Infrasound from the 22-23 April 2015 eruption of Calbuco volcano, Chile at seismo-acoustic station GO07 (216 km from the source).
The background image shows seismo-acoustic cross-correlation and coherence analysis for station GO07. The audio component of this movie is the time-compressed GO07 infrasound data sped up 400 times to render the infrasound data audible. In this time-compressed audio transformation of the volcano-infrasound signals, a sound resembling jet noise from flight vehicles occurs coincident with the times of seismo-acoustic coherence.
