That refers to a brief period during the French revolutionary age when The Cult of Reason was the official religion of France. It did not last.
Oh, I didn't even make that connection! I thought it was just a funny joke about not chopping everyone's head off but I like that it references that too😂

It refers to humanity abolish religion only to have it replaced in modern politics, first with French Revolutionary Cult of Reason and later with other religion-like substitutes such as communism (Maoism, Stalinism), fascism, ethno-nationalism (Nazism) and islamism (Salafism, Wahhabism).

Oh hey, I used to play AoE 2. It was pretty fun. I also recommend Star Wars Battlegrounds, which is basically a reskin, but with unique Star Wars factions and units.
Courtney, I don't see that anyone else has said this, so in regards to your comment at 23:07 about how long it took to make this, Bill said in an interview that it took him 11 months to produce the video. 3 of those months were spent on research alone. He also has another history video, which you might enjoy, called the history of japan. He posted it the year before this one and it's absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it!
I started watching your channel because you reacted to DCI, but I now watch most of the things you post and am glad that I found it. Your reactions to everything are always enjoyable to watch, and it's even cooler to find someone who isn't from the United States reacting to all things American. Keep up the awesome reactions!

When u really think about the size of the universe, to only conclusion that a reasonable person can make is it was created by a wise superior being. It is so large and perfectly made it is insane to think it was made through a chaotic explosion. Jehovah God is the only one who can make something to large and perfect.

If your interested in a more in-depth look at how a lot of that happened you should read a book called “Guns Germs and Steel”. Very insightful and written very cleverly. I learned so much from reading it and it’s not dry or boring at all!👍🏼
It is much more effective to teach anything when the students are entertained!

I watched this video maybe 30 times. As a huge fan of history I can't find much fault in it. It's fast and loose accuracy is top notch.

yes, I loved AoE I and II.
Only one half I love this video it shows there's no land or border that hasn't changed or still controlled by the first people to settle on that land
It shows how land & borders have changed many many times throughout history until it gets to the US slash north America because during all the other conquering of empires doesn't point out that was the result of War slaughtering or enslaving the people on the land conquered much worse than what happened to the natives of North America in the US or Canada but it the common narrative is that's all that's talked about in the North America and that's the only time it's pointed out in this video as if it didn't happen by those horrendous empires of the past

Love this video! If you were te become interested in reacting to war films or television shows, I would recommend Black Hawk Down. It is very respected and loved amongst Americans. It also tells a story that is not heard of often.
