thank you. I live in Depoe Bay Oregon and after watching your video I learned so much and as a result, I purchased the KMA 135 R. The AP 300 battery and the AL 300 charger.
I'm glad it was of help, enjoy the new km 🙂👍
I've bought the 86 telescopic long reach. Well impressed. I get about 5 hours on standard privet. 2 ap 200 batterys. Great video Jason.
Nice one mate.
Thanks 😊👍
Jason ! I’m impressed with my new unit , you are right loads of torque ! Very happy with it , have not used extension shaft with hedge trimmer yet , that will be a good test for it . I got two battery’s , maybe ideal to have one more . Andrew
Cooolllllll 👍
Professionalism and competence.
Saluti Cordiali dall'italia.
Grazie, 😀👍
Fantastic review. The biggest problem with this tool is getting hold of one. I've ordered the FSA 135 brushcutter at the beginning of March and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. In fact most Stihl parts are hard to get as well. Something to do with either brexit or Corona. 🙄🙄🙄😡
I understand your frustration, I think with all the lock downs across the world, it's a knock on effect, even getting a bag of simple cement here is getting very difficult, hopefully, things can only improve 🤞
👍👍
Let's hope so. Hopefully it might arrive before the grass cutting season ends. I'll make do with my petrol FS 131 strimmer 👍👍
If one already has the attachments it’s the best solution. For those others a dedicated HLA 86 hedge trimmer might come more handy; it’s lighter and more flexible as far as the length adjustment goes. Now, this machine has more power and those 4.000 cuts/min, but is this a huge plus? Waiting for a sequel to this video. A great review as usual and an amazing gardener at work!
Thanks 👍.
I agree, if your just looking for a hedge trimmer, the hla86 or hla66 would be a good choice, iv not used the hla86, but have the older hla85 and that's a really good machine, but if someone has the attachments, the kombi is perfect.
👍👍👍
@@jasongardener3425 I don’t have the HLA86 either; yet. The dealer’s spring stock was not delivered till summer and then only in limited quantity; then the batteries went rare; after this another item was out of stock. I was listening to journalists and politicians that everything was normalising and thus I didn’t make a reservation; now I’m hopeful to get everything till September, if I pay one month in advance (reservation of sorts). Back to your machine; I think it will prolong your mileage; much more comfortable to work with than the petrol.
Why does nobody mention the HLA 135? All I see n hear is the 86 or 66(?)
@@brayvdb2191 , it's a very specific machine. In other words - heavy. HLA86 length is easily adjustable, it's lighter and more flexible. The only real advantage of the HLA 135 is that it's more powerful and that is of little use for trimming tasks; it's a cutting machine.
I finally received mine mid June. It replaces my KM94R, in comparison the KMA135R has way more power and certainly more torque, gives full power straightaway, no need to wait forthe motor to get warm, no need to pull the cord, you can leave onto the grass without burning the grass with the exhaust. It doesn't bog down even when put the string against the ground, it just digs into the ground. The motor is super silent and generates very little vibration. It is a bit heavier with an AP200 then KM94R with full tank. If you don't trim all day long (low battery run time), I defenitely recommend this motor. It surpasses the petrol unit in many ways.
Great to hear you like the machine.
👍👍
Thanks for the review Jason,
I'd ordered 1 along with the hla 86 telescopic in March. Got both last week. Hla 86 is a beast heavy but Plently of torc. And only used the 135 twice so far, so lucky stihl give you gifts 🤣🤣🤣🍀well done mate.
Cheers mate, iv not tried the 86, but have the older Hla85 and it's a really good machine, the kma135 r is a real jump in power, but both great
👍👍👍
Must be nice to be gifted items to try. I look forward to that in the future. It looks very light. Looks like something I would enjoy using. Thanks for the review.
It's great being gifted, but there is a lot of hard work, that isn't seen, it was a very different video to make, as so many variables to the machine and trying to give as much information, its a great machine, you would definitely enjoy it one.
😊👍
Thanks Jason, Iv been looking at this machine for some time, and I think I will go out and get one as I 100% trust your opinion 👍
Thanks mate, I'm glad it's helped you, it really is a great machine.
😀👍
Hi Jason Nice review I Ordered one after seeing the fully charged gardeners video just a long Wait to get one Thanks
Cool, glad it was helpful, hopefully shock will improve and quicker delivery.
😊👍👍
@@jasongardener3425 Thanks For the reply
@@DJC995 👍👍👍
Thought I'd also recommend a single shoulder harness for extended leaf-blowing and anti-vibration gloves. A press-to-check filter mask is a must. Dont be breathing in all that dust... Especially off of Ivy
Looks good. I ordered mine on 10/08/21 with an estimated delivery of 24/09, got an email saying it had moved back to 13/10, now just had another email saying it will be 28/10/21. So bear that in mind if ordering
Great review, thank you 🙏!
