As a guitarist for 20 years or so myself I can say that Quinn Allman was a BEAST of a songwriter and a very unique player, some of his riffs I still struggle with how to play correctly....can't believe you'd ever part ways with him.

I'm talking more specifically about his extremely fast, difficult, chaotic picking on stuff like a Box Full of Sharp Objects, tapping on stuff like I Caught Fire, the intro chord pattern to Let It Bleed, and plenty of other songs. He's a very rounded guitarist, and as I always say, if it's easy post some covers meathead.

I used to love you guys, but after the stunt you pulled with Quinn, I'm out - sticking with the old albums and closing the book. Just remember: unethical decision making and misrepresentation WILL haunt you. Sure you'll still have a large fan base, but that stain will stick with you guys forever. It's sad to see something beautiful lose its roots.

I've never been a huge fan of The Used. I grew up in Provo, Utah and remember seeing Branden Steineckert at my high school and when he worked at Hot Topic before they became famous. I saw them one time in 2002 soon after they first got signed at Suite 13 in Orem, Utah. It is sad to see what has happened to the band. It's normal for bands to change out members, but usually the most drastic changes in members happens "before" they become famous. For The Used to lose 3/4ths of their members who are responsible for starting the band and making them famous after multiple successful albums is highly rare. So I find this to be very troubling.
it's not unusual at all to change personnel, especially in high profile bands. Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Faith No More, Deep Purple, Bush.. anyways tons of others.. Bands change members more after they get famous... due to GREED... some members feel that they are entitled to more $$$$, publishing royalties than others...
Branden has a podcast and he recently did an episode with Quinn where they talked about everything that happened that lead them to not being in the band anymore. x96.com/801punx/ Episode 10. Quinn starts talking about why he's not in the band at the 100:40 mark.

I’m a huge fan of the used and I got along great with Bert, Dan and Jeph, even Branden was cool but Quinn was always a jerk to me cuz I never put him on a pedestal like alot of The Used fans did

This band became a skid mark band after Branden and Quinn left. Both of these guys wrote horrible music and it’s so obvious Quinn and Branden carried that band.
It's a shame he fucked up his voice... I really liked this band , but I just lost the pace on their new material, how are they doing nowadays? Musically
