    I have just fitted the Martech system to my van. Very happy with the product but, as you say, the installation instructions could be massively improved. Thanks for taking the time to make this really helpful video. It made the install much easier.

    Fantastic video fella when you said at the beginning of the video you weren't going to tell us the company I thought here we go.
    But credit were credits due.

    And big thanks for your install video.
    Very very helpful.

    I just bought the more basic kit. No instructions at all, and noticed on the Web site that they only offer a guarantee it if fitted "by a mechanic" or by Martech. I emailed that I was disappointed by this but have had no reply after two working days. I have fitted one side so far - I am seventy so I too am 'too old for this game' 😀, and have to work in stages.
    I pumped up my one side with a bike pump to 2.5 bar, which I think will be plenty by the look of it.
    Thanks for the video, I could have worked it out (I was a 'mechanic' many years ago) but I found it reassuring to see how you did it.
    I thought I would mention here that you (and I) used loctite blue since I feel that is important.
    Thanks again :)

      Thanks for your reply I’m glad you’ve got the job done. As you know I had a faulty bag but it was replaced and I’ve kept the possibly faulty one as a emergency spare as I’m sure I could if needed replace it roadside. Best wishes.

    Hi, have you any concern that the airbag airline connections are on top? Im wondering if over a period of time moisture/water from the comoressed air can pool in the bottom of the bags. I know in my workshop i have to drain my compressor daily, especially in summer.
    Without stripping it apart there's no way to get the water out. Am i worrying about nothing?

    • @porscheminormechanicsrando8394
      @porscheminormechanicsrando8394 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi not really. There’s plenty of room for the air line and the conduit along with secure fixings along the chassis. The top mounting bracket also has provision for a clear run. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on them. The Campervan has just passed its MOT and the garage are ruthless with Campervans 😂

      There is not a lot of new air going in/out of the bags. For the most part, when the bags are set at around 1 bar, there is little inflating/deflating to do. It would be easy to install a water catch/drain at a low point in the tubing if concerned.

    • @porscheminormechanicsrando8394
      @porscheminormechanicsrando8394 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t have any concerns this early on but I would definitely pop the bags out next summer to inspect them. The airlines on top is for me the best option as they are secure against the chassis and there is no movement in the airlines because the top of the bag is a solid mount . If they were on the bottom they would be up and down like a yo-yo with the leaf springs and the air bag and could easily get damaged or even blow out if a line were to fracture. It’s just a safer option to me.

    😂 it’s a 3 hour job but it took me two days to do it properly. So it’s a two day job. It’s just taken almost 3 hours to get the bump stops off the van I’m doing because the captivated nut broke free in the chassis.

      I have thought about it but it does stiffen the ride considerably which the air bag’s managed very well. So I’ll probably leave it as it is for now. Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers.

    • @porscheminormechanicsrando8394
      @porscheminormechanicsrando8394 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure what setup you have but it sounds like you have a air leak. Are your bags independent or both linked together? I’m guessing you have one gauge and valve as there both deflating.

      The pressure will fluctuate a lot during driving but the the pressure should be still be the same when you stop. If you have a pressure relief valve in-line it may be faulty. What pressure are you running around in?

    not bump stop, they are spring assistors.

    • @porscheminormechanicsrando8394
      @porscheminormechanicsrando8394 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I disagree. When deflated they act as the the original bump stop would have, although it’s not a good idea to drive at speed deflated but stationary and for manoeuvring purposes is just fine.