🙂👍
Thank you Jason for yet another fantastic review 👏
Thanks Andrew, really appreciate that 😀👍👍
Fantastic piece of kit and great honest review mate👍🏼
Thanks young man 😀👍
Very good review pal. Plus congratulations on your 10k subs 👌👌
Thanks and thanks again mate 😀👍
A good review Jason, also well done on 10k subs. 👍
Thanks Jason 😀👍
honest review as always Jason . it's the 4000 spm that takes it to another level . no going back to Titan now mate . 👍🌲
Thanks goerdie mate, iv still got a titan in shed lol, the 4000 is super fast and bags of power behind it too.
Hope your keeping well mate
😀👍
@@jasongardener3425 yes fine mate just ticking them hedges off etc 👍
you , are a very good gardener
Great review mate, I am definitely going battery for my next long reach hedge cutter. Must be easier on the arms too.
Cool, thanks mate 👍👍
They're kinda the same weight as your usual petrol kombi tbh
Nice one Jason. Great review
Thanks mate 👍👍😀
Good review mate, how many batteries would you take with you for a normal days work?
Cheers mate, I always take all 3 with me, depending what I'm doing, 1 is enough on a simple maintenance day , but use all 3 some days on other jobs
👍👍
Thanks pal 👍
I have a hawthorn hedge, and I cut it twice a year, once about now in June, after flower, to shape it, and again later in the year when all the leaves have fallen.
The winter stems can be a bit woody, can this machine handle work like that?
I used to be able to get my hands on a 2 stroke Stihl long reach machine, not sure which model but I see the hedge trimmer attachments for electric and 2 stroke are very similar. It was an awesome machine, but I don't like the 2stroke fumes.
Yep 135R is a torque grinder
Great vid as always. Love the reviews
Thanks mate, glad you enjoy the videos 😀👍
Have been waiting on these for months now, wanted to trial before buying but have had to commit to buying without the opportunity to trial due to demand and availability. Hopefully mine will be in stock nearer the end of this month. I copied you and use a short shaft hedge cutter attachment with my 94......how do you find the balance with the short shaft and 135? Will be using 300 batteries so hoping it's not gonna feel too 'engine's heavy? Also, does the throttle feathering work well and does it hold consistent rpms? My 94 has never held consistent rpms when feathering, which is a pita when strimming/edging. Rpms drop off, line drops and then tries to catch. Nice review mate, been hoping inward gonna see your review before I spent my hard earned lol 👍
GREAT video! Very informative. Honest opinion on run times, too. I was impressed with its blower attachment. Thanx for the vid, Jason. Have you seen that Darwin Grip attachment? It might help you with your concern about the fit of the handle. I'm short so that angle doesn't effect me, but when the taller husband starts using the edger or weed whacker, the Darwins Grip attachment is a life saver for him.
Yeah, iv seen them on yt and insta, but never tried one, it's on the list 😀👍
Good review mate and 10k subs 👍
Cheers mate 😀👍
Your a dap hand with the hedge trimmer!
🙂
I’m tempted mate ! Do you have two batteries ? Never known such a fast growth rate as this year !! Hope you are well . ? Andrew
I have 3 battery's in total as slightly different weights.
All good and very busy, yeah growth is just mad this year, in 30 years, I can't remember a year like it.
Take care mate 😀👍
If you do 11 jobs a day, with the trimmer, hedge-cutter, leaf-blower attachments.... how many batteries will you need? Really want to buy this machine, but I'd need so many batteries. I'll use the Km 131r's leaf-blower for nearly an hour on a couple of my big job's.
I just love my KM94RCE though!...
Km94 is a really good machine, iv got 2, battery isn't every one's cup of tea, but it really does have great benefits and power.
👍👍
A good bit of kit mate
Thanks mick 😀👍
Great vid mate 👍! When using as a strimmer or hedge cutter didn’t you notice less vibration in your hands as a poised to a petrol equivalent?
Hope that made sense ! What I was getting at is did it cause less vibrations
Hi, yes, I think it's less vibration 👍👌
How is the weight when using it as a hedge trimmer? I have the dewalt and it is so unbalanced and heavy when doing taller bushes.
Hi great video. I'm fed up of using my heavy noisy km131r and have been looking at this for hedge cutting. From what I can see with the attachment and 300s battery it will be heavier then the petrol unit. Do you find this heavy whilst hedge cutting?
