Have you been to The Gambia before? 🇬🇲 Watch my epic journey from The Gambia to the most dangerous region in Senegal here: th-cam.com/video/BopJCzpWd80/w-d-xo.html
That would be a great time to visit! I wonder if you would find it any different to when you visit 26 years ago. Does it look similar when you watch videos like this?
I hope you had a great time here...and I live just at the harbor and in the near future we hope to make Banjul a better place for everyone living there and visitors too.
oh haha i actually work next door to the hotel you stay at, its a 4 tar hotel called african princess!! you should visit! or even visit one of our restaurants, 3 chicks and a grill!!
You never know what you're going to see on a ferry in another country. The craziest ferry ride We have ever taken was in Guatemala. That is a whole lot of chickens under a net. Your dessert looks tasty.
Wow, I have no doubts you'll have a memorable experience. I was apprehensive about the crossing beforehand but it actually ended up being a highlight of my trip. Hopefully my video helped give you an idea of what to expect and I hope you enjoy yourself!
@@awenaturale yup! They haggled my driver literally every 10-20 mins. Every police check point wanted some type of tip. When I finally approached the ferry, they wanted some compensation too. My driver handled everything. I wasn’t coming off any money. The ferry it’s self was actually easy and simple.
Wow nice video Ella 👌👍. As you enjoy spending time in Gambia 🇬🇲 we here celebrate the "Diwali" festival in a grand manner in India 🇮🇳. Thank you for uploading the fantastic video👍.
There is a lot of conflicting information on whether or not you need a permit to fly in Senegal and that information seems to be changing constantly. The latest information (July 2022) says you do need a permit to fly in Senegal.
Ella, pls make your videos length to 20-25 minutes coz i feel bad whenever the video ends... You're not just a vlogger but a great teacher as well through your videos i have learnt many things... Also, pls post quite often 🥺
You will be very pleased to know that my next video (on Senegal) will be longer in length. It's not finished yet but there's a lot of content to pack in so it will be at least 20 mins I would expect. This video you have just watched here covers a day where there was a lot of driving so I didn't manage to film enough to fill up a longer video. I hope you will enjoy the next video... and with that I best get working on it 😅
@@EllaMcKendrick can't wait to watch that video 😭😭😭 longer content is so fun... Trust me, i felt bad when the video ended.. Pls work harder and bring on the great content for us Ella di. ❤️🔥 You're the best.
This ferry was a domestic one between two locations within The Gambia (Barra to Banjul). We crossed the border between Senegal and The Gambia by road which is the most popular way to journey between the two.
I actually hired a local tour guide and he had his own vehicle so I am unsure of the costs to journey via taxi. Hopefully someone will respond who knows the answer.
try to come to Indonesia, I'm sure it will be an interesting trip for you, because the Indonesian people are friendly to foreigners...and for sure we are TH-cam lovers🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Filming at borders can be risky in causing upset. I didn't want to attract unwanted attention that way. We didn't pay a bribe but it's worth noting we were with a guide who had a good relationship with the border officials. Had we just been there on our own, it may have been different
@@EllaMcKendrick Hi Ella. I'm actually preparing to do this trek in a couple of weeks. I'm going solo and worry about the bribery portion at the border. Would you be willing to share your guide's information?
@@Charcmode remember reading somewhere, that it stems from the fact that former UK colonists used to pay their employees a wage of 2 shillings (UK currency pre-decimilisation).
