Good evening Octavio😺👍. Thanks again for stopping by and the kind words 🍋🌱! I have another update video that I'm editing that briefly shows how the in ground citrus are coming along. Cheers!
Hello, you are doing an amzing work for everyone in the hardy citrus community. I want to tell you something about some developments we did in Europe. Esepecially in he last 5 years, the temperatures in Germany mostly didn't fall below 15°F without daytime freezes. One of the most interesting cultivars now is a cross between Citrus ichangensis and Citrus sinensis. I don't know if you have heard about it but it survived up to 5-10°F and porduces kind of sour oranges with sweetness and a lot of juice in them. With protection, it should be the perfect citrus tree for me in Germany with 7b to 8a. Another interesting tree (but with origin in the US) is the Trifeola which is Tangelo x Poncirus but with a quite good taste! It's popular in Czechia with 7a and protection.
Thanks for the update Rotes. Great to hear that new cultivars are being developed. I almost ordered Trifeola budwood years ago from the CCPP because I thought it might be worth a try. Nice to see that it is doing well in Czechia. I have some chance seedlings from my collection of Ichang lemon x trifoliate and also Lemandarin x trifoliate that I am keeping an eye on. Good luck with your citrus :)
hello have a nice day to you..at the same time im here to sending my full support to you..nice lemon is not easy the fruits but easy to plan..see you my house too..keep safe
We can make leaves for cooking spices to make them more fragrant, and we can drop the fruit in dishes that smell fishy ... in Indonesia, many of these fruits are planted ...... I come giving my warmth support. Thanks for sharing great video.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hi new friend here watching sending my full support keep it up god bless hug to hug stay safe I love your content have a good day enjoy you have wonderful backyard
I have a lemon meyer in a pot but my goal is to find an edible citrus for zone 7. I tried quite a few including satsuma and kumquats but they died while the meyer lemon lived in unheated greenhouse. I may just end up heating my greenhouse. I do have a flying dragon orange not quite edible but its for sure citrus.
Yes, almost all satsumas and kumquats haven't survived for me either in Zone 8a. I would suggest trying a grafted (preferably at least 2ft up on trifoliata) Prague chimera, Taitri or Edible Flying Dragon aka Dragon Lime. These have been very cold hardy for me. Thanks so much again for dropping by Thyme4Coffee!
i am so jealous by the amount of variety you have, bulding my way up but i'm still far from getting at your level. i was wondering if i could buy some razzelquat woodbud from you + a couple others.
I've never heard of half the plants you have, truly an incredible selection. Citrus vary so much in size, shape, appearance and taste.
Yes and that's kind of the trap that got me into collecting citrus to begin with. So many different varieties. Thank you very much for visiting Bret😀
