the city.
I was not really sure with the job of your mom, it was in my mind.

I learned from this video when the Bundesrepublik was founded. I am German and I don't remember learning it at school (probably did, but forgot it). No, we don't do anything on that date (probably the reason I forgot). btw: Grammar wasn't my favourite either.

haha yeah German grammar sucks lol... I'm glad you learnt something. I feel like I'm probably also lacking general British history that I should know by now too ahh

23th of May 1949 was the proclamation of the Grundgesetzt and the foundation of West Germany
7th of October 1949 was the founding of the GDR.
I am not sure if there was ever some celebration for this because the Grundgesetz was inteded as a makeshift and I grew up in the GDR.
But I know that the 17th of Juni was a celebration day and this is odd because it has nothing to do with West Germany because it was the day of riots in the GDR in 1953. But from 1954 until 1990 it was the German Unity Day in West Germany.

This one is hard when speaking it fast because the different ch, sch, tsch switch so often and the sch and ch is a problem for most English speakers.
