    I ended up buying a pair of EV Evolve 50(in White), and I am extremely pleased. I bought them with use at home(guitar looping practice) and a few small gigs for church. No sooner than I got them, I was asked to supply sound for a church service in a large auditorium(seats 520) and they were MORE than enough for a band with Acoustic Drum Set, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar and two Vocals. Miking up the drums was done with a Beta 52 and single Rode NT5, Bass, Guitars and Keys all went direct. They were mixed through an Allen & Heath QuPAC mixer via AB168 Stage Box and monitoring was done wire via Behringer Headphone amp and wired IEMs. Not only were the Evolve 50s loud enough, but the sound was incredibly smooth with very punchy bass. I was genuinely expecting the pair of Evolve 50s would not be enough. And boy I was surprised. There were even quite a few positive comments on the quality of sound. So yeah, I'm glad I bought the Electrovoice Evolve 50s.

    I went to guitar center & played some Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins & Euge Groove through many column speakers with subs. I was listening for Highs, Mids, Midlows & Lows, clarity, punch & headroom. I played songs from these artist for close to flat mixes. Yes I used a cord from my iPhone & used Wave Files.
    I played the music through Harbinger MLS900 & MLS1000, EV 30 & 50, Bose L1 Pro8, JBL PRX1 & the Yamaha Stagepas 1k. All flat, No eq & went from low volume to medium to cranked.
    The salesman shut the doors & let me have at it.
    The EV’s stood out with a great even frequency response with some midlows with the EV’s while the rest had little to none, highs were crisp with EV’s & the vocals, saxophones, guitars & keys sounded excellent. Bass GTR & kick were sweet also. Snare was excellent with the mids & highs. Nice snap.
    For me personally I prefer the EV’s hands down.
    Hoping to hear the RCF Evox 8 & 12, DB Es1203 ES 1002 & 503, HK Polar 10 & 12’s, LD Maui44’s. Yes there’s a price difference but you get what u pay for. It also depends on the size of event.

    I bought the Bose L1 Pro 8 and use it with Roland V Drums. When I use my headphones, the sound from streaming music and playing the kit is very clear. When I switch to the Bose, it will tend to drop out the streaming music volume and the drum sound stays level. How do I adjust the speaker so it doesn't lower the volume on the streaming music?

    • @ProAcoustics

      Hi there! It sounds like there may be some gain staging that needs to be done. I would start with the control app to ensure that the level for the Bluetooth is correct and work your way through the signal chain from there. If that doesn't resolve the issue feel free to give us a call at (888) 256-4112 to go through it further.

      Hi there! Unfortunately these particular products are not recommended for home use. They are designed for professional audio, live performance and public address type applications. My initial concern with using one in a home would be that the horizontal coverage would be too wide for most home applications.

    Do you typically use these in pairs for gigs or just one? It seems strange that they don’t come in pairs, one with mixer, one without. So if you do buy two for the stage, they both have the full mixer?

    • @ProAcoustics
      @ProAcoustics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joe,
      Depending on the size of audience you're hoping to cover and the size of the space, you can definitely pair two systems together via line output from one to another system. In that scenario, you would just use the mixer in the primary system. Let us know if we can help with anything else.

    This video seems a little older and didnt include the Bose F1 812 column. How does that compare for a rock band that wants to play for small-mid size venues up to 250 people?

    • @ProAcoustics
      @ProAcoustics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Scott,
      Thanks for watching! This video is a little over a year old and was not all-inclusive.
      The Bose F1 Model 812 is a full-range array loudspeaker (meaning it spans a wide portion of the frequency spectrum) but it does not have a built-in subwoofer like some of the other models discussed in this video. It does have a low-frequency driver behind the array of 8 high-output drivers but the 12" LF is designed to fill out the lows and low mid-range. For additional bass response, the Bose F1 Subwoofer can be paired with the F1 Model 812 speaker array, which is designed to mount on top of the sub. While the other systems here already have a dedicated subwoofer to handle the bass frequencies. The F1 is also 1,000 watts alone versus the Electro-Voice Evolve 50 which is 1,000 watts across the column and the subwoofer. So there are slight variations between the Bose F1 Model 812 and the other models we are presenting here.
      I hope that answers your question. • @ProAcoustics
      @ProAcoustics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, 1 unit should be sufficient for a small band as long as you’re not needing more than 1 or 2 inputs. For example, if you needed 2 mics for singers and you also wanted to mic the drums. In that case, we’d recommend including a mixer to accommodate the additional microphones.

