I agree that this series is such a treasure, Thank you Prof Pearce and Tan. I think Grenne’s inability to relinquish his love for sin is evidenced in his novels. You can see, at least in The Power and the Glory and The Heart of the Matter, Greene’s soft romanticism of sexual sin. While there is so much to be admired in his Catholic novels, when you know his biography you can see his struggle to fully embrace Christian morality, as well as theology, and to his detriment.
This serie is a gold mine!

I love the story about how Graham ran from Padre Pio. It reminded me how in the Bible people were afraid to ask Jesus any more questions.
