Up until recently, Maine Coons seemed to be my most rescued cats & I couldn't figure out why so many people dumped them! All were absolutely beautiful & loving once they were painfree❤
Those Ears, Right?!? 😊 I don’t care for the way breeders are distorting their facial features now. . . This beautiful boy has the Original, Classic (and Classy) features. Just gorgeous.
What a handsome man! I'm so glad y'all were able to solve his pain and find him a good home. I rescued a cat that needed this surgery. He was a beloved member of my college's campus cat community and disappeared for a couple weeks, which made everyone upset. I returned home from my midnight shift at the library to an email saying he had been found, but was wounded and limping badly. I RAN across campus to find him, I was so happy that I forgot a carrier! So I asked his finders to hang out for another little bit with him while I returned home to grab a carrier. Took him to my trusted vet first thing in the morning; he had been hit by a car! His hip was dislocated. And unfortunately, in the couple weeks since then, he had healed enough that there was no way to get his hip back in. So he had the femoral head removed and lived with me while we did physical therapy. The vet said he shouldn't go outside again, because he wouldn't be able to run or climb as well anymore to escape predators. Poor guy never felt comfortable around me, because he thought I was the source of his pain (from the physical therapy), so he spent all of his time hiding under the couch. This was so sad to me, as I always get along with cats. About six months later, I asked a neighbor friend to watch him while I was out of town. When I had returned, I invited the neighbor over to pay him. The neighbor sat on the floor, and the cat came right out from under the couch, plopped on her lap, and started purring! I think my eyes just about bugged out of my head. My neighbor said, "I love him so much, I wish I could take him home," and I said, "PLEASE! I've never seen him so happy!" I was so glad he got the home he deserved after all that.
Thank you for saving his life. Recently I trapped a “feral cat” with a broken leg. Once the leg was amputated and he had recovered her turned into a sweet, adoptable cat.
That is so awesome of you! Where I live 🐈 are everywhere outside which I don't like bc something could happen to them. I slowly come down our 1-Way street bc they dart out in front of you! I also worry about any diseases or worms or flea & tick issues they might be suffering from bc the woman "who owns all of them" just puts food out for them & that's it! They never get to fo inside & it's awful!
@@ThePro-WrestlingTrueCrime TNR the cats. I jut retired from rescue, but I TNRed a lot of cats and they were able to live their lives in peace. Once they grew old and died there were no young kittens to replace them, so that was the end of the stray cats getting hit by cars or eaten by coyotes.
My maine coon mix was adopted and returned several times due to biting.. Someone also declawed his front paws...He was even abandoned with no front claws to defend himself...I adopted him anyways... He really would get mad if you touched his feet or legs.. I wasnt going to abandon him like prior owners.. It has taken yrs but he has changed a lot with lots of love and attention
It is always so nice to have a kitty whos been stand offish or grumpy and then when they receive pain meds they visibly just take a deep sign of relief and start rubbing and loving on things. It just makes you feel so good for them. Cats are absolute magicians as far as hiding pain
I loved my 22lb Maine Coon. He would play fetch for hours, come, stay and was toilet trained. Wonderful cats and, even though I am allergic to cats, Maine Coons have a different protein in their saliva and many people who are allergic can have Maine Coons.
Thank you for helping Fresno. He is such a handsome boy; that tail, those ears - fabulous! Happy he found his furever home with someone who understands him and knows how to handle his quirky personality.
Thank you Dr. Karri and your Staff for saving this PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGEL FRESNO🐈❤️❤️❤️ HE'S GORGEOUS! ❤️May God be with his new Loving Forever Home and Family for adopting him🐈💋💋💋❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏
My ginger tabby was around 8 months old when we brought him home, and we brought him home because he was playing rough with the older cats he was living with. He wasn’t really grumpy, he was just hyper and wanted to play really really badly.
Oooooh! He's gorgeous *_AND_* sweet!! I hope his future fur-parents appreciate him, take care of him, & give him all the loving he can stand...always & forever!
Poor boy! Maine Coons are so loyal to their families, it hurts that his people abandoned him. We have a Coon, and love him but we'd take this guy in a hot second! Thank you for helping him ♥♥
He wasn't abandoned. I had to surrender fresno to save his life. He needed major surgeries. Financially I could not pay for them. It was either surrender him and save his life or put him down I loved that cat raised him since he was 10 weeks old .
I am amazed the cat can walk at all. Does he hold weight just by muscle strength alone. Cats are incredible creatures you are doing great work for these gentle creatures .
This hit home. Got a maine coon girl who got her hip operated 4 years ago. From the X-rays comparison here and hers, I can only see now how bad her hip really was, if Fresno's were bad. Thank you for helping him get better. It means the world to those kitties and they can keep living happily painfree
