This looks so good, but i have a suggestion. What if you use the Windows XP icons and sound too. That would look so good! Also please make this like a series when you do other operating systems as well.
Honestly, if you didn't have to pay for that software, all the computers at my work place would look as if they were running XP by the end of my next work day 😀
I use OpenShell exclusively for the taskbar/startmenu/startbutton because it has more customization and you can mix/match. I just bought WindowBlinds tho to see if I can match the Royale look I use on my PC.

What might make this a good bit easier is ExplorerPatcher. It has easy options, one of which lets you restore the (ugly) Winblows 10 taskbar. _That_ can natively be made thin (small taskbar buttons) and OpenShell can correctly _replace_ the Start Button too.
@@TDGalea I've been using Winaero Tweaker to revert my explorer and Task Manager back and its been fine, as well as some other general performance and permission tweaks. Done it all back last year in October haven't had any issues since. Originally did it to fix an laggy explorer bug at the time due to its ribbon.
@@GavAttackO To be honest other than it's limitations (can't go thin, can't be moved) I do prefer the new taskbar style. But that's when I use Windows anyway. But good to know WAT is now a thing for 11. I'll have to check that out some time.

I wouldn't do this on your main machine. Updating Windows 11 might mess up your system, also registry editing should be avoided at all cost. I love XP, it was the OS I used the most because it was on my very first personal PC as a kid. Windows 11 is in my opinion much more cleaner and nicer looking because it's minimalistic. Times change.

@@Ingo3112 CPU usage is dependent on your device, and usually with devices like low end laptops they are pegged anyways. Plus, this is all for the look and feel of Windows XP. Since you are adding programs to run in the background it may run slower like anything else.

@@Fehrium Generally speaking I agree, I really like the flat and simple color palette aesthetic that pretty much every OS uses now. But for it's age, XP has aged extremely well visually. Better even than Vista and 7, who's Aero theme somehow looks more outdated than XP.

Well, mine is Cinnamon Desktop on Fedora, but yes, FAR better. Presuming you don't have the newer versions of GTK3/4 that the GNOME devs intentionally decided to kneecap the theming on.
Honestly if Microsoft would have left people choose the Win2K, XP, 7, 9x looks out of the box as well as removing the online account requirement I'd still most likely be using Windows for my home PC. Yes things like OpenShell are nice but it's not enough at the end of the day. Still it's great for people who have to stay on Windows.

Windows XP look is completed only if you can somehow change the recycly binn look classic like it was on Win XP, and Win 7, i think Microsoft ruined the recycly bin look from the original round to look like box

I did this a few months ago and it caused me huge issues with lag and screen flickering on both windows 10 and windows 11 so i wouldn't recommend doing this.
30 years from now people are still gonna be making Windows XP Mods for their PC.

you'd have to change the boot screen, which you can, and also you'd have to change the login screen, which I'm not sure can be done.

TaskbarSi does not work for me, its still normal size (displays it as its normal)
Why not just use Classic Shell?

It is possible. Right click on the task bar, go into properties > advanced > taskbar scale

Follow your instruction in regedit yet I remain with the gap at the bottom for both start menus and other windows.
