Raspberry is my absolute favorite fruit. My Aunt Betty makes jam for all of her nieces and nephews for Christmas. This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions.
What a beautiful story about Jeff and Jonie, l hope they watch from Oregon and see how much love is in your home and that you have continued with maintaining the Raspberry bushes!! I have never heard or seen anything like freezer jam so l was so intrigued by how you make it. I know it might not look as cute as mason jars but l save the jars from food items , soak the label off and throw them in the dishwasher to sterilise then l use them for pickled cucumbers, homemade Mayo, overnight oats. Thankyou for sharing it must have smelt so good in your home👍
I should be better about using old jars, thanks for the idea! Pickled cucumbers sound yummy and homemade mayo...I need your recipes. Thank you so much for being here, it always makes my day to chat with you!
@@ThisAlaskaLife : No no you don't need to be more mindful at saving old jars trust me those things multiply like coat hangers in a home meaning you can never find one when you need them but then find an abundance when you are not looking, it's just what we do, but l love mason jars as well and they look so much cuter for gifts!!
Loved how you talked us through making the jam. I think I'll have a go at making some this year, I'm also going to put this video into save so I can watch it again when I'm ready to make some jam. Sending love 💞
That looks so yummy and seemed super easy to make. I would have been too intimidated to try this myself without seeing this video. Hopefully I’ll get to try this someday when I have some fresh berries!
It is really not hard once you realize a few key steps, measure correct, and follow all the times they suggest and it should work out. Thanks for watching Myra! Have a wonderful day!
I have blackberries and they were my grandmothers who is now passed on. I still keep them going. I don’t get as many berries as y’all but I freeze several gallon each year and make jam for us to have and to have for gifts.
That is so wonderful Melinda! I love the legacy of berries. Black berries don’t seem to grow in Alaska. At least I’ve never seen any. I loved picking blackberries in Texas growing up.
That jam looks soooo good. Thank you for sharing how to make the jam. It looks pretty easy to make the freezer version. I am so surprised how much that amount of raspberries makes. Have a great week.
Hi Lauren, thank you for this video it seems like it’s pretty easy to do. Here’s a suggestion when you do your package giveaway if you can, put a little jar of the raspberry jam in there I would love that & it would be something you made. Have a wonderful day 💜
Hey Kim! That would be fun, I am not quite sure how to send it since it has to stay refrigerated but will keep it in mind. Thank you so much for being here!
Thanks! It really is not that hard and such good results. You could make one small batch and just keep it in the refrigerator as well! Thank you for watching!
It looks wonderful. I have done a lot of canning and generally prefer low sugar jam because I taste the fruit more. If you are interested, they sell pectin that is specifically formulated for low sugar, and even no sugar, jam. Of course, your version is classic and delicious and no reason to change unless you want to try it with a higher fruit to sugar ratio. P.S. you need a canning funnel. It prevents the mess and drips. I especially like the " prepworks by progressive canning funnel for regular and wide mouth jars" along with the matching Progrssive canning scoop, which I also use for things like freezing chili. Both are from Amazon but I am sure Walmart probably carries something similar, at least in the summer. Also, the Ball "Blue Book" is a classic for canning. I bet your library carries it if you want to check it out
Thanks, the canisters are my favorite. I usually do use the spouted one and it works really well, not sure why I didn’t this time. Thank you for watching Tammy!
Looks so yummy. Do you use any other fruit? Also I got my package thank you so much. I was looking forward to Everett coloring in the box but I didn’t get it. The candy is yummy I had to hide it. 🥰
Sorry! I wasn't using a box this time and he wasn't around to color a picture for me when I finally was ready to take it to the post office ( I had him at a play date with a friend). I am so glad you got it! We have blueberries but usually make those into blueberry syrup and stick with raspberry jam. Thanks for watching.
Aw, thank you so much! Hunter and I were excited as we watched it pass 3000 last night. He was supposed to be in bed but wanted to see it so I had him help me clean the airBNB. I am so grateful you found us as well!

The colored box was from last months giveaway.
It looks so yummy but I wonder if I could do the samething with Blackberries (I'm deathly allergic to Raspberries)