    I have a church. Room is 20 feet wide, 60 foot long. Right now we are using high wattage QSC speakers.
    Would these sound better?

    • @ProAcoustics
      @ProAcoustics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Doug, Are you unhappy with the performance of your current system?
      QSC makes some great speakers. However, column arrays have inherently different characteristics than traditional loudspeakers. Column arrays tend to have better vocal intelligibility in a small form factor and also less of differentiation in volume from the front to the back of the room for a more even coverage. It will also depend on if you're looking for a super high output volume and bass level output or if this is a more traditional worship environment. A column array might be a good solution for you, but I'd recommend one of the larger models for a room your size.

      Hi there!
      Thanks so much for watching! I took another look at the specs and at most, you have 2 balanced inputs on any of these systems. You could however accommodate multiple microphones, instruments, etc. if you add an external mixer to any of these.
      Bose has a 4 and 8 channel mixers that are specifically designed to work well with the L1 line (TS4 and TS8). Here is a link to those if you're interested: www.proacousticsusa.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?cat=1612&manufacturer%5B0%5D=Bose+Pro+Audio&q=Bose+Tonematch

    How does the Behri C200 sound with only 4 x 2.5-inch HF drivers? All the other colum systems have at least 8 HF drivers. I am also thinking, a single 8-inch woofer for the low freq is just not going to be enough for much. Also, the LED light bar makes it too gimicky, fortunately you can just not install that light bar and install the HF bar right on top the base unit.

    • @ProAcoustics

      Thanks for viewing and for the feedback. It's true that the C200 doesn't have the size or power of a larger column array, but while you are not going to get a kick to the chest with bass performance, you still get a well-balanced sound for small workout spaces and other areas where a super loud system isn't required. When persons who needs a column speaker, saw, what the C 200 can do and can't, they will come to the conclusion, that the MAUI 5 price is not so expensive at all. And persons who would like the flickering light, doesn't need column speakers.

      There is a battery powered version of LD Systems MAUI 5, the MAUI 5 go, I would recommend. This system is not so far from Bose L1 compact, ok, there is no tonematch, so I would also recommend to use for the microphone a TC Helicon Mic Mechanic, that makes the sound crisp (you can feed it into MAUI 5's microphone in) and for guitar a battery powered digital acoustic guitar effect.

    The Bose L1 Compact is now kind of obsolete, replaced by the L1 Pro8 which costs $1200. the Behringer now is the C210B which costs $330; a bit of a price drop. I'd also look at a JBL Eon One Pro, which has had a $300 price drop and now costs below $500. Back in 2018, I bought a JBL Eon One, costing around $900, a big, fat, ugly speaker but sounding really good! :) It does not have a battery like the Eon One Pro which has replaced it.

    The reverb from the prxone is no more than a cheep reverb from a $10 cheep guitar amplifier.the app don't work correctly winding knobs and cannot connect a separate reverb unit as there is no send&return do not waist your money like 100%

    For the price you can purchase x2 mackie 15inch 1000watt powered speakers with tripods. These might be fine for small conference speaking but as for music in a noisy bar they would get drowned out… and the fact they are $1300 a pop x 2 would be $2,600 😳 whaaa? Not worth the money & not up to any pro kind of music performance. Just a fad. Buy Active speakers & have STEREO. This mono arrangement is just crazy.

      I will be real interested to see your review on the Harbinger MLS900. I know a DJ locally who carries a stack of speakers in his van. But he will often pull out a couple of the harbingers unless it's a huge room. I was actually blown away the first time I heard him with only one of them.
