Roger Trelease has made a great film of Cornwall which holds up today in 2024. His narration is excellent and camera work professional....and a very good VHS transfer. Thanks for posting this gem.

Thank you for this video. I have never been across the pond so to speak but my ancestors on my father's side came from Cornwall and the families of those people still live there. Have a Blessed day.

I had this VHS cassette at one point - I recognise the commentary. It was excellent, overall - thanks for sharing it!

The Dobwalls miniature railway is now a gated retirement village, not because the theme park failed, but the children of the founder grew bored of the business and literally dug it all up and destroyed it.

I wondered what became of it. Another sad loss for local kids.

@chrisdstard5644 it's worse than that, the now old man who literally built the park from his pig farm couldn't forgive his adult children for what they did, he managed to save his house in the grounds, it's surrounded by the now empty engine sheds because they sold them off, tried to open an art gallery, then tried to sell overpriced mobile homes, went bust. Now owed by some bank or investment group. All the local jobs gone, all the tourists gone. The whole place is sad, I live within 400m of the old park. It's largely unoccupied. Such a waste.
