Weird fact: the original Nickelodeon logo was a foot. This is when they hired Dan Schneider.
Nope. Dan had been working for them long before they changed the logo to a foot
That just about says it all. I thought that was weird even when I was a kid
Another Weird Fact: In ICarly a show produced by Dan Schneider, he would show the characters feet numerous times. Whether it was a smily face on it or using it to use a bow and arrow it was odd. You need to watch those scenes to understand. I grew up watching the show so I found it funny but looking at those scenes now I am disgusted.
@@carzia_speed2235 And he still incorporated feet references in "Henry Danger" with Jasper...
Nick definitely had a thing for hiring very creepy people for shows. I only remember Dan Schneider for how much of a disgusting predator he was.
There’s also Chris Savino and John K. Creators of The Loud House and Ren And Stimpy respectively
@Abluey fan at least in Chris’s case he was fired the following year where as Dan was there for more than 10. When it came to live action shows the main allegations were almost always from Dan’s shows. Shows like “The Thundermans”, “School of rock”, “The haunted hathaways” and shows from other countries like “Every witch way” and “The secret bureau of magical things” never reported issues.
Don’t forget about the creator of Little Bill non other than Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby
That is disgusting, how is this allowed on a kids TV?
To the children’s standpoint, it’s “supposed” to be funny. But looking back from an adult’s standpoint, it’s not.
Damn Nick really liked hiring people that likes kids, huh

In about 10-15 years from now, we're going to see a surge of internet/TH-cam kids who were viral in 2010's coming out to expose exploitative/abusive "family vlog" parents.
Same story, different people and entertainment medium.
I don’t think it’ll take that long. Already plenty of stories coming out now of abusive vlogger parents.
Easy fix...DONT PUT YOUR KIDS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY AND UNDER THE HANDS OF ANOTHER ADULT YOU DONT KNOW.
That too . People get too comfortable just leaving there kids with complete strangers for hours on end . I would've hired a personal shaperon to follow my kid around that set all day to make sure they were safe.
Dan Schneider, John Kricfalusi, and Chris Savino were also revealed to be creeps. Nickelodeon should look into other people who work for them and change their hiring practices
Thank you for mentioning the others. Everybody talks about Dan but many don't look into John K. I've never heard of the other name, so now I'm off to Google.

Gary coleman is the worst example he got robbed by his parents and when he grew up he didn’t have the cash that he deserved from the fane
And also Jackie Coogan aka Uncle Fester from the OG Addams Family circa '60s.

90s was wild
@@BasilMinhasyep jamie lynn spears was not on nickelodeon in the 90s
The industry has always been wild. Don't put the blame on a single decade.
I cried while watching the biography video of Shirley Temple. When I was a kid I had a friend who's family lived off her money. She was not allowed to have any friends. Many a time when there was a Teachers Workday, she would hide that information and pretend to go to school and would come to my house and play all day with me and my cousin. We would keep track of the time to make sure she got home on time. She lived just around the corner from us but completely out of sight. We moved when I was a teenager but my cousin let me know that when our friend turned 18 she left home and went "no contact" with her parents. I guess they had to get a real job after that.
I am surprised Dan "go in the van" Schneider wasn't mentioned.
so brave of them to come forward all these decades later.
Yeah conveniently. The money dried up & work is not an option for their kind. So they’re looking for a payday. I hope they get nothing
It seriously hurts how much joy these shows brought us and now this stuff is coming out. :(
I should also feel bad for the dogs that had to lick the kids in peanut butter 😢

@@jessicamontaperto810 I mean, I’ll still occasionally watch it, but I already knew all this stuff
I remember taking part in a casting hub for child stars when i was in my sophomore year in high school. I also remember my mom receiving a phone call about me moving onto the next round (i remember because i was watching the First Avengers movie in theaters when she got the call). I was the only one in my age group to receive a callback.
My parents initially refused to have me take acting classes because they were kinda expensive (nearly 2k for 6 months of acting classes). They've said that they would look locally but never followed up on it.
Now I will admit, part of me wonders what opportunities could have come from that had they've followed up, but now I'm kinda glad they didn't, seeing how a lot of these child stars turned out.
Yeah Nickelodeon should hold accountable for letting this happen for way too long and Nickelodeon is no longer safe place for any child actor
It’s not OK to walk on somebody’s back?
If you were getting or giving a professional massage, yes. But asking a child to walk on your back is a bit unusual. It’s not the worst thing you could ask a child to do, but it’s definitely not normally top of mind. At least not to me.
even as kid I thought it was gay. like clearly the people behind it had the hots for them and how it got approved is beyond me because this is softcore porn.
@LukeHartman-ro7hl No, it's not. I can't tell you how many children's movies I watched where dogs licked kids like Homeward bound for example. Is that porn?
Why would Nickelodeon, a network that aired Rugrats, encourage kids to engage in sexual activities and then film it? Everybody involved would be serving some serious time for child pornography.
People were so dumb those days. So many things were going on behind closed doors.
As former kid actor saw that sometimes.
1:00...So, where were his parents? No doubt too busy cashing his check.
My god, being covered by peanut butter and being licked by dogs. How horrible. I cant believe the atrocities he has suffered.
Ikr. Nasty dogs licking on you. He could've got a pretty nasty infection.
I'm actually more worried about the dogs. Peanut butter is not good for them 😢
I mean it's Nickelodeon. If you a kid, you're going covered in something.
Oh my God this gave me chills:/
At 1:20, when she talks about how Brian asked her to walk on his back.. that sent chills. Bc I remember reading another memoir a couple years ago where a very highly respected actress in Hollywood-like legendary actress described in her memoir the abuse her stunt -man stepfather put her through. He would ask her the same thing, bc he was always hurting himself on set. Disturbing :/ A tad triggering but okay. Wow.
As someone who used to watch Nickelodeon I'm still wondering how people in that industry from Nickelodeon parents and Paramount itself did not get charged with all abuse and a bunch of sexual charges.
Because their millionaires they pay people a ton of money to not say anything.
I'm not happy about what the co-worker did to these kids, for real!!!!!!
This should tell you something. Like keep your kids away from the freaks in Hollywood and Disney.
Never saw “on air dare” glad I never did. Dares should be simple and fun not humiliating and deplorable. They can be things like balancing a book on your head, trying not to laugh at a funny video, name all 50 states in one minute, or anything but that.

