Man I wish Austin was still this cool. I remember passing the stage on sixth on this day and realized who was loading in. Long story short it was well worth losing my job that day to witness this in person
This band is one of the best live performances I've seen and I've always gone to check them out anytime i hear they're playing anywhere near where i happen to be in my travels. I used to work in entertainment, so I've seen thousands of acts over the years and I'd put them right up there with Ween, Radiohead, Beck, Flaming Lips, Pavement, Nirvana, Pixies.. they are amongst the very best of all time among all the greatest indie acts.
Dougs playing, guitar style and songwriting are aging like a fine wine.
Friend gave me this album when it came out. This is the song that hooked me. I always thought the lyrics were "if it came down to your life or mine, I'd do a stupid thing and let you keep haunting me."
Looks like it's actually "I'd let you keep on living" ...I had to look it up because I said to myself, "wait I've been saying the wrong words all this time ?"
