Shaye does look like her grandma. That little blonde headed girl I believe is the closest singer they have had that fits best Rose Carter's high soprano voice. I'd love to see Shayes children cousins take it even further into the years
I just tuned I I am 80 now I used to lieson to on my car radio when I was young I have had a stressful day when I go home the first thing I did was turn to my U.T. this ran the devil off try it gospel music only for me❤😂😊❤ it works Jesus only can bring us peace Praise the Lord l say for them and bless tjem.
It is pretty amazing that, now 20 years later, 3 of the 4 singers are still with the group. Melissa has spent a lot of time to sound like Rose Carter. If not for her, the group wouldn't sound like the Chuck Wagon Gang.
I remember hearing this song the Church in the wildwood, my oldest son used to like hearing this song when he was a young man.. Now my son is a grown man who doesn't want no part of the Lord at all pray for my son Ricky Carter and my youngest son needs the Lord as well as at least he will listen to gospel music and preaching and he knows he needs to give his heart to the Lord his name is Aaron Carter.. I remember listening to the Chuck Wagon Gang on a radio program out of Louisiana called the Charlie Douglas Road Gang. If this is great, and it is, imagine what HEAVEN will be like.
I was very blessed and fortunate to have seen the line up of Anna, Rose, Jim, Roy and Gordon way back in the 60's at the church our family attended. I was young but it didn't matter young or old, when they sung that first note it was like WHOA this is going to be something special, and it was VERY special. I'm not sure but it seems like it was the church's homecoming and there was standing room only in the church and it was a good sized church. I know The Chuck Wagon Gang was my dad's favorite group, I then could see why. After the service was over I remember the members of The Chuck Wagon Gang talking to the people, they were very friendly and pleasant folks, I believe my mom and dad bought a few of their albums before we left, I think it was when their newest album Lord Lead Me On was just released. I guess that memory becomes more precious as the years go by because I got to see, meet and hear three of the original members of The Chuck Wagon Gang. Since then I have seen the line up of Stan Hill, Penny Green, Julie Hudson and Dave Emery whom I thought were VERY awesome also. I have also seen the line up of Shaye Smith, Stan Hill, Melissa Kemper and Jeremy Stephens and again that sound was just so special, to continue that tradition singing the songs just like the original members sang them was a testament to the original members. By the way this line up was VERY VERY good also. After the concert was over the last line up I mentioned had several items in the back of the church for sale, which I bought several items, a Chuck Wagon Gang hat, a couple of CD's, a DVD series of the history of The Chuck Wagon Gang. I got to meet and talk with all of them, some of the most down to earth folks you would ever meet. I remember Stan Hill was absent for a few minutes and he showed back up dressed in blue jeans and a t-shirt, I remarked that was a quick change, and he said something like, hey if i'm going to be several hours on the bus getting home i'm going to be comfortable getting there at which we both had a good chuckle. To give a little perspective on just how big The Chuck Wagon Gang is, they have sang with the likes of George Jones, The Oak Ridge Boys, Marty Stuart, Bill Anderson, John Conlee, The Jordanaires, The Gatlin Brothers, Ricky Skaggs and many others. Folks like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Charlie Daniels and MANY other A-list artists are HUGE fans of The Chuck Wagon Gang. At one time they were the biggest selling artist that Columbia records had selling OVER 39 million records. Yet if you get the opportunity to meet the members of The Chuck Wagon Gang you would think you were talking to a neighbor down the road, they are truly some AMAZING people. I am a huge fan of The Chuck Wagon Gang's music, I think I am a bigger fan of the people that make up The Chuck Wagon Gang.
Melissa goes way back to 2001, singing with The Chuck Wagon Gang. I have seen videos of Shaye singing with her Uncle Roy. Therefore, in this group you a have couple old timers. Josh Garner especially captures that wonderful tenor sound. Darrell Morris appears to be a lovely Christian individual, quite humble and musically gifted. I also recall Darrell in the early years as well.

They are keeping true to the original Gang. Original Gang did not have a backing band. They were also acoustic.