Honestly, if he was relaying how much he didn't want to be in that situation, he did a bad job. To me, it looked like he was having a good time or was goofing around. The kids always said stuff like "I don't like this" whenever they got slimed and whatnot. Gross stuff was like Nickelodeons thing back then. I get him being upset over the situation as an adult, but you can't be upset that nobody took you out of that situation when you were smiling and joking the whole time.
they use luring tactics and rewards and they didn't know better.
"Sure he said then that he didn't like it and he's still saying he didn't like it, but it looked like he liked it so that means he liked it." Is it rocks? Do you have rocks up there instead of brains?
You realize that it was scripted, and he was supposed to smile and joke? Also they cast kids based on their willingness to do anything an adult says…
@onionbubs386 What? I was commenting on the fact that he said someone should have stopped it. He mentioned that once he said, "I don't like it," they should've immediately come to help. You missed the entire point of what I was saying.
My point is that in the video, he did not look distressed whatsoever. I'm not saying that he wasn't. He surely could have been. I'm saying that based on what he said, how he said it, and his facial expressions, nobody would assume that he needed help. If you were on set that day, you would not assume that he was feeling the way he said that he was either. There is no way for people to come to help if you aren't making it clearly known. People aren't mind readers.

Off topic but the first time I saw Dan Schneider (in the movie Good Burger) I thought he was wearing a fat suit. Did anybody else think that?

You guys sure like to talk about Dan Schneider a lot. He was on Head of the Class back in eighties.
wow but the parents need to be accountable for there child being in that situation
I'm sure they thought these evil things that happened have been buried never to be spoken of again. I'm glad it's all coming tp light even after many years

As a kid I wanted cartoons I never wanted live action shows with kids. Thats why I preferred Cartoon Network over Nickelodeon
Me too when I was older. They just aired episodes of The Flintstones and Scooby Doo.
I always preferred Cartoon Network, but obviously I didn’t know about the dark reality back then
Sorry but walking on someone's back is not the same as sexual abuse.
True, but given Peck's record I can't help feel there was a sexual component to it.
@@My-cat-is-staring-at-you I would not say that. Because it's not that. Same as if you went to court and tried to put him in prison by stating that he asked you to walk on his back. Versus if he asked you if he could put his hands down your pants. It's two different things. When I was younger I actually walked on my parents back on their request because it actually helped with their back issues. It's not just sexual unless it is directly sexual.
@shipwreck8847 If we were talking about a normal person then yes. But Peck is a registered sex offender who violated a kid.
what if he removed his clothes before doing that? it kind of is sexual because some people have sexual fetishizes and kinks for pain being inflicted on them.
The best thing that comes out of this is that the words nick and childstar won't be in same sentence for a long time
This is why my mom didn't want me to go into the Entertainment business when I was a kid. I really liked all those TV shows and movies back then and I told my mom I want to act in those mediums. However she then told me about how much work it takes to do it and that it's not a good way to make a living and I changed my mind. She never mentioned the bullying and abuse that happens though.
That’s the problem. Parents always trying to sugar coat things which then makes the kids think oh it’s not so bad, I’ll just do it behind their backs tho since they already warned me. Parents need to start being real about the dangers this world has instead of making stuff up.
Looking back as a adult, I remember these skits, and wow what the heck😅

SOME OF THE AIR DARES WERE HARMLESS AND WEREN'T THAT BAD!
Ive always wanted to work for these companies, but im afraid ill end up like them somehow
I remember working in a toxic workplace environment in 2016. I got the job at a daycare, everything was going very smoothly at first but things got really bad after just a month of being there. The owner became very angry and mean. She would just do the most spiteful things to me. She would: not give me a lunch break and I would be starving all day without any food to eat and I would ask her to please let me eat something and she would say you can go 6 hours with out any food. She would be eating chicken wings right in front of me and just rub it in. She would allow all the teachers to go home and make me stay until late at night because she felt it wasn’t up to her expectations. I would work 7am - 7pm and I would ask her to let me go home and she would say No. she paid me $9 per hour and she would take money out of my check to spite me. She physically and verbally abused me . She allowed all the teachers to get away into abusing the kids. I finally left out of there after 5/12 months of harassment from the owner because she was really pushing it on me. 😢😢😢😢
I feel very bad for those child stars for having to be tortured like that as kids.

Yes me to
My mom saw me eating very expensively and started to see signs of abuse when I got home. She saw I was eating so much to where I would throw up and I was pulling my hair out to where she could see some bold spots.
She immediately drove me to a therapist and that’s when the therapist confirmed that I was being abused. The therapist was going to call Adult Protective Services if I didn’t leave that place. She said that it was straight up abuse on an adult and that action had to be taken, I immediately gave in my notice and the investigation from adult protective services was called off. Due being deprived of food, I weighed 98 pounds and I was super skinny from going hours without food and water.
The therapist was going to call services if I didn’t leave that place and she called off the investigation due to me leaving. I found out that I am not the only person she did this to but many others have said that the owner at this place is evil. I fell bad for her and I hope she gets her place shut down one day.