My adult feral rescue is a spicey girl so I appreciate cats like Fresno. He's a big beautiful cat. I'm glad he found someone to understand him and adopt him.
We have hot-dogger at the clinic I work at too! Fun fact, we spoke to the manufacturers and they said the mat is supposed to be applied directly under patients, it is more effective. We were always worried it'd get too hot, but we switched when the manufacturer told us it was safe and we haven't had an issue since. That was like 2 years ago. Just thought I'd pass the info along :) Of course ANY heat source should be closely monitored and constantly checked especially for patients who cant move off it (babies, sedated/anesthetized, etc).
I had a main coon who looked exactly like Fresno (white chest, paws, nose area, with brown tabby, and floofy as heck) for about 17 years. He weighed 19 pounds. He was found on a mountain ledge, all alone in the middle of nowhere by some scientists who were on an "expedition." All we can think is that he was carried by a bird of prey and dropped at some point. He was an amazing cat!
Hi he is so cute is impossible not to want to hug him squeeze just love on him.poor baby like anyone he has he's day's no touching please or I will attack🤣
Fresno was my cat he wasn't discarded. I had to surrender him to save his life it was either that or put him down. The surgeries financially I could not afford out of pocket. So surrendering him saved his life
Thank you for putting his health (&happiness) before your wants/needs ...while I know it must have cost you dearly... it was definitely the right move to take.
Some years ago there was a Maine Coon Mix (Rummy) at the local no-kill shelter. They said he needed a little TLC. What he needed was thousands of dollars of surgery. He sure was a beauty. I suppose if I had understood that he could live a normal life, I might've done it but the surgery made no sense to me at the time.
anyone else’s ankles and bones start hurting too when she was examining hims legs and knees eeeeee he was hurtinnnnn awww my legs always pop out of place when i walk i feeeeel the pain awwww iiiiiiieeeee
I went to a no-kill animal shelter and adopted the one with a sign on their cage that said: "Do not pet". If you want an actual grumpy cat you need to meet mine.
Did you guys ever address his knee issues? You said early on in the video he would need surgery on his knees; however, his hip pain was more serious and needed to be addressed first. ❤ your videos!!!
What about his knees? Will we see Fresno back for the knee surgery mentioned at the beginning of this video or is he managing the knee situation with medicine?
I have a 20 lb boy who def has the grump when strangers or stress are involved. I cant use softclaw on him tho cause he chews his claws. Front and back.... he is a punk but also appointed himself my support cat so i cant get too mad.
I have a Maine Coon mix with that exact attitude, we all live him and respect his no no zones which are his belly and tail actually anywhere past his shoulders, just best to give head, neck and chest scratchs just don't go beyond his arm pits. Funny, we raised him from a kitten, and he was supper snuggly, but then he hit adulthood and became spicy. Just touch one hair on his tail, and he'll show you his kitty rage, and let me tell you, he can be very vicious! He used to sit right behind you in the kitchen and stay at your feet and do figure 8s like a pro as you walked. There have been a few incidents where his tail has been touched or his belly, and he has a full body wrapped around a limb with all claws and teeth. My whole family has at least one scar from him, but he is also a lover and will, at his own discretion, climb in your lap and snuggle, even under your blanket from time to time.
They're called nail caps. They prevent kitty from scratching you. Takes all the real oomf out of those skippity-paps. Just don't use them on an outdoor cat. That would be devastatingly bad, as they can't defend themselves.
Fresno has got to be one of the most handsome Maine Coons I've seen. I'm so glad he had your fantastic team to help him.

Fresno turned out to be a nice cat. I guess when he was in pain, it was difficult to be nice.
I think that is true for humans too.

cut to being snuggled up like a baby and loving it
So glad he found a compatible home and can be his true pain-free self now 😊

So happy Fresno got the much needed medical attention that he needed. And then❣️ to find his forever home❣️🐾❣️
Keep an eye out on him. He looked somewhat straggly when he came back in for his last check up.
So glad you found him! Most pet owners couldn’t afford the treatments you gave him even if they could find a surgeon to do it.,
I guess he has a right to be grumpy. Poor Fresno!! So handsome is he. ☺️♥️

He's a beautiful boy with the wild and crazies! Thanks for making him feel good!
For ONLY being 2yrs old, with his hips like that he's probably been in pain most of his life! Hope his knee caps were fixed to ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful boy. I have a cat that because of the way he landed dislocated both hips AND both knees. Sweetest boy.
I broke both knee growth plates when I was young, so I feel this guys pain. Bless his beautiful heart
@Fred Johnson I live in pain daily, some days worse than others. Yay for Arthur.... arthritis! LoL
At the beginning he came across as a very friendly cat who was in a lot of pain and just miserable.
