- For the first time in Mac Eats history, China Mac travels outside of NYC to Philadelphia and tries the city's staple dish; Cheesesteak, and invites OT The Real too for some history. The two most popular places in the city are Pat's and Geno's, and for years there has been an argument over who has the better cheesesteak. The two have their own cult-like followings and their reasons on why one is better than the rest. So for this episode, Mac decides to chime in on the conversation and give his opinion.

I was born and raised in South Philly. I would say John's Roast Pork has my vote for the best cheesesteaks overall. The secret for a good Philly cheesesteak is the bread. Without good bread, it becomes a bowl because the bread ends up being too soggy to eat so you have to use a fork or something. Gooie Louie's is another tough joint to check out too.
Out of these two spots though, I would give it to Pat's.
Jim's is better and many other spots in philly. Genes and Pat's are for out of towners

I went to Philadelphia back In 09’ and I only tried Geno’s. It was great!! Now seeing this episode I wish I would have went to both of them so I could have seen for myself who was better. Great episode China Mac.

I already knew to skip Geno’s and Pat’s upon arriving in Philly. Dalessandro’s was my first stop, but of all the places that stood out for me was John’s Roast and Ishkabibbles! Went to Ishkabibbles like thrice the whole time I was there. Even the morning before my flight back to the West Coast. BOMBBB!

I love your honesty and I felt the same way when I ate at Geno's. My cousin hyped it up and i felt a bit disappointed with the taste. It was good but nothing special. He told me about Pat's but I was too full to and eat there after Geno's lol. I'll try Pat's next time I'm in Philly.

Ishkabibbles the best cheesesteak I've ever had in Philly. Makes Pats/Genos look mediocre. Though I like Pats > Genos if I had to pick.
Delasandros is banging Johnny Hots are banging too. There a lot of better places in and around a Philly that got good steaks. Actually one of favorite is Leo’s Steaks down in DelCo. I lived here my whole life.
