Looks like somebody is getting fired, 🤔,this is a sign of negligence. Driver doesn't know how to go down a steep grade..lol So this is the concequinces . No big loss it's just a Volvo. Firefighters are moving like a snail on a razor blade.
Volvo truck does have 10 flat tires on its cab and the fire will burn the tires to the bare rims. 😢. Also the cab is nothing left but the skeleton remains when the saddle fuel tanks does explode with diesel fuel.
This is why have the fire extinguisher by the driver's seat, not in a side cabinet. Sometimes you only have seconds to control a small fire before it gets out of control. This could also have been caused by failed bearings.
First truck I was assigned was an old fld with no Jake in 1994, been driving about 2 months, going down grapevine with heavy load had really smokey brakes by the time I was down...
Years ago we we on the highway and a semi passed us. My dad notice the back brakes on the trailer were bright red and smoking. He tried called the driver via the CB radio but the driver would not answer back. So Dad told him " you might want to pull off the road you trailer brakes are over heating and smoking The drive came back thanking my dad. He took the next exit just in time.
@@SimonWoodburyForget I've been driving a semi truck for 20 years and if he came off a hill 99% of this crap is from NOT using lower gears and engine brakes. The other 1% is breaks were dragging and over heated

Where they're at, it's more than likely a volunteer dept, and it's mid day where most members are at their " real" jobs. You run with what you have and call for mutual aide from other depts
I've driven identical trucks like that down Cabbage, the Grape Vine, 70 east bound into Denver, Eisenhower and 7th gear and working the jake worked for me but so may times I've had drivers pass me at the crest and I'd see them hitting the brakes for several hundred feet. Apparently they're in such a hurry that they use 10th going down.
Another possibility of the cause could have been a flat tire got hot and caused it which is most likely cause because the truck didnt go into a runaway condition. If the brakes had gotten hot more than likely the truck wouldve went into a runaway situation because of no brakes
Piss pore training and government handing out CDLs like their candy is the blame here. You should get a 300 dollar ticket for slowing down or stopping traffic to look at a wreck, etc that isn't even on your side of the road!
Maybe the trucker added extra mods, something being flammable, it had a leak, and maybe the brakes sparked because they're bad, and ignited the flammable material. Just a guess
@@SimonWoodburyForget it will if you ride your brakes on down hill GRADE. Instead of using Air brakes and start out in the proper gear. Should of never gotten his class As.

The 10 between Tucson and Pheonix and heading towards NM is prone to getting bad dust storms. My dad's seen burnt-out hulks of tractor-trailers on the ten. When I was a kid I was on the ten with my mom and sibling and saw a flipped Prime truck on the opposite lane, and an ambulance slowly leaving the scene... lights flashing, sirens off. I was with my dad one summer, in I think CO and there was a boneyard near the truck stop (or was it a stop) we were at. Two tractors, obviously from the same outfit were there and both had one side of the cab squashed. One, in particular, grabbed my attention, it was obvious the driver did not survive the incident. The other was damaged, however, the driver would have been ok, though if there was a passenger, said would have died.

I ALWAYS thought the semi brakes were asbestos and would never, ever catch fire. Did they stop using asbestos?

Obviously an underfunded fire department. I mean basically a red SUV with a 100 gal tank. No foam. Blowing the diesel fuel around.

so a sonic boom sounds like a tire busting???
Good job Kelly!
Use your gears and exhaust brake. This is why you're supposed to pick a lower gear before starting a down grade.
This is from piss poor training and foreigners don't understand English and are allowed to drive how ever they want.