Hi, iv mostly put a ap 300 in, iv not got a km131, but do have the km94, and the mka 135 is a tad heavier, but not found that a issue, the quietness and general ease of use, you would like.
Hope that helped
Cheers mate 👍👍
@@jasongardener3425 hi yes that's helped so it might will probably feel just as heavy as my 131r. You're right about the quietness will be a big benefit. I'm also going to look at the hla 66 and 86
@@martindalelawnlandscaping6660 I'm using the kma135r with hedge cutter at the moment and in all honesty it's a tad heavier, but it's fun as i don't seem to feel it, think best is to hold one in your dealers and get battery /attachment on and feel it, you will really like the 66 86 👌
One year plus on should you buy one again, from one gardener to another?
Hi, yes I would still buy one, iv had no issue and been very reliable in all weather's 🙂👍
@@jasongardener3425 would you recommend a 3 or more of the 500s battery's for all day use commercial hedges and strimming?
@@finmichefinch5420 the 500s will make it heavy and unless your a big lad, I wouldn't recommend 500, 300s would be my choice, 3x300s would do all day hedge cutter, but wouldn't do all day strimming, but just take your charger with you and charge one battery as you use another
Hi ,
Whats is better :
Kma120 or kma 135 ?
Hi Jason , I have finally got mine coming to my dealer this week , he said to use 300 s battery with it , is this what you use ? Looking forward to trying it out , hope you are well mate , and enjoying the leaf clearing season 👍Andrew
Yeah 300s is good, enjoy the new kombi, new tools are always great 👍👍👍
@@jasongardener3425 thanks , is that battery ok in hand held hedge trimmer ? My dealer said it might be a bit heavy . Andrew
@@andrewchapman1511 it all depends on how you feel about the weight, in a hand held trimmer, I perfer ap200, because it's lighter, so your dealer is right in a way
Hi Jason. Thanks for the review. Would you recommend this unit over the KMA 130 R in terms of balance? I was wondering how battery weight as part of the unit might affect the handling of the various attachments compared to the 135? Still pondering which one to get.
Did you make a decision?
@@joshuabush2569 I decided not to spend the money ;)
@@mizoo3000 that's understandable... it's certainly not cheap!
Good stuff
Cheers
😀 A great review - Some cool camera angles 👍
It really is a beaut bit of kit.
Thanks mate, it's a really powerful machine 😀😀👍
Nice Video, i would Like to use this for another opinion of my Gas multitool.
Thanks mate 😊👍
That is Nice one Thing Dose it All!!!!
How are you finding it since the review?
Not trying to hate on the video but what happens when you cut the headge properly around Christmas time when you're cutting into thicker material. And strimming harder that battery electric power is just not there yet.
I can only put so much footage in the video, otherwise it would be a 2 hour movie lol, I can honestly say, iv strimmed down 2 foot high grass, with no problems, I read a lot, about people think battery doesn't have the power, which really isn't the case, you would be amazed how much power there is.
Not taken as hate mate, 👍👍
Looks good
It's a really powerful machine 😊👍👍
Good review. Hedgecutters yes, blower however looks very cumbersome. Also really want a standalone blower as it’s often used.
I know what you mean, I find with the blower, because it's longer, I'm able to stand up straight and not bend forward or sideways slightly, as I do will normal hand held blower, but it difficult to use in tight areas.
👍👍👍
Can you not move the handle to adjust the balance by loosening the screws.
It's not a tool-less adjustment.
I love the stihl tools but man that thing sounds like it's got a rod knocking?
is the axle for the kombitools the same as husqvarnas multitool? are they interchangeable
No, stihl is square drive and husqvarna if I remember rightly is spline drive 👍
@@jasongardener3425 cheers for the quick answer
I like that
You could probably use wing nuts to make it adjustable without needing tools.
Yes good idea, but would be difficult as the nuts are sunk into the handle.
Cheers mate 👍👍😀
@@jasongardener3425 could you not use Wing screws on the other side or are they sunk also?
2:50 mate you got vanes line hose pipes
Anyone on here actually used the leaf-blower attachment for more than 30minutes without it running out of power on this machine? Not bashing it, would love one of these, but when will one battery compete will one full tank in the KM-131R
I'd be more worried about the cost of replacing that battery it must be expensive
In 2+ years of being battery, iv had no issues with any of my battery's or replace any 👍
@jasongardener3425 That's amazing thanks for the advice
Sorry Stihl residential only not commercial.
I use these commercially and have had zero issues. We are converting to all electric with the gas being backups and for use in Heavy brush. These cut brush but will kill the battery in about 30min on full power
This is very much a commercial professional machine 👍
