It really sucks Sasuke, didn’t get to develop that mindset further to keep him from being manipulated by Orochimaru, though admittedly the series wouldn’t be nearly as interesting if Sasuke, didn’t turn evil/antihero, since that’s a majority of the series like most of part 1, and a lot of part 2, plus seeing him grow in power because of it’s engaging.
That's not what he's saying tho, it's more along the line of "if i can't overcome this dangerous and life threatening situation, how can I beat Itachi who slaughtered the entire Uchiha clan"

@@charleschiemekaekeogu6908 XD no idea how he came to that other conclusion but sometimes people like to bend the truth to their liking so I can't fault him him for wanting to see a Sasuke that cares more about his friends than his life goal, the only time that was the case was when he nearly sacrificed his life to protect Naruto from Haku. In the Chunnin exam arc Sasuke is nothing but frustrated at the prospect that he might not be that strong and that Naruto is quickly becoming stronger than him. The breaking point being when Itachi toys with him while looking for Naruto

In fact it was only after Sasuke survived did he even consider branding him (and even that seal was nerfing Sasuke to make him braindead so Orochimaru could just take over.... till he found Sasuke himself interesting).
@@QuetzalcoatlTK he wasn't completely but this wasn't his body. So I guess tho he was nerfed Orochimaru was going Itachi style (either u survive or u die). Orochimaru wasn't going to brand Sasuke until he showcased his skill. And even after HE DID Orochimaru brands him with the seal but doesn't give him the pill. With the pill Sasuke becomes compatible with the seal but before that he was severely nerfed and his mind was corroding (like what he did to Zaku). This Sasuke would eventually either be Orochimaru lvls of evil or braindead. That's why I'm confused when people say he should've stayed in the village. And what? Be nerfed? Braindead? Or have a seal that seals the seal (Kakashi's seal) and be version 2 Anko since Hiruzen put a seal on her and she was weak.
Watching the early episodes of Naruto, you get so excited by any kind of ninjutsu, but watching the early episodes of Naruto after finishing the full series and Shippuden, you now get excited by any kind of taijutsu.

I don’t think he thought he could win. This was character growth for Sasuke. He knew the grass ninja(orochimaru) was stronger but he realized if he was too afraid to give his all in this battle he wouldn’t even last a second against his brother.

glad im not the only one who feels this way. people will ask why im making a game of the OG series instead of shippuden, and this is why.
Honestly if you remove the filler most of the original Naruto is simply just the best Naruto period.

@@hidan407 Its actually more to do with the fact that the seniors of each generation became less cruel on the way they treated children. Back in Hashirama and Madara's day, kids fought in wars, in Naruto's day kids didn't go to war but they still experience life-threatening tests. In Boruto's day, they protect children more than they ever did in the past.

This was peak Naruto. Jutsu’s weren’t ridiculous so the animation beautifully blends hand to hand combat and Ninjutsu along with an amazing sound track. This was what made every one love OG Naruto that Shippuden couldn’t compare to

@@Woronoa Orochimaru probably had the speed of an elite jonin. He wasn't known much for his Taijutsu. I would Say Lee in 5 gates was faster. What matters is reaction speed. Kakashi needed Sharingan to track Lee in 5 gates. He probably has faster close combat speed, but not travel speed. So Lee isn't hurting Kakashi or Orochimaru, despite being faster in 5+ gates

Also lol Orochimaru is a master of taijutsu and swords specifically, did you not see him fight Hiruzen and Enma? Or what about the time when he fought 4 tails Naruto with just his hands and some snake summons? Or how in Boruto when he fought Log?
Kakashid didn’t need sharingan to see Lee. He just used it to see analyze his movement and see his chakra.... Guy didn’t have an issue seeing him, nor did Hiruzen, or most other jonin in the room
Fyi elite jonin speed would be the likes of Hidan or Asuma, Kakashi is faster than them both but he is the tip of the iceberg of jonin. Orochimaru is far faster than them all

