We just spent 4 days in Yosemite. We stayed at Tenaya Explorer cabins & it was Amazing. We drove to the valley everyday and rode our E-bikes through out the valley floor. The memories Yosemite creates are precious and will forever etch your heart. Appreciate your tour & knowledge. 👍😉
I stayed at Curry Village last month (July 2023) for four nights in a tent cabin. This video sums up Curry Village perfectly. This was my first multiple night stay camping trip as an adult. I've done Camp Green Meadows twice: once as a kid and then as a high school student, so I know about communal bathrooms (besides the college dorm experience). I've also been to 4-H camp as a kid, but I wouldn't say that I'm an outdoorsy type of person. With that said, I loved Curry Village! This is as close to "roughing it" as I want to get. It was a last minute trip with a friend of my sister, so I didn't have time to research and plan. But now that I know what to expect, I am excited for my trip next July! I found your YT by doing a google search for Curry Village. I'm so glad that I did!
I just reserved a cabin in Curry Village less than 2 weeks before my trip lol. I’m guessing that’s because it’s November. Wish me luck! I’m scared that it will snow and driving conditions will be bad
Hi. Thanks for this video. I will be visiting and staying at Curry Village in early November. This will be my first time to Yosemite. Do I need a National Park pass or something?
Can you please tell me, if you have a reservation at curry village are you guaranteed a car park, how does it work ? Was booked to come from Australia in 2020 but we all know what happened then 😷(Covid) so had to cancel. Thank you for your help.
The paved parking in Curry is supposed to be for Curry Village reservations only but during the day no one really listens to that if I'm being honest. I would still suggest arriving early to get a parking spot or later in the evening.
Hello! Thanks for your question! There are showers available for purchase at the Curry Village Registration Office for those staying at the Upper, Lower, and North Pines campgrounds. Last time I checked it costs $5 for a shower but that is subject to change.
If anyone cancels a reservation at curry village does the website display the availability after midnight? I am looking to visit in two weeks and don’t have a reservation 😩
Yeah it goes back online instantly. Usually gets booked instantly too. So you honestly just have to keep refreshing the page, no set time that cancelations show up.
@@MoonstoneMountaineer if we can’t find a place to stay inside the park and outside is too far to commute for the three days we’ll be in the park. I figured we could sleep in our car but would need to shower and use restrooms in the AM. Is there any place inside the park where we could park and sleep inside our cars?
@@MoonstoneMountaineer thanks, we needed up booking a hotel. We are planning on doing the guided hikes that the park offers. We booked the adventure hike Vernal and Nevada waterfalls and for a different day we saw there is a hike called “discovery hike” do you know if they are the similar or the same hike? Or completely different?
I had breakfast in the 7-tents pavilion at Curry Village - on 7/12/2023 at 7:10 a.m., just after they opened up: potatoes and eggs were barely even tepid - very disappointing. The server had a sour expression on the whole time.
My parents loved Curry Village. I did not as a kid. The pool was always crowded so you could barely move. I'm talking 1940's & 50's. My mother, an ex professional burlesque dancer, loved the dances held nightly. I tried to avoid them. I have rarely stayed at Curry since. As adults we camped & backpacked the high country. much better. In a pinch we stayed at a Curry cabin a few years ago for 1 night when we couldn't get our Yosemite Lodge accommodations for all 3 nights of our stay and it was snowing. We were up to our knees in snow eacn time we went in and out of that cabin. I would try to avoid Curry. The tent cabins are noisy as groups of school kids who stay up all night stay in them. They used to be cheap but now are over $100/nt. Heat is more expensive. You might as well use Housekeeping. That's over $100/night now too. The park itself is well worth whatever you have to do to stay there. It's the most beautiful place on earth in my opinion.

I watched all your beginners guide and I have to say, great work and information. I love the clarity of your voice. Keep it up 👍
Thank you! Means a lot to me :)

You'll need a park pass but you can purchase that at the entrance station.

Unfortunately there is no place to sleep legally inside your car inside the valley.

I'll be arriving at Curry village this Sunday, sometime after 5 or 6pm; should i expect heavy traffic?
5 or 6 should be okay. Since it's a weekend you should still expect some traffic but it won't be like the morning