There's something about this fluid motion and animation that no modern episode has achieved since. Not that the animation is bad in the newer fights, it's actually pretty good in a lot of places but there's a very specific kind of flow to these older scenes that are timeless. Every movement carries weight. Every attack drags the wind with it. You can see the clothing shift and flutter and the warping distortions of people moving at truly amazing speeds. They actually showed characters moving and behaving in superhuman ways so the odd body movements don't seem so out of place. Something fluent that isn't there anymore. They put so much care into every key frame, countless of them in fact. It's much harder and slower to animate like this, I know. Even still, it shows how hard they worked back then to make this show stand out and every one of these fights are burned into our memories. I don't think we'll remember a lot of the scenes in the modern shows as well as we do these ones. It could be nostalgia but one thing is undeniable; The action sequences of the original series (including ones with less fluent animation) had an incredible amount of beauty and depth put into them.

0:49 is beautiful. Orochimaru *clearly* is faster than Sasuke. but just by that brief second of seeing Orochimaru move Sasuke instantly copies and this is noted by that little after shadow (every step Orochimaru had one) that Sasuke had. wasn’t a big detail but little things like that are nice

The fights were clever but THE ACTUAL AUDIENCE got side tracked by the powers. People thought that in the neji fight in original Naruto that there were so many strategies, but further on in Shippuden they were doing all of it but it wasn't highliehted so the audience missed out on it

This fight is why Sasuke is one of my favorite characters. His resolve of going against his brother was so strong it overpowered his fear of fighting a stronger opponent. If his brother is HIM HIM Uchiha, he can't be afraid of anyone else.
IDGAF what anyone says - this is one of the BEST fights in the entire series PERIOD and one of Sasuke's most likable moments.
The animation (especially when Sasuke loses it at 1:20 and goes all out with his Katon after knowing he has his target zeroed in), the overall excellent combination of nin and taijutsu, the music, the voice acting and even the voice lines ("I can see! I can see you!").

This was my favorite sasuke in the entire series. He cared about his team, he was known for being among the best Genin and everyone wanted to fight him(including naruto), he didn’t want to take over the world over anything like that and this moment right here made him have courage to not back down from anyone.

I've watched all of Naruto and Shippuden and this is my favorite fight in Naruto, when Sasuke resolved himself to fight here in order to prepare himself for his fight with Itachi and started saying that he could see it really resonated with me as a kid and I've never been more hyped for anything else in the show.

i kind of agree, i also liked his character in the first shippuden movie. For me that was peak sasuke, he was still kind of a good guy and helped naruto. For me he started to suck when they made him turn evil.

I can't tell if you're serious or not, but if you're being serious:
Sasuke only has the base Sharingan at this point, and it's not even fully matured - it's only got two tomoe in the eye, rather than three. The Susano'o requires that you have two Mangekyou and have unlocked the abilities of both of them. Summoning meteors requires the Deva path of the Rinnegan to create the meteors in the first place, which Sasuke only gets at the very end of the series.

It’s funny, good, but also sad. Funny and good because we see just how easy their lives are thanks to their parents building this new safe world, but also sad because we won’t be getting the same quality Naruto series had to face until much later in the future (thanks to the episode 1 prologue).

Now that I'm 22 and truly understand this fight. This was a Genin fighting a well honed Sannin and not only a Sannin but one that mastered Forbidden arts and he STILL held his own. Man this was Nostalgic.
He didn't hold his own... If Orochimaru would have fought serious, Sasuke would instantly die
lol not at a single point he held his own, everything orochimaru did in this fight was a test to see how he'd react he was literately playing with the kid like how madara did with the 5 kage

Yeah I thought that was really clearly shown when Orochimaru was overwhelmed by the wire and flames, and was screaming in pain. But then not even a second later he broke free of the wire binding with no difficulty and then paralyzed sasuke instantly lol. It shows he was faking EVERYTHING
